All we knew was that Johnny Drille would one day get massive and be known all over the world. And today, his long time dream of being a popular super-star has just been brought to life by Don Jazzy.

We can confidently say Johnny Drille has spent his whole (music) life listening to country/folk song.

He released a song in the year 2015. And when you listen, you will surely be of the opinion that the song still has so much relevance in terms of contemporary tunes and sounds.


It won't just be an understatement if we mention that this guy is the next pop sensation in Nigeria as well as Africa. He definite infuse the pop culture into the Nigerian sound with so much ease, you would think it's Malik of One Direction singing in pidgin.

He is a suitable candidate for pop export from Africa to the rest of the world, most especially the Western worlds, which surely has a much influence on his type of music.

This is not even a hype, it is certain that Johnny Drille will surely take the Nigerian music industry by storm in the coming few weeks when media tours will commence for him and his new co-signees, DNA, under the stead of the Supreme Mavin Dynasty.

Don Jazzy really made a very good move signing this dude, who is an embodiment of talents. Only that one will wonder why it took this long for the deal to be accomplished. Well, now is the best time as everyone has their time.

And who understands the times better, if not the Don himself. Johnny Drille has actually found himself the platform that will catapult him to the world. It is obvious this brother is going to explode. He moved from a little known genius to an instant super star the moment he was announced as a new member of the SMD.

We know the year 2017 is Johnny's year. The combination of his raw talents with Don Jazzy's unique style of management, which even Lagos Business School graduates cannot boast of, will do the Magic.

Even Johnny Drille's previous works, which have been getting a lot of downloads in the past few hours, will sound archaic by the time he starts dishing out his new sounds under his new management.

It's no surprise that Johnny worked with one of the best producers, especially in the contemporary pop genre, Cobhams Asuquo. But one thing that we can beat our chest to is that his best is just about to be unravelled.

All we can say is Godspeed to “ Johnny Drille ” as he embarks on a the journey of putting out nothing but outstanding Good Music.

This is sincerely an absurdity of monumental proportion and a shame. Our government and regulatory agencies (if they still exist) should cover their faces in shame. I would like to ask: how much were you paid in bribe? Is this how far we are mentally bankrup? we are indeed in a big mess in this nation.


Can you imagine imported garri from India now selling in shops in Nigeria and NAFDAC approve this?
Habaaaaaa Gari again? So we finally have consigned our dear country to a dumping ground for all forms of Asian mindless madness.

Nigeria is the worlds largest producer of cassava for crying out loud but here we are shamelessly displaying Indian made garri not corn flakes on our shelves. Do we still have the Customs service, do we still have NAFDAC and other such regulatory agencies. This is indeed a shame, that must be condemned by all well meaning, patriotic and passionate Nigerians.

We do hope that if need be these government agencies who look the other way when this poorly produced products are hauled into our nation should get set to meet Nigerians on the street in hot protest. We think that it should now be enough of this broad day light rape of our economy and our collective wealth as a nation.

In the same token, we call out on Nigerian to not just condemned this shameful act but to match such condemnation with a clear statement in action refusing to purchase such foreign made goods that Nigeria has better potential to produce.

This call has become important because a great deal of Nigerians have a funny penchant for goods produced outside the shores of Nigeria even if these goods are substandard, and pose obvious threats to our health and well being.

It is instructive to note that today the WHO ranks Nigeria so low on some key health indices, that our dear Nation lags behind almost all much smaller African nations.

Dear country men and women, here is a frantic and heartfelt call to redeem what is left of our national pride. Please may we all rise to condemn the importation of garri of all thing.

Please let's rebroadcast this on all meddium of mass reach - ELECTRONIC and PRINT, until it arrives the corridors of decision making in this country

Nigerian music legend, Majek Fashek is set to drag Timi Dakolo to court . His manager, Uzoma Day Omenka, said they would be suing Timi Dakolo for using Majek’s all time hit, ‘Send down the rain’ without authorization.

He said before the end of March after their return from a trip to the United Kingdom, they would file the suit unless Dakolo can provide proof of authorization by any representative of Majek.

“We are not taking this case lightly. We are just awaiting the arrival of our solicitors from the U.S., and the UK then we will hit the courts. For crying out loud, this guy is making money from itunes and he did what he did because he thinks in Nigeria, anything goes. If he can prove as he claimed that he paid for the use of the song and he can show concrete proof of it then he will go free, but if not, we will definitely meet in court.”


When the manager visited Vanguard in January 2017 with Majek Fashek, he expressed his anger with Timi Dakolo’s lack of respect toward the veteran musician, saying,
“Timi remixed the song without the knowledge of Majek Fashek, during that period that I was in the US. When I came back I heard the song on iTunes where people were downloading it and they were making money, I was surprised. As a sign of respect he would have come to meet the legend because the song is not an ordinary song.

When we asked Timi what happened, he said he spoke with the manager. I was now asking, who is the manager? Am I not the manager and didn’t he speak with me? People started saying all kinds of things thinking I knew something about the it.”
When Majek himself was asked about the issue he playfully referred us to his manager with a shrug, “Well, I don’t want to talk about young artistes, he is a kid. Let my manager speak on that.”

In 2016, Timi took to his Instagram page to react to the accusation.He said,
“My people, it saddens me to see such. I always try to do things rightly and lawfully,” Dakolo, who is also a judge on The Voice Nigeria, said in an Instagram post.”

“I paid his manager to remake the song, I got my invoice, I even mentioned to him during our rehearsals at the Headies. So, honestly I don’t understand this write-up.”

“Oga Majek Fashek. I respect and love you. Your voice gives life to lyrics. You are one of the best musicians I know. God bless you.”

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has clarified Nigerians on what they do with recovered stolen funds. According to the EFCC, they are not chopping these monies and they are doing the needful by returning them to the rightful owners.

On a FAQ section on their website, they wrote:

Monies recovered are returned to the rightful owners. It could be an individual, organisation or the state. In the case of the State, the monies are paid into the Consolidated Revenue Fund of the Federation.
