Christianity EtcRe: Why Doesn't God Ever Answer Prayers? by dalebutt1: 9:27am On Nov 12, 2011
Well as much as we shall carry on discussing this God existence, the truth is He lives and lives forever more. But I wonder when God speaks through his servants and the sometimes say the same thing without knowing eachother but the opposite happens, has chrisj2000 have said it is tough to give up this childhood belief, I was so frustrated at my mum yesterday, I said to her, mum am not into all this fasting and praying anymore, If my heavenly father wont answer my prayers so be it, no grudges at all,  no ill feeling either, am not gona get worked out because i prayed and they have not been answered afterall he didnt promise a trouble free life but it hurts  when you know you have a father that has so much power and glory and he wouldnt even answer to your request. it weakens someones faith no matter how strong a believer you are.

One thing is, I have stopped to ask for things from God hence no dissapointment and hopes for a quick fix to my situation, I pray he helps me live as faultless as possible but me, am done asking for things that I would never  probably get an answer for.
Christianity EtcRe: Why Doesn't God Ever Answer Prayers? by dalebutt1: 8:38pm On Nov 11, 2011
Well am just gona accept things as it comes now, am not looking for a quick fix simply because i have prayed to God. but it just hurts me that when you love someone so much he cant even just answer important prayers, we he says we should trust him and wait for his time. I have prayed for him to even seize life from me atleast i can be with him in heaven he wouldnt do that aswel. I guess am gona try and sort things out in my own way then but it doesnt just glorify him, situations continue to push people out of his ways
Christianity EtcRe: Why Doesn't God Ever Answer Prayers? by dalebutt1: 7:57pm On Nov 11, 2011
well OP am in the same situation here, me and my wife have been trusting God for something now been over a year. and they kept saying fast and pray well i stopped fasting and i stopped praying because i am just tired, i just wake up in the morning sometimes and say thank you jesus, am just waiting to see what will eventually happen, mum just called today again sayin my wife gona have to fast for 21 days I quickly draw her attention to the thread i read on here last night and i said mum there is no way she is doing that, Its really taking its toll on my wife, I have to remind my mum so many things pastors have said that never come to pass I said well as much as we are on the same boat and I respect her but there is no way she is doing 21 days fasting. albeit not dry fasting but I still dont want it.

I believe God answering prayers doesnt have to do with us having to kill ourselves before the prayer actually got answered. God has blessed us in so many other ways given the fact that we are young and everything. I wish i could speak to God one on one and ask why these prayers havent been answered it weakens the trust I have in him.

I know its easy for people to say yes trust God because they do not actually feel first hand what you feel but its so painful when you have the complete fear of God and this doesnt even change, I told my wife am not gona trust this God again but the fear just stroke like what if the world were to end tomorrow where would you be, well I think that says it then I have to keep trusting

I think he knows what he is saying. I stayed 7 days in a 5 star hotel in dubai, 3 14 days in a 5 star hotel in santiago, chile and believe me the difference is an infinitesimal.
And you stayed in Transcorp Hilton  ever?

I've stayed in 5-star hotels outside the country and there isn't much difference from what we have in transcorp. infact, transcorp is way better than some I've been to.
I've also stayed in transcorp for ten straight nights but didnt experience power failure. I can boldly say we have good hotels in Nigeria.
Are you sure you know what you are saying Sir? Because me think not Sir

By their deeds they have shown us their true colours.

dont worry brother, a time will come when our old religions and values will return and we will throw out these dirty, slaving, violent, fanatical, foreign, corrupt, convert-greedy proselytising religions out of our Nigeria. IN FACT, i am already working on it. i just need more support from all other tribe peoples. my own Haussa brothers are not much help. they are all blinded by islam.

I was reading a book about an old woman with alzhemer similar to dementia, there is no cure for this disease till now, this disease causes vast memory lost that the victim would not be able to remeber almost everything they ever knew.

this woman suffered for very long time before she died, but there one thing people know this woman for, she always proclaim the Lord is good when she finally die the grandson was asking his dad, he says dad where is grandma? dad replied, grandma is in heaven the young boy said oh good now grandma can remember everybodys name and grandma is totally free. That is just a typical example that until we are in heaven we are bound to challenges, suffering and any sort of tribulation but as we experience it we should try not to loose up because God experienced it on the cross, and he said he is with us till the end of the Age.

Alleluia!! Alleluia!! Alleluia!!. I love you Lord

my previous post was for the athiest on this thread, back to the topic now. this is quite a difficult one to really explain

David said, my God, my God, why have you forsakeen me? also jesus being the offspring of david and our Lord and hope to salvation when was on the cross he said my God, my God, why have you forsakeen me. God could change everyones situation if he cared to change it . But we should remember as the children of God because of the free will handed to us to choose good from evil, as close to perfect as we try we still commit sins almost on a daily basis.

If God should eradicate suffering in the lives of all believers, there would be no need to faith and the relationship between the creation and the creator would be less meaningful because it would be that as soon as i become a christian that is the end to suffering.

God didnt promise us a troubled free life, he says in the book of john 16 v 33, I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world. everything suffering shall end when we get to heaven.

The beingness of God cannot be proved or disprove. The Bible says that we must accept by faith the fact that God exists: “And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him” (Hebrews 11:6). If God so desired, He could simply appear and prove to the whole world that He exists. But if He did that, there would be no need for faith. “Then Jesus told him, ‘Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed’” (John 20:29).

That does not mean, however, that there is no evidence of God’s existence. The Bible states, “The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they display knowledge.

PLEASE LETS STUDY THE BELOW CAREFULLY. LET THE SMART ATHEIST CAREFULLY READ AND IF ENGLISH IS NOT YOUR STRONG POINT AS AN ATHEIST GET A TRANSLATOR AND THE FOOLISH CAN ALWAYS IGNORE

Does God exist? Is there evidence for the existence of God?

Does God exist?

Question: "Does God exist? Is there evidence for the existence of God?"

Answer: The existence of God cannot be proved or disproved.

There is no speech or language where their voice is not heard. Their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world” (Psalm 19:1-4). Looking at the stars, understanding the vastness of the universe, observing the wonders of nature, seeing the beauty of a sunset—all of these things point to a Creator God. If these were not enough, there is also evidence of God in our own hearts. Ecclesiastes 3:11 tells us, “…He has also set eternity in the hearts of men.” Deep within us is the recognition that there is something beyond this life and someone beyond this world. We can deny this knowledge intellectually, but God’s presence in us and all around us is still obvious. Despite this, the Bible warns that some will still deny God’s existence: “The fool says in his heart, ‘There is no God’” (Psalm 14:1). Since the vast majority of people throughout history, in all cultures, in all civilizations, and on all continents believe in the existence of some kind of God, there must be something (or someone) causing this belief.

In addition to the biblical arguments for God’s existence, there are logical arguments. First, there is the ontological argument. The most popular form of the ontological argument uses the concept of God to prove God’s existence. It begins with the definition of God as “a being than which no greater can be conceived.” It is then argued that to exist is greater than to not exist, and therefore the greatest conceivable being must exist. If God did not exist, then God would not be the greatest conceivable being, and that would contradict the very definition of God.

A second argument is the theological argument. The theologists argue that, since the universe displays such an amazing design, there must have been a divine Designer. For example, if the Earth were significantly closer or farther away from the sun, it would not be capable of supporting much of the life it currently does. If the elements in our atmosphere were even a few percentage points different, nearly every living thing on earth would die. The odds of a single protein molecule forming by chance is 1 in 10243 (that is a 1 followed by 243 zeros). A single cell is comprised of millions of protein molecules.

A third logical argument for God’s existence is called the cosmological argument. Every effect must have a cause. This universe and everything in it is an effect. There must be something that caused everything to come into existence. Ultimately, there must be something “un-caused” in order to cause everything else to come into existence. That “un-caused” cause is God.

A fourth argument is known as the moral argument. Every culture throughout history has had some form of law. Everyone has a sense of right and wrong. Murder, lying, stealing, and immorality are almost universally rejected. Where did this sense of right and wrong come from if not from a holy God?

Despite all of this, the Bible tells us that people will reject the clear and undeniable knowledge of God and believe a lie instead. Romans 1:25 declares, “They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen.” The Bible also proclaims that people are without excuse for not believing in God: “For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities—His eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse” (Romans 1:20).

am seriously staggered at the number of grown up Nigerians strictly adhering to the codes and conducts of these MOGs, these people have fastly turn to a first class money grabbing machines,if the amount energy spent on preaching about tithe and giving were spent on converting new believers the wider xtian community would have seen a sizeable growth, instead they buy jets and build houses and inside their camps they build houses for governors and presidents. I can go on it barely would change a thing. I am hacked off of this pastors malarkey hacked off i tell you
Christianity EtcRe: Oyedepo Curses Boko Haram by dalebutt1: 10:45pm On Nov 08, 2011
@ Jidewin, I am still a free giver and i would never give stupidly again, I used to give 100s of pounds tithe bro and thats a fact. Bro I hope you have an idea how much a jet cost? I want to see that person that gives out jet as a gift please maybe you should broaden my shallow thoughts. am unequivocal that Reinhard bonnken's Ministry is as big as any of the big ministries in Nigeria or even bigger than them all. yet this man never deemed it right to buy a jet and i never heard when he was gifted one either. you guyz need to wake up from your slack. damn!! jet, man of God, when jesus himself rode on a donkey. lol i feel sorry for you guyz, we all see Reinhard bonnken's charity works world wide google it you will see and God is really using this humble man. Wow!! cant believe just how gullible grown up men and women Nigerians could be, In a country that poverty has become an household brand people would still not seize to give to people that would buy jets for all they care I know they will call it blessings of GOD. OMG!!!! How much dumb can people get. I am a christian and i have never in my life time practise another religion, but i refuse to sponsor a man like myself to buy a jet. what happens to flying first class isnt that enough? some of this givers cant even boast of a 3million naira car and they wouldnt stop giving for some guy to buy his family a jet. I refuse to allow a mere mortal take me for a fool. Please grow you lots fighting for MOG let GOD fight his fight
