We are talking about heavens meaning universe and the universe contains stars and planets. Heavenly bodies mean stars and planets. Now you want to add angels as a distraction when we are not talking about angels

Common sense shows that the " and" used here isn't used just as a conjunction but as sequential term. Apparently, the grammatical laws of KJV do not tally with your redundant lectures on conjunction. You don't have to argue with the glaring. God created the heavens AND the earth. In the context of Genesis 1, "and" there connotes sequence.
