I haven't been to Igboland all my adult life but my parents spoke only Igbo to us. When I see comments like the ones in this thread, I just shake my head.

With the way pan-africanism is gaining ground, I don't see Igbo language dying in the nearest future. Every country that was colonized tend to favor the language of the colonialists and with the influence of the American culture, it was crazy but things are changing now.

Igbo language might evolve (since we have a very large diaspora community) but it will not die.
