Celebrities › Afeez Owo: Friends Gave Mide Martins Wrong Advice To Ruin Our Marriage by damiloladuke(op): 6:22am On May 27, 2018
Popular Nollywood actor and producer Afeez Owo is married to actress Mide Martins, and they just celebrated their 15th wedding anniversary.

Friends gave my wife wrong advice to ruin our marriage - Actor Afeez Owo lailasnews 3

In a new chat with Sunday Scoop, the celebrated thesepian opened up on the factors that almost affected his marriage sometime ago.

Recall that sometime in 2016, his wife claimed on social media that her husband had abandoned her and the kids.

Afeez Owo wo didn’t try to run away from the crisis that once rocked his marriage. But, according to him, his wife took the wrong advice from friends who wanted to cause havoc in their home.

The film-maker said:

“There will always be challenges in a home but it depends on how you handle them. Friends nearly ruined our marriage; my wife was wrongly advised. As we speak, she still regrets all those things she did or said. Couples will always fight, but they don’t need to let their neighbours know about it. We’ve made our mistakes and we have learnt from it. We don’t pray for that anymore.”

Despite being a Muslim, Owo said he would never marry more than one wife as he didn’t want trouble for himself:

“My father did not try to marry many wives because he was a peaceful person and I take after him in that regard. Though the Quran permits us to marry more than a wife, I am not interested in it. It will bring more problems for me and I don’t want it,” he stated.
On how he met his actress wife, he said:

“God just said she would be my wife. When my ex-girlfriend cheated on me then, she was one of the people who begged on her behalf but I had already made up my mind. It was after a while I started dating Mide. We have been married for 17 years. I have known my wife for 25 years. My wife is like my mother and I love her so much. She also sees me as her father.”

Celebrities › Video of Two Nigerian Men Beating An Alleged South African Racist by damiloladuke(op):
A video has surfaced on the internet and it is about a brawl between some Nigerian men and a white racist South African who is fond of harassing black people around him.

In the video, the two men were seen exchanging bitter words before the South African made an attempt to punch the Nigerian man. This resulted into a fight and the Nigerian man easily floored him before his friend took over and floored the racist South African guy as well.

According to the reports in the area where the incident happened in South Africa. It was not the first time that the white guy would be seen harassing people, especially blacks.

He is known for his hatred for black people and not only foreigners, even black South Africans as well

He however met his water-loo when he confronted the Nigerians who were obviously stronger than he was. It even got to a point that he was being stepped upon by one of the Nigerian men, even after he had been reeling in pains on the floor.

His wife could be seen after the fight asking the men to stop fighting in a rather high tone, which could give an indication of their hatred for blacks

Celebrities › Eric Many Slams Fresh N267million Lawsuit On Runtown by damiloladuke(op): 12:51pm On May 25, 2018
The on-going legal battle between Nigerian singer, Runtown and his record label, Eric Many is far from over.

The label who initially issued a court injunction against him a few months back claiming damages of N65 million naira back then has just slammed the singer with a N267 million naira suit at the Federal High Court, Abuja.

According to the label, the new court Injunction was slammed on Runtown because he is owing the label N267 million and he has not also adhered in line to deliver his album appropriately and he has deliberately tried to register the name Runtown without the label's consent and abscond from contract.

According to a statement by the label's general manager, Johnson Adumike,

'as you are aware, lately we have been in Court with Runtown over copyrights issues with regards to two collabo videos he made without our prior approval. Truly, the much-publicized legal action at the Federal High Court in Lagos was, contrary to what many believe, not on the entire contract we signed with Runtown.

It was only on the unapproved collabo videos and we claimed general damages of about N65 Million for the copyright infringement'.

He went on to add that,

'we had thought that Runtown would see reason to retrace his steps on our Contract following the ‘warning case’ on copyright infringement. This was not to be as he took to the social media, especially Twitter, dishing out insults on our Chairman, Prince Okwudili Umenyiora, boasting that he was no longer with Ericmany.

His elder brother joined on Instagram boasting that his company ‘JSparrowMedia’ is now the person booking Runtown’s shows and no longer Ericmany. Under our Contract, the professional name ‘Runtown’ and other names are licensed to Ericmany. Yet Runtown went to Trademarks Registry in Abuja and has been working to take the names from us'.

These and many other issues thrown up by the copyrights suit confirmed to us that indeed Runtown had walked out on us. We therefore decided to sue him for comprehensive breach of contract, to the sum of N266,694,755'.

While our Contract is supposed to fall due for expiration on 22nd June 2018, Ericmany now has an outstanding balance of about N266,694,755.08 to recoup on our investment and expenses on Runtown’s career. He is also yet to deliver an Album which the Contract requires him to deliver to us during the Contract period.

The Contract spells out the procedure for the production of the Album. Runtown is yet to initiate the procedure, whilst he focuses on Abuja Trademarks Registry scheming on how to make us lose grip of his professional name'.

'Last Wednesday, 23rd May 2018, following the advice of our lawyers, we withdrew our case at the Federal High Court on the collabos to have more time and focus to pursue the case of breach of contract.

Our lawyers had advised that since the breach of contract and recovery of our outstanding sum of N266,694,755.08 is a bigger picture, it would be more reasonable to drop the copyright case and focus our energy on the contract case. We accepted this advice and gave a go-ahead for the Lagos Case to be withdrawn' he said.

Thank you to all the teachers, parents and my humble principal who supported me and the kids today. I truly appreciate your kindness and friendship.

Education › Governor Ambode Gifts LASU's Best Graduating Student Fuhad Ogunsanya N5 Million by damiloladuke(op): 10:41am On May 24, 2018
The governor of Lagos State, Akinwunmi Ambode, has given N5 million to Mr. Fuhad Adetoro who is the Best Graduating student of the Lagos State University (LASU)

The governor made the cash donation to Fuhad at the convocation ceremony of the school which took place at the institution's Ojo campus yesterday May 23rd.

Governor Ambode also adopted Fuhad and pledged to sponsor Fuhad's Masters programme to any University of his choice.

''In response to the best graduating student’s request, Lagos State Government does not generally give scholarship anymore but only bursary. So, I adopt him. “His story is too compelling and it reflects on my own story. So, any university he wants to go, I will do it personally; I will be responsible. “In addition to that, because he is the best graduating student, I dash him N5million,”
Governor Ambode said

Adetoro, who is of the Faculty of Management Sciences, was announced as the best graduating student having scored a CGPA of 4.78.

Giving his valedictory speech, Fuhad told the gathering that he once suffered cataract for three years and it made some people believe that his educational pursuit was a tall dream
His words:

In order to prevent it from extending to the next eye, I was asked to undergo another surgery which was not successful. After some years, the defect extended to the other eye.

The defect extended all through my secondary school years and my secondary school leaving examinations result was decorated with F9. I left my father’s house to reside with my uncle.

While residing with my uncle, he worked tirelessly to ensure a permanent solution to the defect. We visited several hospitals before we were referred to University College Hospital, UCH, Ibadan.

After several months of therapy, another surgery was carried out which later became successful. The challenge later was how to cover the lost time. After three years of leaving secondary school, the issue stopped, but there was need to cover lost ground.”

Celebrities › Kemi Olunloyo Insists Linda Ikeji Is Not Pregnant, Reveals More Details by damiloladuke(op): 6:25pm On May 23, 2018
Controversial Nigerian journalist, Kemi Olunloyo has insisted that popular Nigerian blogger, Linda Ikeji is not pregnant, despite the latter showing off her bare baby bump earlier today to dispel the rumours.

Kemi Olunloyo had earlier claimed that she got hold of information that Linda can never conceive as she does not have any uterus to carry a baby so her pregnancy must definitely be fake

Linda Ikeji reacted by sharing photos of her bare baby bump while addressing some other issues to quench the claims, but it appears that Kemi is not backing down and instead she has mad some videos and shared some images on social media to buttress her claims.

Kemi revealed that Linda is not pregnant and that the baby bump she flaunted while not putting on any top is fake. According to her, such baby bump is called moonbump.

She spoke of how she has details of the receipt of the moonbump Linda Ikeji purchased and that she’s getting her information from a certain Mary Ann, a friend to Laura (Ikeji).

Kemi Olunloyo wrote:

LINDA STOP!!
Stop parading your fake bump on SM. Tell ur fans the truth and educate them. This is the only thing I despise about you. You don’t educate them, share knowledge and teach blogging. Like you said to #Charlyboy you want to “have it all” TO YOURSELF abi?

Stop gifting an unborn baby a Bentley. Be discreet with certain things. Most of ur fans have not eaten today. My fans fed me today, I went to the supermarket on Facebook @hnnafrica. I have no money, suffering from a mental illness called #PTSD caused by my wrongful abduction, attempted assassination and imprisonment just for doing my work. On top of that my passport which is directly tied to my job still seized by a federal judge who has not dropped the case on his side because someone “wants to confess.”

Linda honey you are a STAR!!⭐ and that’s why I promote you, announced your 100k donation to my travel legal fund, called Larry page to drop a volcano on Google Nigeria to reinstate your blog at midnight and even talked to producers at CNN secretly to profile you. I want more #HNNWomenNG to conquer out there. Pathetic lying is a mental disease.

You can buy anything today EXCEPT integrity. Sadly most of your fans are illiterates. Many are on my page today laying curses. I won’t curse them back. I’m a daughter of Sango the God of Thunder. Our third Alaafin of Oyo. Struck by lightning twice and I’m still alive, when you lay a curse on me, it goes directly to the one you are fighting for.

Linda remember #AngelaOkorie who said I will die soon? Look what Sango did to her. She was almost killed on her birthday by armed robbers. Call your fans to order. This mental disorder I’m battling does something unusual to me. It makes me spill too much truth. I need to get away from Nigeria soon. God Bless”

Speaking in an interview on Broadway TV, the male barbie said he settles for female dresses for entertainment.

Bobrisky also revealed that he makes over N600,000 on a weekly basis.

According to him:

“You know when you are doing something and you are not really good at it; you are not perfect at it; it does not really speak well of you.

“So, for me, I’m trying to be perfect in what I do. So, that’s the way it is, people should just accept it the way it is: Bobrisky is growing breasts.

“I’m not doing anything really serious to grow boobs. I’m just eating and taking some pills. It’s just to give us that cleavage look.

“Bobrisky is a brand. I own a brand, money, fame and I think I have more confidence in me. I make over N600 to 700k on a weekly basis.

“I’m going to call myself an entertainer. I’m partially an entertainer and partially a cross-dresser because I put on female attire.

“The reason I’m dressing in female attire is because I want to entertain people. So its still all under entertainment.”

Politics › Mother Cries As Son's Corpse Is Brought Home After Being Killed In Protest by damiloladuke(op): 3:39pm On May 23, 2018
It was a sad moment for a woman and other members of her family when the corpse of her son was brought home yesterday after the clash between security operatives and residents in Amassoma, Southern Ijaw, Bayelsa State, reportedly left him dead.

Local reports show that the clash, which started in the morning at the gate of the state-owned Niger Delta University (NDU), was said to have left many people injured.

It was gathered that the university community was thrown into tension as sporadic gunshots and fired teargas canisters caused panic among the residents.

The problem was said to have started when a detachment of armed security operatives, who arrived the community early in the morning, forcefully opened the gate of the troubled school.

The school was shut down by aggrieved community women, whose names were removed from NDU’s payroll after they were indicted by the ongoing public sector reforms of Governor Seriake Dickson.

The women, who insisted that their names must be returned to the payroll against civil service rules, were said to have hired the services of a welder to permanently seal the university’s gate.

The protesters including women and youths were said to be angry when they woke up in the morning to discover that the school’s gate was forcefully opened and surrounded by scores of heavily armed security operatives.

They were said to have regrouped in their numbers and marched towards the gate to confront the security men.

Residents near the university community said that the clash turned violent when the policemen resorted to firing gunshots to disperse the protesters, resulting to death of five while several others were injured.

The protesters comprised the host community and staff of the Niger Delta University, including non-academic staff who were part of the 1,700 who lost their jobs in what the Bayelsa government described as "retirement".

They maintained that the ongoing reforms had led to massive job losses from members of the university host community who gave up their ancestral land to accommodate the university in exchange for job opportunities for the people.

“We feel that the school is part of our community and we gave up our lands to support the establishment of the school with the understanding that the school will provide some jobs to our people and now those jobs are gone," one of the protesters said

Celebrities › My Boobs Are Small, But Perform Mighty Things - Actress Feyisara Hassan by damiloladuke(op): 8:02pm On May 19, 2018
Controversial Nollywood actress, Feyisara Hassan is just one of the actresses in the movie industry who don't hold back their words and always seem to pour out their mind without any thought on how the words are being taken by others.

The actress in a new interview stated that though she has small boobs, but they both do mighty things.

Feyisara Hassan who is both daring with her words and her actions, recently had tongues wagging over some hot, daring and sexy pictures she released to celebrate her 26th birthday which took place on April 26, 2018.

The actress, who has produced many films of her own caught the eyes of many and shook the social media with one which had her waist-up and all-bare, save for some strands of hair covering her boobs.

Seeing the buzz she caused with the picture, Potpourri went after her to tease her why she should be causing so much commotion with her small boobs.

“ Yes they are small but mighty,” she replied with a smile.

“ They may not be big but they are very special. They are one of the most beautiful parts I love in my body. Medium boobs and sexy are more attractive than the big ones. All kinds of boobs are good though but mine are more attractive and sexy,” she added.
If you recall, the actress once mentioned in an interview in 2017 that it is better to be a baby mama than being a wife.

When asked what came make her become a babymama, she said:

"What most people don’t know is that being a babymama is even better than being a wife. Frankly, I am not against any woman opting to be a babymama, in fact I believe it is good and more peaceful. Being a babymama you enjoy the father of your baby more than if he were your husband. .

You can have access to him whenever and wherever you want without any family pressures or restrictions. When you are a wife, there are limitations and restrictions and there’s little room for heartaches.

More women are opting to be babymamas because their lives are more peaceful and enjoyable."

Celebrities › Royal Wedding : Nigerian Government Officials Blasted Over Lack Of Protocol by damiloladuke(op): 4:29pm On May 19, 2018
The Royal Wedding between Prince Harry and Meghan Mackle is still on-going. They are currently at the St George’s Hall, Windsor castle where Sir Elton John is making a grand performance to the delight of the guests at the event.

In another twist to the orderliness that was experienced at the Royal wedding today, a former Nigerian government official has taken a jibe at the Nigerian elites over their disorderliness at public events like this.

Respected publisher Dele Momodu took to his Instagram page to share the post.

"From a respected friend and former Federal Permanent Secretary of the Federal Republic of Nigeria:

Good morning:

l have on many occasions suggested that if people do not know what to do, they should watch television. Some have taken my advice and they have expressed surprise at what they learnt over a period of time.

This morning, l sincerely hope our Governors, their wives, and aides, State Chiefs of Protocol, Chief Security officers and their men and women, protocol official s across the federation, security chiefs and bouncer s, event planners and anybody associated with planning events in this country are watching the Royal Wedding going on now.

More than an hour to the commencement, guests are already arriving, been urshed in with dignity and respect. The VIPs did not show up with their aids struggling to sit directly behind them . All seats have numbers and names on them.

No protocol or security officers running around aimlessly or looking confused. Every one involved knew exactly what to do and where to stay. Did you see the arrival of a former Prime minister and the distance he walked to the church.

That's what our VIPs hate to do. If you allow them, they would be driven into the church and carried to their seats. If you are not too busy, just watch for a while and see how a disciplined society and people behave. If you are a friend or an associate to any of the official s mentioned above please send this to him/ her and encourage them to watch the Royal Wedding.

Encourage them to pay attention to the humility, the dignity, respect and discipline of both the system, practice and those attending."

Crime › We Alerted Police Before Offa Robbery Attack - Private Security Outfits by damiloladuke(op): 11:05am On May 19, 2018
The Association of Licensed Private Security Practitioners in Kwara State has alleged that they alerted the Police on the suspected movement of the Offa Robbery gang before they struck on the day of the attack.

The association however said that men of the state police command did not act on the information provided to them, Punch Ng reports.

It will be recalled that nine policemen were among the people who were killed by the hoodlums who escaped with unspecified amount of money during the attack.

Speaking with journalists in Ilorin on Friday during a sensitisation walk by members of the association, chairman, Association of Licensed Private Security Practitioners of Nigeria, in the state, Olusola Obadeyi, said that members of the association alerted police authority in the area of activities of the hoodlums before the incident.

Obadeyi, who said that men of a licensed private security outfit working at the hotel where the hoodlums had stayed before their operation had informed police in the area of presence of men of questionable character.

"One the days that preceded the Offa Robbery attack, private security officers at the hotel where the gunmen lodged alerted the Police of their presence as they appeared questionable. But it is quite unfortunate that nothing was done"
He said

He also said that the attack could have been nipped in the bud if appropriate action had been taken. He, however, commented on insufficient number of personnel and equipment in the state.

The security expert called for complementary roles among regular security agencies in the country and members of the private security outfit, saying that the nation’s security network cannot be handled alone by the police.

He said that members of the organisation were in most grassroots areas of the country, adding that the country is too large and with insufficient number of police personnel to carry out security functions.

Celebrities › How Tuface And I Settle Our Quarrels - Sound Sultan by damiloladuke(op): 9:32am On May 19, 2018
Nigerian singers, Sound Sultan and Tuface Idibia have been friends for a very long time and their friendship seems to be waxing stronger by the day one will be left to think the duo does not have any moment of quarrel.

However, in a chat with Saturday Beats, Sound Sultan popularly referred to as Naija Ninja revealed that he has fought with the legendary singer but they settle it in a bizarre manner.
He said:

“The funny thing is that there is nothing that causes a fight between Tuface and me. If we have a misunderstanding, we make fun of it and settle it. That is the beauty of our friendship.

Whenever we have a problem, we make fun of it and resolve the issue. We argue and it is more of a hobby for us but we realise that we must not always agree on an issue.
“We have never had a quarrel over women or music. When it comes to music, we connect greatly with our inspirations. We connect greatly.

Money has never been an issue between me and anybody. It is not that I do not like money but I do not let it define who I am or erase some things about my personality. It is very important to uphold some things and stick by them. But for money, it will only come and go”
Speaking briefly on his relationship with Tuface, the iconic singer said:

“Tuface and I started in the music industry a long while ago and when we started, there weren’t too many of us in the game.

We both started in FESTAC and by virtue of that, we were always together. Back then, it was just us living our lives. We grew to understand how we connected on different levels. Nothing can stop that kind of friendship.”

Romance › ROYAL WEDDING LIVE: Prince Harry And Meghan Markle To Get Married Today by damiloladuke(op): 8:40am On May 19, 2018
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are preparing to marry in a ceremony that will be broadcast around the world.

The couple will wed in the historic surroundings of St George's Chapel, Windsor Castle, in a ceremony that begins at 12pm on Saturday.

Die-hard royalists - many decked out in the national colours of both Britain and the United States - camped out overnight in a bid to secure the best spots to catch a glimpse of the Prince and the American former actress.

Senior members of the Royal family and a raft of celebrities will be among the 600 invited guests and another 2,640 members of the public have been chosen to watch the ceremony from the grounds of Windsor Castle.

The Prince of Wales is stepping in for the father of the bride, as he prepares to walk Ms Markle down the aisle.

Kensington Palace palace said Ms Markle had asked her future father-in-law to accompany her as she makes her way to the altar after her father, Thomas Markle, was forced to pull out in a dramatic upset just two days before the wedding.

After arriving with her mother, Doria Ragland, Ms Markle will walk up the Nave of St George's Chapel - the first part of the church - on her own in front of a global television audience of millions.

She will be followed by her six bridesmaids and four pageboys including Prince George and Princess Charlotte. Ms Markle will then be accompanied by Charles through the Quire, which begins in the middle of the chapel. However, the ceremony will omit the traditional moment of "giving away".

Prince Harry and Ms Markle spent their last night as an unmarried couple in separate luxury hotels - and will only meet again at the altar.

Celebrities › Davido Stole The Song Assurance From Me - Up-coming Artiste Alleges by damiloladuke(op): 7:51am On May 13, 2018
A certain up-coming artiste, Zona Gee, whose real names are Mbamara Arinze has accused popular Nigerian singer Davido of stealing the song, Assurance, from him after he sent it to him via messaging app, WhatsApp.

In a chat with Sunday Scoop, Zona Gee admitted that he might have been defrauded. This is even as many allege that his claim was a publicity stunt.

Explaining how he allegedly got Davido’s phone number, Arinze said:

“I went for a concert and I saw Davido and some people around him. I knew I couldn’t approach any of them there because of their security men. Later on, I was able to meet one of the guys I saw around Davido, and I asked him for Mayorkun’s phone number.

He said I had to pay for it and I gave him N5,000. When I called the number he gave me, the person who answered the phone identified himself as Mayorkun’s manager. I told him I wanted to speak with Mayorkun and he handed the phone to someone who claimed to be Mayorkun.
Since I didn’t see the person, I cannot verify if it was Mayorkun I spoke with but after speaking with the person for some time, he gave me Davido’s number.

“I knew Davido may not pick my calls; so, I sent him a message on WhatsApp. Some people have been saying that the mail I claimed I was given by Davido was a fake one. However, I was excited because I believed I was talking to Davido and I didn’t bother to make checks.”
Maintaining that he actually told Davido about the song, Zona Gee said:

“My friends can bear witness that I had been singing the song, Assurance, for a long time before Davido’s version was released. The difference was that I didn’t put the name, Chioma. I recorded the chorus and sent it to Davido on WhatsApp.

We stopped chatting for a while after that only for me to realise that Davido had released the song. I was even happy that he took my song. I sent him a message when I heard the song but he did not reply.

Subsequently, I was blocked. At that point, I felt used and I thought of a way to let the world know what happened. That’s why I posted the chat on Facebook. Right now, I am not even sure I spoke with the real Davido. I might have been defrauded.”
On the similarities between his version of the song and the one Davido released, the up-and-coming singer said:

“The similarity is the chorus; the only difference is that I didn’t mention Chioma in my own. The funny thing is that I lost my phone some days ago; so, I don’t have the voice note of the song that I recorded. I am not trying to spoil anybody’s image.

I know that many people think I’m lying and using the publicity to promote my career but that was never my plan. I just want to be signed to a record label. I am ready to apologise to Davido if it is proved that he wasn’t the person I communicated with.”

My ig analytics reveals 65% of my followers are btw the Ages of 18 - 25 years. This will be the first time anyone, including members of my family will be reading this story. I feel its important I do this because I do not knw whose life would be positively affected.

1. The first time I ever owned a laptop, I was 18 years old. I pressured my mom to buy me one because it would help me study and do more research work... lies!!

2. Back then, I lived in a block of apartments and most of my neighbors then were G boys! Yes I said it! I saw nothing wrong in what they were doing back then. They were always so nice. they will drop my friends and I in class, buy us food and even take us on driving lessons.

3. Some of them had up to 4 gfs and they all knew each other and were acting like wives. Some days, they would call the babes to cry over the phone with the voice of a 6 year old, saying they needed money to escape from Libya! Millions were sent and Boys were balling!

4. I was in 200 level then and I was a sucker for the good life (still is) but I wasn’t interested in being a 5th gf! I wanted the millions, the cars and I even wanted to open a business lol (Lord have mercy on my soul!)..

5. Sharp sharp, Momsy paid 80k and got me a laptop! She couldn’t be seen to be a hindrance to the 1st class her brilliant daughter would make.

6. So I took my lappy to the guy who was supposed to teach me. Baba kon dey ask for banku. That was it for me! I was so pissed and irritated at the guy and apparently he was the only one who had the “special software” at that time.

7. Days went by, weeks passed, months passed. Regina how market? Hafa that level? And I would respond “guy I don free am, shey you no wan do am unless I straff you”

8. That phase passed and years later i started hearing stories of how oyibo people were brainwashed and scammed of their life savings. Some even committed suicide! This got to me and I was highly disappointed in myself for ever thinking that way!

9. I continued studying and making good grades. Each time I looked at how hard my mom fought for my sisters and I to make something genuine of our lives it propelled me to study even harder.

10. I graduated with a 2.1 in uni, went to law school and made a 2.1 also. I served in Ibadan. I worked in a law chambers where I was paid 10k per month and was owed over 4months salary till I left...lol

11. When I moved to Lagos 4 years ago,I knew d competition wud b steep. But that didn’t deter me from pushing. I applied to 345 lawfirms/chambers on d island. In a day, I cud hv 3-4 interviews scheduled. Then I was using taxi but when money finish,I was taught d bus way

13. Baba said, “if I ask you to find the Lagos Child’s Rights law, can you find it?”. I was smiling in my mind because I knew how to use the index in libraries. So I said “yes”. He asked me to look for it. Omo, it was at the bottom of shelf and I had to bend over

12. I remember attending an interview at a firm on the island and the principal called me to his office where he had a huge shelf for law reports & compendium of laws.

14. By the time I got up, I realized Barrister was using me to self-service. I was so pissed I even threatened to report him to NBA. I left that place feeling used and dirty! The memory still irks me!

15. Fast forward, after several months of jumping from one interview to the next, I did an interview at my firm and I got the job.

16. Today I am 26 years old & I have worked on mergers and cross border transactions involving blue chip multinationals. Now I attend court, representing prestigious companies, companies everyone wants to work at. I know this is the very beginning for me and greatness awaits me.

17. Trust me, there are days I do not want to be a lawyer or even go to work. But I can assure you that I am better off earning a decent living than engaging in fraud or runs (prostitution)!

18. lesson: Do something you will be proud of. Trust the process, Life always comes through, it don’t matter how long you wait! Quick money is not always the best money! (Shey una remember MMM

19. We live in a society where corruption is subconsciously embedded in our day to day lives and it takes a while before we see it for what it is! WRONG!

20.Do something genuine! Find a solution to a problem in this country & money will come. Imagine if U provided a service that at least 1million Nigerians used daily and they had to pay you N10 each time they used that service.U will be making at least N10M daily

21. I am looking for problem to solve o, cause there’s so much legit money to be made and mans need to cash out!

22. Do not be lured into a non-sustainable way of life! Be genuine so you can enjoy your money in peace! Trust me, money will come! Remain law abiding!

THE END! What’s you own process story? Share so we can encourage one another! This country is really hard, I hope my story blesses someone

Crime › Outrage As Sudan Sentences Teenage Rape Victim To Death by damiloladuke(op): 7:23pm On May 12, 2018
Sudan has just sentenced a teenage girl to death and this has sparked online outrage in different parts of the world, as Amnesty International said she was defending herself against being raped.

Noura Hussein Hammad, 19, was handed a death sentence by a court on Thursday for the "intentional murder" of the man her father forced her to marry.

"Noura is a victim and not a killer. Noura has been raped by her husband," Sudanese novelist Hamour Zyada wrote on Facebook on Saturday (May 12), as part of a campaign tagged #justicefornoura.

"We have to come together to rescue Noura," Zyada added - a sentiment echoed by others.

"We all have to unite for rescuing Noura and to fight against marital rape," wrote prominent women's rights activist Amal Habbani on Facebook.

Several activists changed their profile pictures on Twitter and Facebook to a painting depicting a white veil and three clenched female fists, to show solidarity with Hammad.

"All Sudanese people, activists and women's organisations must unite to fight for justice for Noura," tweeted political activist Amani Ahmed.

Hammad was married against her wish to Abdulrahman Hammad at the age of 16, with the first ceremony involving the signing of a marriage contract between her father and her husband, Amnesty International said in a statement on Thursday.

In April 2017, the second part of the marriage took place when she was forced to move to her husband's home after completing high school.

When Hammad refused to consummate the marriage, her husband invited two of his brothers and a male cousin to help him rape her, the rights group alleged.

"On 2 May 2017, the three men held Noura Hussein down while Abdulrahman raped her," Amnesty International said.

"The next morning he tried to rape her again but she managed to escape to the kitchen where she grabbed a knife. In the ensuing scuffle, Abdulrahman sustained fatal knife wounds."

Hammad fled to her family home after the incident but her father handed her to the police, Amnesty said.

During her trial in July 2017, the court found her guilty of "intentional murder" after applying an outdated law that does not recognise marital rape, the rights group added.

"The way her family treated her is something that happens all the time in our community. We have to fight for her," said political activist Amjad Fareed in a Facebook post on Saturday.

In recent years, women and children's rights activists in Sudan have campaigned against forced unions and marriage of underage girls, a widespread phenomenon in a country where the law allows children over the age of 10 to marry.

Celebrities › Mercy Johnson Speaks On Divorce Rumours, Set To Have 4th Baby by damiloladuke(op): 7:40am On May 12, 2018
Nollywood actress Mercy Johnson actually started the divorce rumours on her marriage when she decided earlier this year to delete all photos on her Instagram page including that of her husband. This gave the fans and the media an insinuation that something was wrong with the marriage of the celebrity.

Although Mercy Johnson debunked the rumour a few days later by posting a cosy picture of her and her man, she never really addressed the issue until recently in an interview with Saturday Beats.

In the chat, she jokingly stated with a wide smile that she would never return the beautiful wedding ring her husband gave her.

“I did not feel bad when I read the news that my marriage was hitting the rocks because it was not true. I am very comfortable in my own space and I am not out to please anybody. I am always true to myself and I continue to be a happy person.

There was absolutely no problem between my husband and me, I only deleted the old pictures on my Instagram page. They were old so I deleted them to post new ones. I am not letting my husband go; even when he is angry, I would beg him. You see these beautiful rings that he has given to me, I am never returning them,”
she said.

The mother of three further revealed that her visit to the labour room was not over as she hopes to have another child.

“I am going to have another baby very soon. I am obsessed with children and while growing up, I had always wanted to have four children, so we have to complete the equation,”
she said.

The actress who doubles as the Senior Special Assistant on Entertainment, Arts and Culture in Kogi State was eager to speak about her most recent project which is a movie title, ‘The Lamb.’

The movie which is subtitled in Igala language, tells the story of a legendary Igala princess warrior, who, despite being the pride of her father and loved by her people, had to be sacrificed for peace.

“Not only does ‘The Lamb,’ stand out in terms of its plot and world-class production, it also evokes ancient memories in the most compelling manner. It is a thoroughly researched work that also brings to the fore, the ancient cultural relationship between the Igala people and the Edos.

One of such initiatives is the Kogi State Diaries which seeks to harness the media as a tool for telling the story of the people of the state and showcasing their cultural diversity to a global audience. The movie is co-sponsored by the Kogi State Government and directed by Frank Rajah Arase. Quite a number of upcoming acts that participated in Governor Yahaya Bello’s talent hunt show also featured in the movie.

“It has not been easy combining my roles as an actress, representative of Kogi State, a mother and a wife but I describe myself as a home girl and everything has always been about a system of priority for me.

So God comes first, my family and then work; God and my family have to be settled before we can talk about work because when I am not happy at home, I cannot function in whatever capacity I ought to function, so I have always followed my priorities. As I speak with you, if I get a call from my kids’ school and they inform me that something happened, I would leave everything I am doing and rush there,”
Mercy Johnson noted.

Celebrities › Chioma Chukwuka Akpotha: People Think I'm A Snob, I'm Only Shy by damiloladuke(op): 8:05am On May 06, 2018
As against the general perception that Nollywood actress, Chioma Akpotha, is a snub, she has opened on her real identity and according she only snubs people she doesn't know. In fact, she considers herself as a very shy person.

Speaking with Sunday Scoop, the actress admitted that a lot of people think she had an attitude problem.

She said:

“I am aware that people think I am a snob, but I am actually a shy person. My job demands that I should abandon who I am. It used to be even worse for me because I went to a single-sex school; so, relating to guys was difficult for me. However, I am adjusting now because of acting.”
According to Akpotha, she tries as much as possible to protect herself and that gives people the impression that she is a snob.

“When you meet me newly, the first impression you get is that I am cold. But I am only trying to protect myself from people I don’t know.

“If I am in a room and I know everyone there, I will be very comfortable and playful. But if I don’t know anyone, I will be cold. I am not trying to blow my trumpet; I am just saying that I need to know you to be comfortable with you,”
she said.

Despite starting acting at the age of 17, she claimed that she did not indulge in drinking or smoking like some of her peers.

She stated:

“The way my mother raised us, especially as her first daughter, there was no way I would have lived a wayward life. My late mother would have been a solider if she didn’t have a job. In Igboland, they pay so much attention to the first daughter because she must be an example to the younger ones. Also, I am allergic to smoke and many other things.

I act stupidly whenever I am high, which is not good for someone like me in public because I like to conduct myself well. I had friends who questioned why I did not smoke or drink but if you know who you are, you wouldn’t succumb to peer pressure. However, I am not saying the fact that I don’t smoke or drink makes me an extraordinary being.”
