PoliticsRe: Traditional Rulers Walk Out On Osinbajo In Delta State (Pics, Video) by DaGC(m): 11:10am On Jan 17, 2017
CXLVII:

"Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom in Delta State, HRM Emmanuel Sideso who got angry for not being on the high table."

Our leaders need to be banned from consuming Ogogoro
Bro, the said meeting happened in his kingdom (domain), yet other kings were given higher preference. The VP even flew from the naval base to visit the king of Gbaramatu in his palace but refused to honour the said king in his own domain. Not even minding that the Refinery, Chevron, Saipem, Army Barracks, Navy Base etc are all in his kingdom.

No king will want to be subject to another king in his kingdom. Especially 1 with as much resources in his kingdom vital to the peace talks.

Who ever planned the trip made a mistake

The Urhobo nation will not support any political party or politicians who have no respect for our ethnic identity..

Osibanjo came into Warri through Osubi Airport,( without stopping over to pay a courtesy call to the Orodje of
Okpe). they headed straight to Gbaramatu Kingdom, where he paid a visit to the King before proceeding with his mission.
He left with the entourage to Warri and also paid courtesy call on the Olu of Itsekiri, where he spent almost all his time before leaving around 5:30pm

As customary with the unwritten Nigeria protocol where a visiting Governor, Deputy Governor, Vice President or President pays courtesy call to the paramount ruler of a place that is visited or hosting the event, Osibanjo clearly refused to visit the King of Uvwie Kingdom, even after visiting the Olu of Itsekiri that has no connection with the event..
The only sensible post so far.

The VP landed at the airport and couldn't visit the Orodje which is the head of the domain. Then also went to the Naval base of the Ovie of Uvwie domain and still didn't visit him. Then held the conference in the kings domain, and expect the king of the kingdom not to sit on the high table in his own kingdom. It was highly disrespectful.

No king will appreciate being treated that way in their own kingdom.

PoliticsRe: Jonathan Approved N80bn Special Funds For Sambo Dasuki by DaGC(m): 8:08am On Jan 13, 2017
Maybe, it's because I was privileged to meet with him and benefitted from his government, but I still think of him as a meek, humble and gentle person, who was surrounded by the wrong people.

I for one understand the contents of the contracts, cause a terrorist attack on those infrastructures would have been terrible, but seeing that nobody reported any surveillance nor security patrols on said sites kinda makes me think NSA is to blame, like Kyari, Lawal and the rest in this regime.

May Nigeria move forward from these set of people.

Can't deny there has been a significant improvement where I live. Since Christmas eve power has been interrupted for a total of 2 hours only. Almost forgotten what generator sounds like. Lord knows I can get used to this.
Since Christmas Eve? Wow.
2 hours total blackout over a period of 11 days?
Location please?

MrTruth4real:
Guy I don't believe this news, I did my I.T at wrpc, most times, the refinery was good to go, but no crude available, and anytime there was crude, wrpc was always working unless there is a fault at a major unit of the plant, and the staff make sure they fix it as soon as possible.
Bro, I won't argue with you about the status of the refinery. I based my post ofln what was reported in the OP.

GMBuhari:
Why won't it work at 8.5 capacity when some people.l made it their hobby to avenge Jonathan by blowing up crude supply pipelines

And before you read my head with your stupid mentions the writeup stated categorically that vandals wrecked havoc during thier rampage, and I don't think 'vandals' in this context means those stealing petrol
Bro, no need for the excuses. The report clearly states that the NNPC received over 245m barrels in the period under review but we're only able to refine about 10℅ of it.

All the more reason, why they should be privatised, cause they seem not to be working at acceptable capacity.

Oil prices in the world fall but PMS price increases in Nigeria.

And someone was shouting that the former President should reduce PMS price cause Crude oil price has crashed internationally.

So many wrong things with Nigeria undecided

the weapons are coming in en masse, sometimes when I go to apapa, I see weapons being Conveyed by soldiers on more than 2 occasions in the last 3 months , I don't go there everyday o
Ammunitions arrive on a steady but hardly does new weapons and equipments. Can't count how many times I've seen Soldiers offloading at Apapa and Warri ports.

Sometimes, you see the boxes on the truck in the convoy and its usually grenades and bullets written on them.

That's like saying all robbers and cultists are well trained, simply because they can shoot a gun.

Anyways, I said "little or no military training" but you using "well trained" is a bit too much.

same thing with isis they are not as equipped or as powerful as the Russians and syrian army combined but still they thrive
The only thing missing from ISIS arsenal is nuclear weapons, ICBMS and fighter jets (cause ISIS has just a few). They are almost as equipped as the Syrians (if not better) but not on the same level with the Russians.

How do you know about that?
.

The delivery of Battleships and Cruisers have always made the news. Likewise aircraft and Armoured Personnel Carriers, so I'm sure I would have seen if this administration has made giant leaps in logistics and equipment upgrade.

Dont be surprised those rag tagged dudes are well equipped by some thieves who who feed on a troubled Nigeria.
That may be true. Some months ago, I saw what some young youths did to some Army officers in Warri, that the Army personnel had to flee their post. Later heard some peeps paid them to fight for the contract land based on tribal affiliation.
PoliticsRe: Nigeria Military In Pictures by DaGC(m): 10:38pm On Oct 21, 2016
Kgdavid:
Are you not following Nigerian politics? 2 years back what was the daily cry of the military and those close to them? Was it not the poor state of equipment and inadequacy of arms handed out to them?

Once the govt, then under GEJ got serious at election time, was that not when the story started to change? and when PMB took over when last did you hear of boko haram defeating the Nigerian Army in a single encounter?
Reason why I didn't wanna drag politics into it is cause of your 1st paragraph. Cause you are implying that the above weapons images were procured by this administration and that before this administration, they didn't exist. 2ndly, neither GEJ or PMB are on the front lines fighting the insurgents which still boils down to me being surprised by our armed forces being haggled by people with little or no military training.

And I never mentioned Boko Haram cause they are not the only ones fighting the Armed forces, I also meant militants, illiterate youths used for elections etc.

These are people with little or no training, holding it down against people with a career in it.

Its just a thought though, so don't get too irked.

God bless the Armed Forces.

One of the areas Buhari scored high points in so far.
His offensive strategies and leadership changes seems to be working excellently. But in the area of logistics, upgrade and weapons purchase, I'm not so sure.
PoliticsRe: Nigeria Military In Pictures by DaGC(m): 10:05pm On Oct 21, 2016
Now, this is not a bashing of our Armed Forces, especially since I come from a family with deep ties to the security forces, but its really astounding that with all these equipments, training and all, that a group of rag tag civilians with little or no military training (some are even little boys), could wage a war with our military and in some cases defeat them. Its really astounding.

Irrational youths would quote and play politics with it as usual. Please find your mate.

God bless them though. Goodluck cousin as you sail the N-D creeks.
CrimeRe: Protesters Match To Customs Office In Lagos Over The Killing Of A Motorc by DaGC(m): 6:38pm On Oct 18, 2016
I was there on thursday. According to some eye witnesses, the customs officers tried stopping a truck but he evaded them and they shot at it killing the bike man.

My question is why aren't the customs at the border checking for contrabands instead of allowing it into the country and trying to stop it here?
