Thanks a lot. I also noticed the milk thing. Without milk his poo is firm but once I add it it become loose. I appreciate. Please any other example of soy based formular aside isomil incase I dont get that particular brand

Graciouscharis:

An old paed once told me that in situations like this, stop using the milk and try a soy based formula like isomil. You can gradually introduce the formula back at least 2 days after it stops. Maybe you should consider this.

Don’t forget to keep the baby well hydrated and your motherly instinct is always right until proven wrong.

Just saw this, your baby MAY BE (please see emphasis oh, I no be doctor) lactose intolerant. Was he taking milk before? I still think you should see a doctor and let them run test first before administering any drugs so you know what you're treating

Thanks. He has been taking formular since 3 months. Just don't know what went wrong. His poo has been firm all d while ftom tom brown intake and not daily. Suddenly yellowish seedlike loose poo with little mucus started about 5 times daily. Thanks for always been there.
Health / Re: NEW BORN BABIES! Are U A New Mum? Then Lets Discuss Babies Here!!!!! by Damisinto: 7:51am On Jan 18, 2018
This is d situation we are in now its 5 days already and am confused. He used malaria drugs on thursday and tge frequent poo started, was initially thinking d leonart caused it but after d completion of the medication it still continued. Was told to get cefu* yesterdsy an antibiotics, but pooed 3 times ovetnight. Am just confused, had to tell his caregiver to up her neatness but still d same and it seems to me like his milk also causes it cos once he takes any cereal with milk d poo will be immediate yellowish watery with seeds like new born and little mucous. Did u stop milk when yours was on?

uote author=spiceeamiee post=64295439]I know this is coming late but if after 5days of watery stool and a doctor is still telling you zinc and ORS, Please carry your baby to another hospital. I know the pain and anguish associate with seeing your baby this way so please I beg you, go somewhere else and don't mind anybody saying you should leave it cos it's teething.

Thanks, ll find time on a weekend to try d rice pudding out. Happy new year.

spiceeamiee:
It's nutribom I finally bought, the Apple and banana one. Oatmeal is your normal Quaker oats ground to fine powder, take 2sppons of the oatmeal powder and add water to form a runny paste. I usually add one spoon of soyabean powder too. Put on fire and stir continuously until you get the texture you want. Sweeten with fruit puree or milk or both. Someone taught me how to make something similar to Heinz rice pudding. Boil your rice, cook until overdone. Do not add salt. Pour into your blender, add a dash of butter and deboned fish and blend to a fine paste. Your baby's rice pudding is ready.

Hello teamie, buy nutribom comes in rice wheat oats bananana and apple and also mixgrain. U can choose whichever u want. I started giving him one week ago amd so far it has been going well. I bought mixgrain (contains rice wheat oat and I think maize) and please whats oatmeal?
Buy cerelac it contains milk

spiceeamiee:
Good morning. I am not in Lagos right now and my baby's Gerber cereal finished two days ago. She has only been taking Tombrown and oatmeal but the babe sef don tire. I went searching for cereals and all I found were 6months and above. She will be 6months in a week's time, can I buy one of the cereals and start giving her now cos i tried to feed her Tombrown this morning and she refused to take it. No light here sef to puree anything so our options are very limited.

Also suggestions for creamy porridge (those cereals that you only add water, no need to add milk) will be highly welcome.

Yes I ll reduce it and try sweet potatoes and other things, as for formular NO NO, he doesn't like it at all, ve tried various brands still d same, infact my fear is he isn't taking d daily milk requirements but......., I had to hurriedly introduce gerber from 4 months and pap 4 months and teo weeks and then tom brown at 5 months cos he lost weight greatly just within a month of resuming work as his caregiver says he refuses his milk if not I would have done just BM plus formular till 6 monthd before introducing anything. He likes pap and tom brown a lot if he doesn't taste d milk in it. Thanks I appreciate I ll reduce d frequency and thickness

Giddyperson:
Since it's affecting his poop then it's advisable to reduce the frequency. Does he not take formular? If he accepts milk from bottles then try to replace some of his meals with formular. You can try blended sweet potatoes sometimes, it has a lot of fiber and makes pooping easy

I don't give Tom Brown so I don't know, however solid foods change the consistency of baby's poo. So far it's not loose like diarrhoea and he's not constipated he's fine

Thanks ma

Oh! Never knew am not meant to ggive more than once, he takes gerber supported sitter in d morning and tom brownSsSS till I come from work to give breast. Thanks I ll try to do varieties

uote author=Giddyperson post=63478020]We've never taken Tombrown but my baby's poop got much darker when we started taking the brown pap and it goes back light on weekends when we don't take any pap, so I don't think the color is anything to worry about. About the hard poo, hope you don't give him Tom brown more than once a day, keep giving a lot of water and is he straining to poop cuz it might not be hard at all, maybe what you are seeing is just a thicker version of breastmilk poop, which is still ok. with solids expect him to poop twice or thrice a day now cuz there's a lot of the food the body won't use unlike breastmilk.
Mamas that blend millet and co without soaking, pls research well about it o
My mum told me it has something to do with digesting easily for babies.

It's a long process of soaking and drying, them frying before storage but all na for a greater advantage.

Health / Re: NEW BORN BABIES! Are U A New Mum? Then Lets Discuss Babies Here!!!!! by Damisinto: 8:22pm On Dec 11, 2017
Green poo sometimes mean ur baby isnt getting enough nnutrients, follow d instructions '1 scoop of milk to 30mls of water- as probably its too watery also ensure ur baby empties one breast before switching to d next breat as he/she might just be taking d foee milk ftom ur breast (watery) and leaving behind d hind milk (rich in nutrients). It might also b a result of d change of formular. Cant really say

author=katchycouture post=63194532]Hello house

I changed my baby's food from NAN to SMA because she suddenly stopped taking nan and for 1 week she only took breastmilk.. now she poops green watery something, I didn't let it bother me because she would only poo after each feeding but today she has poopd 5 times and they are green, seedy and watery.. should I be worried and wait for her stomach to get used to the new baby milk or should I stop the SMA entirely
Paedietricians strongly discourage mixing there are many awesome body lotions like chocco aveeno johnson etc even natural products like coconu oil original shea butter so why mixing?
Are u sure its skin rashes? Anyway try powders like agnesia or rising...its effective. My own view though

No breast milk within the ten hours cos I ll b off for work just d nan 1. Thanks as I introduced pap and I was told he prefers d pap (fortified with his milk). So I guess he doesn't like d milk

Do you complement with breastmilk? If no, then 180mls in 10hrs is rather small.

Please mothers, can u give me an estimate of the quantity of milk a four month two weeks old should consume at once. My son consumes just about 180mls between 7am to 5pm, I was told he prefers drinking just water which I also noticed. He is developing well but I just feel I should probably be worried as I feel 180mls in 10hours is small. Please kindly share your opinion. I give him nan 1.
