I disagree that anyone should buy a flight ticket while they are still expecting PPR or when the counterfoil hasn't been put on the passport yet and returned to them. Yes, the Canadian journey is faith-based, but I would advise that people take it one step at a time.

If you have gotten BVL and probably have a visa document number on your tracker, keep sending reminders until your PPR lands, then plan to send your passport and let it return to you before booking a flight.

Check KLM/Air France for June, anything outside June is crazy. Those with visa documents can book June mid-ending with faith.

if you have a renewed passport ready, send the new travel document to IRCC via webform.

We applied in September 2022 for my spouse with a passport that is due to expire in May 2023. In January 2023, we renewed her passport and sent it via webform in March 2023. Her visa was approved on the 14th of April, and it still showed the about-to-expire passport on the tracker. As of the day they approved, we still sent webform telling them to update it, especially because the tracker still showed the about-to-expire passport. Her passport has been stamped, and they have now updated the passport details to the new passport we sent to them.

So if you have a new passport, send it to them. If you do not, you may decide to go and do a new passport still. Just send the passport data page to them via webform and courier the fresh passport once her PPR lands.

Send a webform attaching the new travel document/passport (Do it at least twice). They will update the passport details and the document number.

I know this because we did the same for my spouse.

I believe not everyone gets an email notification. I know my wife received emails when they received her passport.

Did you pay the N990 fees?
What you can do is call their office.

Some applicants have received PPR after the BVL from 8-10th March.

Send them emails and webforms. Check the thread for the format of the email.

I applied for a visit visa to my husband in Jan 2022. We usually check the application by just going through my husbands profile.

I decided to check my profile this morning and realized I was sent a mail for passport request on 2nd March 2023 which has passed the 30 days required for submission at vfs

You either go there to pick it up before 10 am or pay for their in-house DHL delivery service that costs 18k or so.

We discovered that DHL stopped the to-and-fro system of sending a passport to CVAC/VFS.

Did anyone experience the same?
How did you pick it up when it was stamped?

Give it some more time, and they will update it.

Meanwhile, keep sending them webforms and emails to call attention to your application.

So my wife @EDeedee1 got her PPR on Friday, 14th April 2023, which is exactly 8 months since I landed.

The application was submitted on 9th September 2022
Eligibility started between 8 -10th March 2023
BVL - 12th April 2023.
PPR - 14th April 2023

Between March 10th and 12th April, we were both sending Webform and Emails daily. After the BVL dropped on the 12th of April, she didn't stop sending emails and webform; in fact, on the 14th of April; she still sent emails and web forms in the morning before PPR dropped in the afternoon, especially after seeing @RxOtunba post encouraging those who have gotten BVL to send webform and email.

Application submitted in Apr 2021. Sudden BVL received on 4th April 2023. No update again. I sent a webform on 7th April but no update. I sent a mssg yesterday that no decision email after abt 2 wks that I got BVL, then later I got an email "Pls check ur cic portal for the new update"; after dat I got a "donotreply" email, and I logged in to see PPR. (Old portal).

Another May 2022 application (New Portal). BVL came 2 days ago, then also sent an email yesterday to ask why there is no decision after about 48 hrs. I got same pattern of email and logged in to see PPR.

All things being equal, expect your Passport Request. It has ended in praise.

If your medical is expiring before you intend to travel, you will need to do another one. You cannot land with an expired medical.

I submitted application for SOWP for myself and study for my 2 kids on January 25.

May 5th my SOWP was approved but nothing for the children. On my application it shows background check and eligibility as on going and the final decision is your application is approved. They have also sent the letter that i should send my passport for the visa.

Please what can i do to make the children's application be released on time.
We have all done our medicals.

I believe each session allows 2MB each.

I love the conversation so far. I have had to read up on the process and I have been shocked at the fear/impossibility of the process expressed by some.

First, you won't be going into the US per se.
Secondly, it's either possible or not possible(just be sure you have not broken any immigration law). It is a legal process. You can only come prepared with supporting documents should you be able to flag poll.

Not as hard as you're describing it. Someone did it recently. And there was no issue. All u need do is inform Immigration officer at Canada border u Wana flagpole ,they'll direct you to the right place, and if it's not possible they'll tell you right away, obviously you still have you Visitor's permit or any other legal permit Valid.
Immigration officers will tell you what to do, so you're not gonna fall in any " no man's land" 1, 2 ,3 , 4 5 etc people have done it successfully. If you know anyone who was caught in no man's land, pls tell the person to come explain himself here, and no speculations.

If she made a strong statement about her family staying back, I would advise she gets to Canada first before applying for them.

I can't remember vividly where I read the case of someone whose SOWP was rejected because the application was done immediately after the student arrived Canada. The VO claimed that the student's LOE stated the family is staying back or something.

I am not saying this would always be the case. It might be easier to justify the change of plans, such as already missing family, etc., if the SOWP application is done after arriving Canada.

What will happen if an applicant did mention that in the LOE?


I believe Family staying back help proof ties to back home.

Plus plans do change. Family unification is equally a priority for Canada.

While applying for your study permit, I hope you didn’t make an extremely strong statement in your LOE about your family staying back (assuming you mentioned them as home ties)?

Fall 2022 is September.

Such a person can travel a month(August) to school resumption as stating in LOA.
