As much as I am an advocate for home based products,let's be honest,it's way more expensive to purchase home based products to foreign based!

And this is no fault of the home based manufacturers as the cost of production is far higher and expensive in nigeria than that of foreign companies who boast of constant power supply, effective security,low or sudsidized transport cost,active agencies that ensure quality of products and a harmonized and affordable tax!

These are the basics that influence the cost of products anywhere in the world!

Unfortunately,it's different in Nigeria as local manufacturers must battle multiplicity of legal and illegal taxes, epileptic power supply, insecurity,no active agencies to ensure quality and a very high transport cost!
By the time the production cost is factored in,the prices of the products will be 2 to 3 times more expensive than a similar foreign product!

This is the reality!

I wish the present administration would proritize all the basics that have been mentioned as factors affecting the pricing of goods and services in nigeria but they are busy trying to win another election through rigging!
