Former Big Brother Naija housemate, Tokunbo Idowu, popularly known as TBoss, was recently called out by an individual over her closeness with Lilian Esoro’s embattled husband, Ubi Franklin. Reports have it that Ubi Franklin and Lilian Esoro are in the final stage of their divorce after being separated for a while. However, TBoss told Sunday Scoop that she had known Franklin for 16 years, even before meeting Esoro. She said: “I don’t see why I should not respond to people whenever they say rubbish on my page if I feel like doing so. I don’t understand why people are concerned that I was hanging out with my friend. The former BBN contestant also insisted that Franklin was already separated before they started hanging out. She said “I don’t know why people are always on my case. Does it mean I cannot talk to a man without people insinuating I am having an affair with him? Fans of Beyonce are still freaking out after the bedroom photos of their queen and her husband Jay Z surfaced on social media. The photo, apparently taken from their On The Run II Tour clips, shows the couple stretching out in bed. While Beyonce is dressed in just a thong as she gazed at the puzzle page of a newspaper, Jay Z puffs on a cigar. In a second photo, Jay scoops Beyonce in his arms. And the photos have gotten everyone talking, especially because this is the first time the couple would ever be posing for such shots. Taking to Instagram, one user wrote: ‘GOD DAMN BEYONCE’, while another posted: ‘I love this on every level.’ Outrageous pictures have been a theme of the pair’s current tour, with many fans believing a snap of Beyonce showed her holding twins Sir and Rumi, when actually, and weirdly, it was just two random babies. Beyonce and Jay Z recently started the UK leg of their On The Run II tour, showing never-before-seen footage of them renewing their wedding vows During the show’s finale – set to Forever Young – videos from the family album were played on massive screens, showing Beyonce rocking a huge baby bump and Jay cuddling their daughter Blue Ivy.. https://lailasnews.com/beyonce-and-jay-z-break-the-internet-with-racy-bedroom-photo/ lalasticlala

Nollywood actor Yomi Fabiyi has intervened in the rumoured feud going on between top actresses Mercy Aigbe and Toyin Abraham. And according to him, he has pleaded with Aigbe on Toyin's behalf. Recall that Toyin had, in a series of comments, attacked Aigbe, calling her a hypocrite. She wrote, “Mercy pushed me to the extreme. Alabosi ni e Mercy (you are a hypocrite). I don’t have issues with them. Agbaya ni e (you are an old fool)…” In another post, she wrote, “Mercy, anytime you see your colleagues fighting anyone that is when you write epistle…” Even though Abraham later stated that it was all a stunt, Yomi Fabiyi, who had stood up for Mercy online, disagrees. In a chat with Sunday Scoop, Yomi said: “It was never a stunt and it is common sense to know that such a weighty allegation can never pass for a stunt. I know better and I can clearly spot the danger that lies within if that deceit is allowed to fly. It is becoming a menace. On the allegations that Mercy played a role in Abraham’s marriage collapse, Fabiyi said: “It is untrue. It is so sad that she took to social media to do that. It would be a grave sin if someone like me sees that and keeps quiet. We are all one big family. I have since sent Mercy a message to forgive her (Toyin) and hopefully, she understands that such approach without just or honest reasons is tantamount to cyber bullying, defamation and abuse. It does not have a place among us. These are things that can easily lead to terrible attacks.https://lailasnews.com/ive-begged-mercy-aigbe-to-forgive-toyin-abraham-yomi-fabiyi/ lalasticlala

It was earlier reported in various news media that the Supreme court had ordered the management of Guaranty Trust Bank, GTBank to pay a sum of N12 billion to the CEO of Innoson Motors, Mr Innoson Chukwuma. The bridge at the Children’s Amusement Park located at the Ikemba Ojukwu Centre in Owerri, Imo, built by Gov. Rochas Okorocha has collapsed. Witnesses at the scene told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Owerri on Wednesday that nobody was killed or injured in the incident. The incident which caused pandemonium in the area, gave room for criticism by some parents whose children visited the place on May 27 during the 2018 Children’s Day Celebration. The bridge, being a major tourism site, has been used to generate funds for the state government. When contacted, the State Commissioner for Happiness and Purpose Fulfillment, Mrs Ogechi Ololo, said she had yet to be briefed on the cause of the incident. Mr Collins Ibe, who witnessed the incident, said that the windstorm that accompanied the downpour might be responsible for the collapsed of the bridge. Another witness, Mrs Mary Nlemadim, said: “It is unfortunate that this is happening in the state, especially at a place that is supposed to be a recreation centre. “I thank God that it happened in the night when people were not around; otherwise, there might have been casualties. “I urge the state government and engineers working on construction projects in the state to be more dedicated and thorough,” she said. Also, an Engineer, Mr Okechukwu Uba said: “There is need to critically look at all the construction projects going on in the state. “This is necessary to avoid unnecessary waste of resources, time and human capacity. “These projects need to get proper approval from professional hands or bodies; they also need to be properly supervised by qualified and experienced personnel. “Again, they have to be done systematically and not many things at the same time. “These projects need to be finished up in a tidy manner and subjected to stress tests where necessary, before being opened to the public,’’ he said. The state Chairman of the Nigeria Society of Engineers, Mr Emeka Ugoanyawu, had earlier warned against substandard engineering work in the state. Also, the National President of Council for the Regulation of Engineers in Nigeria (COREN) Mr Kashim Ali, had recently faulted the quality of a flyover constructed by the Okorocha administration, located at Orji. Ali, as a matter of urgency, urged Gov. Rochas Okorocha, to stop work on the flyover. https://lailasnews.com/another-bridge-built-by-rochas-okorocha-collapses-in-owerri/ lalasticlala

Nigeria and Ghana reportedly top the online global search for abortion pill Misoprostol the last decade, according to a report derived from Google data. The findings also suggest that in countries where abortion laws are more restrictive, there is greater search interest in abortion pills. By buying pills online and sharing medical advice through WhatsApp groups, women are increasingly turning to technology to sidestep legal barriers to abortion. At least 22,800 women die each year from complications of unsafe abortion, the Guttmacher Institute reported. This is the modern face of the so-called Do It Yourself abortion (DIY abortion). BBC analysis of Google searches shows that countries with the strictest laws, where abortion is allowed only to save a woman’s life or banned altogether, have over 10 times higher search interest in abortion pill Misoprostol compared to countries with no restrictions. About 14% of all abortions were “least safe”, which means they were provided by untrained persons using dangerous methods, such as the introduction of foreign objects and use of herbal concoctions. Ghana only allows abortions in cases of rape, incest, foetal impairment or to preserve a woman’s mental health. Nigeria is stricter still: abortion is only allowed in situations where a woman’s life is in danger. Of the 25 countries with highest search interest in Misoprostol, 11 are in Africa and 14 in Latin America. All but two, Zambia and Mozambique either ban abortions altogether or allow them only to save a woman’s life or health. The findings also suggest that in countries where abortion laws are more restrictive, there is greater search interest in abortion pills. By buying pills online and sharing medical advice through WhatsApp groups, women are increasingly turning to technology to sidestep legal barriers to abortion. There are two main methods of inducing abortion; surgical and medical. A medical abortion typically involves taking a combination of pills, Misoprostol and Mifeprostone, to induce a miscarriage. Misoprostol can also go by brand names like Cytotec. While women in countries such as the UK will be prescribed this combination by a doctor, women searching for and purchasing the pills online in countries where access to abortion is restricted are often breaking the law, risking severe punishments. https://lailasnews.com/nigeria-ghana-top-world-abortion-pill-searches-report-says/ lalasticlala

British born Nigerian football star Dele Alli was booed every time he touched the ball during the pre-World Cup friendly match yesterday between Nigeria and England. And Nigerians have revealed the reason behind their action of the popular social media platform, twitter. Bamidele Jermaine Alli, popularly known as Dele Alli, is an English professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur and the England national team. Born on April 11, 1996 to Nigerian father, Kenny and English mother, Denise, Alli was raised in Milton Keynes. In the run-up to the World Cup when a national team was being assembled for Nigeria, Alli opted to play for his country of birth, England. This didn’t seem to sit well with Nigerian football fans who see his decision as not good enough. Dele Alli is not new to controversy, though, as FIFA once banned the England midfielder for one international match following his middle-finger gesture in the 2018 World Cup qualifier against Slovakia late 2017. He was also fined 5,000 Swiss francs (£3,852) by the governing body, which described the gesture as “offensive and unsporting.” Nigerians took to Twitter to discuss why Alli was booed throughout the Nigeria-England Friendly, which England won 2:1. See reactions below: Nigerian fans booing Dele Ali 'cause he snubbed his fatherland for England, I bet most English fans don't even know he's half Nigerian #ENGNGAhttps://lailasnews.com/why-we-booed-dele-alli-nigerian-football-lovers/ lalasticlala

The Evangelical Church Winning All, ECWA, on Saturday has advocated that the Dapchi girl in Boko Haram custody Leah Sharibu should be awarded a Nobel Prize. The newly inaugurated ECWA President, Rev. Stephen Panya Baba, made the disclosure while delivering his inaugural speech on the occasion of his installation, at the Church’s headquarters in Jos, the Plateau State capital. The ECWA President said: “The population of persecuted Christians, widows, orphans and vulnerable children and the poor generally in our churches and mission fields has reached astronomical levels. “Apart from natural causes and other socio-political factors like ethnic and tribal clashes, the murderous activities of radical Islamists like Boko Haram and some Fulani herdsmen who are jihadists, have contributed very greatly to the rise in the number of widows and orphans in many of our churches today. “We are also still calling for intensified action by the Federal Government to secure the release of the remaining Chibok girls and of recent, Leah Sharibu, who is being held captive by Boko Haram, for the singular reason that she has refused to deny her faith in our saviour and Lord Jesus Christ.” According to him, Leah deserves a Nobel prize for her strength of spirit and courage in the midst of “pain and suffering”. “We call on the international community to act on behalf of Leah Sharibu like they did Malala Yousfzai. “Let us remember that peace is merely an illusion unless anchored on the bedrock of justice. “Without justice in our society peace is a mirage, a fleeting shadow beyond grasp”. “It is for this reason that I call on governments and authorities at all levels to ensure that justice flows like a river in our land by giving each citizen his or her due inspite of religion, tribe, creed or social standing. That is the real way to peace and progress. “When this happens, the evils and wickedness that have plagued our country will be eliminated,” Baba stressed. https://lailasnews.com/leah-sharibu-should-be-awarded-a-nobel-prize-ecwa/

Internet sensation Mamoudou “Spider-Man” Gassama has not only become a real life hero, but the building where the dramatic rescue took place Paris, has become an unlikely attraction and the city’s hottest spot for a selfie. Since Gassama’s extraordinary feat last Saturday, when he scaled four floors with his bare hands to rescue a child, crowds of Parisians have stopped by to gaze up at the balconies that have featured on television screens worldwide. Seeing it for real, most have been left even more impressed by Gassama’s athleticism that saw him jump from one floor to the next, each time hauling himself up toward the four-year-old boy dangling above. “Since Saturday, it hasn’t stopped,” Chantal, who lives in the bloc in the 18th Arrondissement of northern Paris, told AFP, giving only her first name. “Every day people have been coming to look at it themselves.” A crowd of people were gathered when AFP visited on Thursday, taking photographs with their mobile phones and expressing wonder at the heroics that earned Gassama a fast-track to French nationality and a job in the fire service. The Malian migrant, 22, arrived illegally in France in September 2017 and had been working in the construction industry before his Spider-Man-style climbing propelled him to global superstardom. Visibly shy and uncomfortable in front of the cameras, Gassama began a new life as a trainee fireman this week after signing a contract with the Paris service. The father of the rescued child is being prosecuted and will face court in September for having left his child while he went shopping. https://lailasnews.com/spider-mans-building-becomes-tourist-attraction-center-in-paris/ lalasticlala

I totally got disoriented after receiving my PPA letter and it was like Heaven came down on me. What could have gone wrong? I said to myself and I just couldn’t understand the whole situation. I tried getting in touch with the other corps members, but they were out of touch. The bus that will convey us down to Awka arrived and I downcastedly entered and just got a spot to sit and shot myself into space. So many thoughts flashed through my mind. I thought of my Exes, especially the ones we parted on not too good grounds. Could one of them be responsible for my predicament? Or they all have a hand in this. I remember one telling me, ‘’the hunter will be hunted in the nearest future’’ Could it be her, or could it even be from my family? Or the man at the bank hated me and may be preferred the other candidates as it happened they all schooled at UNIBEN. I thought of so many things. I was so engrossed in my thoughts, I didn’t realize the bus had started moving. Then everyone in the bus, like they were on a cosmotic remote, started calling home and telling them about their areas of postage. The guy beside me was speaking in a language I never even knew if it was Nigerian in nature or the guy just came here to Nationalise from Sudan. All I could get from his call was he was posted to a Computer Company and he was so happy he could not contain himself. I had no one to call. At a point, I decided to call my best friend, Faisal and told him about the whole thing. What would he say? It’s God’s plan, go for it, you probably have some lives to impact over there, maybe that was why you are being posted to a secondary school. As if the people over there have lost touch with their roots and I would be the one to reconnect them. We finally got to the Local Government and we had the registration and other protocols done. I secured accommodation at the RCCG Corpers Family house so I just boarded a bus and went straight to relax and think of what next step I will be taking. While in the bus, there was this pretty lady sitting by me and I decided to just get off my troubles for a while and started up a chat with her. ‘’What is your name?’’ I asked. ‘’Chineeeeelo’’ she replied with a very deep igbo accent. ‘’Am Damilola and am a new corper for this town, will you like to be my friend?’’ ‘’No plobrem’’ She replied ‘’Hope you are the flendly type’’ ‘’Of course I am, I am even a friend to Osama’’ she just smiled We exchanged numbers and I even paid for her transport fare. Getting to the family house, we were all welcomed and treated as freshers. The Papa , which is the title they give to the president addressed us and we were all asked to introduce ourselves, which we all did. In the family house, there are some set of rules you have to follow, you are not allowed to wear short knickers as brothers, no listening to worldly music, no singlet except in your rooms, and no argument as well as fighting and all sorts. I knew from that moment I was not gonna stay there. I later went to see the Papa and informed him about my situation. And if its possible for me to get rejected at my PPA and proceed to the bank. He said its possible, but how sure am I that God did not have a hand in my posting. It could be that he was trying to protect from an unforeseen disaster that could happen to me if I was posted to the bank in Onitsha. He tried to tell me of the vices that happen over there and why it might not be a safe haven for corps members. I just kept mute and thought to my self that So the corpers for Onitsha get winch, na why disaster never catch them. I thanked him and left. I tried calling the guy at the bank and asked what could have happened. He said he was surprised to have seen different corps members posted to their bank despite the fact that they sent our names to the NYSC. Well I guess those ones were connected, they were rejected anyway. The man then asked me to work my rejection at my PPA and then go to a nearby bank of their branch in Awka to get accepted , I will then be transferred from that branch to their branch in Onitsha. I was so happy as that brought a spark of hope. At least I still stand a chance of working my way to the bank. The following day, I went to the school and tried my possible best to convince the Principal of the school to at least reject me, that am not that good at teaching and it wouldn’t be fair allowing me to stand before kids and not able to make impact on their lives through my teachings. The man was just looking at me and waited till I was done babbling. He said ‘’Mr Man, I requested for corps members, you won’t be the one to tell me if am to reject you or not and for your information, I need an Agricultural Science Teacher, which you happen to be one’’ ‘’But sir, am not a teacher, I didn’t study education’’ ‘’You at least went to the University, right?’’ ‘’Yes sir’’ I replied ‘’Then we can work together, I love University graduates’’ This man must be the devil, I said to myself, wetin concern me with your love for University graduates, why you no kuku love Kindergarten graduates, shoro niyen. I left his office in anger and frustration , it was 12pm and I didn’t even realize I had not taken breakfast. I stopped at a restaurant on my way home and asked the madam to give me rice N50 and beans N20. She just looked at me said, ‘’E be like say you just come here, na per plate we dey sell for here and plate na N200’’ I didn’t reply her, I just carried my folder and stepped out. I crossed the road to get Sausage and pure water, when I saw this guy that was speaking a ‘foreign’ language in the bus. ‘’Guy, how far, them accept you?’’ ‘’Yes ooo, my brother, I was accepted, but you won’t believe the Computer Company was a shop’’ ‘’Shop ke’’ I exclaimed ‘’When did NYSC start posting people to shops?’’ ‘’I tire oo’’ It was at that moment I knew I was in a better place, not even realizing my stay in Awka was gonna be the best thing that ever happened to me. |

Governor Abubakar Sani Bello of Niger State has mentioned on Tuesday evening that he did not make any promise to the people of the state during his 2015 governorship election campaign. Bello also said that he has decided to seek reelection next year following clamour from various quarters in the state for him to do so. He made the remarks in Government House at a media event. “I did not make any promise while campaigning in 2015. One thing we did during our campaign was that we made sure we did not make promise to the people “If we had promised heaven on earth, we would have faced problems from the public because there were a lot of problems.” The governor added that he did not make any promise to the people because “there was high expectation from the people; adding, “we realised the high expectation, so we did not make promise.” Bello said that his administration experienced poor revenue at inception to the extent that the income from the Federation Account dropped to as low as N2b monthly. “With this, we could not do anything. We thank God that we did not make any promise. We would not have been able to fulfill any promise.” He said that he would seek re-election on the platform of the All Progressives Congress next year, following the requests for him to seek a second term by people of goodwill across the state. “We will go for re-election; it is good to have a second term. By God’s grace we will win,” he said Defending his decision to seek re-election Bello said: “A lot of things which we planted cannot mature in four years. We need more time to make them to come to fruition. We appeal to ‘Nigerlites’ to re-elect us so that we can complete what we have started because I don’t feel accomplished.” https://lailasnews.com/i-didnt-promise-anything-during-my-2015-campaign-gov-bello-of-niger/ lalasticlala

A Kenyan prostitute identified as Jane Watiri who claimed to have earned N70,000 in Nigerian currency per night, has dumped the oldest trade in the world to become a pastor as well as a motivational speaker. According to Watiri, she was a destroyer driven by vengeance against men. She was not on Koinange Street – the city’s red-light-district just for the money, but also for revenge. Her actions are as a result of an heartbreak she suffered which she now turned into a personal vendetta against all men. “I was not the average prostitute. I was quite dangerous. I used to steal from my clients. I would carry everything; clothes, shoes, phones, keys and even wedding rings which I sold for Sh3,000 in Eastleigh. I used to really mess up those men. I had some friends who would take me out to clubs and reggae nights when I was 14,” she recalls. The teenager then sunk into a life of clubbing and alcoholism as her mother watched helplessly. When she was 16, Ms Watiri was arrested, charged with loitering and jailed at Lang’ata Women’s Prison for a month. When she got out, she met a young man, fell in love, got pregnant and got married. “One day, he left me for an older woman and there I was, 17 years old, with a baby boy, no education and no job. I was very angry,” she says. She was in Koinange street seven years: “I wanted to hurt men the way the father of my child did to me. Bitterness and unforgiveness can really destroy your life.” She says she would change her look weekly so as not to be recognised by clients she had stolen from. The life of a sex worker, according to Ms Watiri, is punctuated by dangerous clients, drug and alcohol abuse, arrests, disease and death. While majority of clients would pay for sex, others just wanted to be in the company of a woman and have someone to pour out their hearts to. Others demanded unusual activities and would threaten with guns and other weapons if the sex-workers did not comply. Many of her colleagues died on the job. Some would be killed in hotel rooms and others would get into clients’ vehicles and vanish or be found dead in a ditch. According to Nation.co.ke Watiri who has a baby said there were times she would drug her baby to make him sleep throughout the night or just leave him to cry himself to sleep. She would carry two rolls of marijuana, one soaked in petroleum which would knock out the client, and the other one for her, to put her in the mood for work. “In our days we did not have what people today call mchele. That was the surest way of drugging your client,” she says. But now Watiri travels round the country to motivate young people on how to live their lives to the fullest and not give in to worldly pleasures. https://lailasnews.com/kenyan-prostitute-who-used-to-make-n70000-night-turns-pastor/ lalasticlala |

Former Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria, Iheoma Nnadi, and new bride to former Super Eagles striker, Emmanuel Emenike, has called out her wedding planner just a day after the wedding. Iheoma took to her Insta-live to appreciate everyone that made her day at the wedding and also used the medium to blast the wedding planner, who, according to her, did a very shoddy job. She claimed that the lady who had no idea of how to plan a wedding, decided to bring her personal attributes to work and it was a total turn off. Emenike and Iheoma, who was the 2014 Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria, have been dating since May 2016 and got engaged in September 2016. The couple wedded in a ceremony in Lekki, Lagos that was attended by some of his former Super Eagles teammates. They has their traditional wedding late 2017 before rounding off the nuptials ritual yesterday at the extravagant event in Lagos The Olympiakos striker who is now off that market was in the past linked with several Nollywood actresses including Ebube Nwagbo. He shockingly announced his retirement from international duty in October 2015 following alleged fisticuffs with former Super Eagles coach Sunday Oliseh, but reports say current Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr is making efforts to bring-back the striker. https://lailasnews.com/new-bride-iheoma-nnadi-blasts-wedding-planner-a-day-after-her-wedding/ lalasticlala

A Lagos State High Court has ordered the writer/publisher of Our Daily Manna, Rev Chris Kwakpovwe and the Registered Trustees of the Chapel of Liberty Church to pay a lawyer, Tamara Egbedi, N9, 454,000, for negligence. According to TheNation, Egbedi had gone to court after she lost seven teeth and suffered other injuries when she fell into an uncovered concrete gutter running in between the seats during an anointing service organised by Kwakpovwe at the National Stadium in Lagos in 2010. Delivering judgement in suit no. LD/359/2011, Justice SBA Candide Johnson said that from the evidence adduced by the parties, it was clear that Ms. Tamara suffered injuries at the venue while attending the crusade. “It is difficult not to observe that for the Defendants who put themselves forward as spiritual shepherds of their sheep that they appear to have demonstrated scant care and concern for victims of their January 2010 spiritual crusade and have likewise by the letter of their lawyers (Exhibit F) dared this Claimant to go to Court, the Defendants appear to have elected carnal warfare over spiritual warfare thus leaving it to the Courts of Law to intervene,” he said. Continuing, the judge said: “It is virtually ridiculous for Rev. Dr. Chris E. Kwakpovwe to invite the general public and the Claimant to a programme which they expected to and which “recorded a huge attendance” and then without any remorse or conscience, argue that they only rented space at the National Stadium so he and his religious ministry owed no duty of care or concern for the welfare and safety of the guests they had invited to their own spiritual “party” or event organized by their church. It is this type of reckless impunity and consciencelessness that makes many people complain about callousness and wickedness in Nigeria.” She said she informed Rev. Kwakpovwe at the end of the service. She said the defendants denied liability and insinuated that her threat to go to court smacked of gold digging and expressed readiness to “meet you in court.” https://lailasnews.com/church-ordered-to-pay-n9m-to-member-who-lost-7-teeth-during-crusade/

A Nigerian man has taken to twitter to narrate a shocking experience he had on a Lagos highway. According to him, he encountered a couple three years back whom he assisted with some cash only to see them begging on same issue yesterday. In his narration, he explained that the couple approached him in 2015 soliciting fior help on behalf of their dieing son who needed N75,000 for a medical emergency. He compassionately gave them N25,000. He was however surprised to have spotted them three years later at another location begging for same cause. He wrote on twitter: 3years ago I met this couples at Ikeja City Mall crying and begging me for alms that their sick baby is dying in the hospital and needed N75,000. I gave out N25,000 being sympathetic about the child. Today I met this same couples again with the same story line.A followers in his reaction mentioned that he didn't have to conclude they were begging for same cause Oh! I see. In that case, you shouldn't have concluded they were at the spot begging for alms using the same story they told you years back. Your assumption may be wrong. He then responded saying: I'm sure you're not a Nigerian or a Lagosian, so wait till you encounter them. The driver of that Honda you're seeing in the picture had to wind up to avoid their annoying attitude. I'd to pull over so I can confirm they were the ones and to be sure of what they where doing.https://lailasnews.com/man-spots-couple-he-helped-3-years-ago-begging-on-same-issue/ lalasticlala
