I got enlisted for Dssc training with the help of a friend who is into politics and very close to our senator, unfortunately I got withdrawn during the course of training.


He should giv us full jist

Watering was the beginning of my problem, the first cup, I screamed like am dyieng to an extent that the Slt (JB Ebesidor) looked at my eyes and said "Young man! you are not fit. They brought you here & you are going to die here!!!"

Nope, I disagree with you. The Army cares alot about them. Take for instance, promotion aspect. To be promoted from 2nd Lt to Lt takes 5 years straight (HTACOS, 2017 revised). But RCs spends 5 years and 6 months to attend dat rank (your year of service commences immediately after resumption for cadet training).

But SSC in d oda hand spend 3 years to get to dat rank ( 10 months of training plus 18 months of post POP period = 28 months, which in actual sense is 2 years and 4 months).

The Army gives SSC additional 2 years "ante period" of as a "gift" for promotion.

I have a few questions to ask

Why is it that the official uniform (green ) of those NCOs are usually very faded and not sparkling. How many pair do they give them and for how long do they expect them to wear it. Some of them wear that thing for more than 10 years yet the army does nothing about that.

Secondly during training, the blowing of pot (sitting of head torture). I call it torture because I don't see it as training. For how many hours do these guys blow pot straight?


Lastly why be say army barracks just be like police barracks? Very dirty, crowded, too many children playing around , prostitution etc. Can't they take a cue from the airforce and navy?

If nah DSSC.... Sit on ur head not more dan 2hours as the cas may be... But if na SSC... Obio.... Doz guyz dey try i beg....zero ur mind... SSC guyz gallant die.

Mind u... Not all barracks are dirty... If i mention my own obio... U go like to come serve here.

Its all barracks children are seen playing around... Except sm few officers quarters.

U guys are not getting diz debate right....

A MWO or WO will definitely pay compliment to a second lieutenant or lieutenant as the case may be.... But if he doz not.... And the lieutenant charge him for insubordination...such charge wont stand...who go sit for the order... It doz not have weight. In his wisdom(lieutenant).. Make him just bone.

Another tin again is the difference between a lieutenant or second lieutenant serving in battalion or in brigade....

If nah battalion.... Obio.... The cordial relationship wey dey between the RSM and the CO... Obio... Make the lieutenant just bone....

If nah brigade again.... The relationship beteeen the RSM and the brigade commander..wen u also see the relationship... U go just waka pass...

Another issue again where u will see RSM.. Is the support unit.. Eg.. S and T.... Engineer... Ordnance etc... U cant even mess up with the RSM of doz soport unit... U deserve ur salute... But if him no pay u... Obio... Free the issue... Bcoz if u start... Its not the best for ur career.

I started reading this page from the last to first. Hopefully I'll reach page 1 in some days time, currently in page 680. The arguments and comments are engaging . I just want to wish you all the very best in your endeavors.

To that one that was arguing about a 2nd lieutenant dealing with a WO/MWO, I laugh in Afrikaan. Seems you don't know what it takes to get to that level. Small boy wey just enter bush dey find respect with his 1 star lol. WOs are the real soldiers, they do all the dirty job, they have tons of experience, they don tey for service, they are usually old . Even generals respect them and don't talk to them anyhow not to talk of you wey carry 1 star or 2 star for chest. Fine in the military, you have to drop your age at home ,nobody gives a damn about it but it's limited. Generally, NCOs are not to be messed with, even privates, once some of them start nagging and grumbling against you then you have to start threading with caution, just pet them for your own good else it will get worse. That's for privates o not to talk of the older babas with the WO ranks.

If you no be brig.gen and above and you want to enjoy army work, just avoid being hated by your surbordinates else you'll be frustrated. You go lock this one for guard room, report that one, lock this one how many you wan lock? you go lock tire as in na you go tire.

ADC to the president must be from the NA. Jonathan(former president) tried all means to make sure his loyal ADC( police CSP) when he was vice bcomes the ADC when he became the president but was told its not done...

To select the ADC to president is
1: base on merit...
2: man no man (godfatherism)
