​After years of waiting, Facebook Lite is now available for iOS devices after been available for Android back in 2015.

When Facebook Lite for Android was launched, it was rolled out globally, but it seems different for iOS users. Facebook Lite for iOS is rolling out to some countries where unlimited (or even cheap) data plans aren't as prevalent, hence the rollout starting in such countries does make a bit of sense.

As of the time of this publication, users in Turkey were able to install this app. The roll out is not global for iOS yet, possibly it should be at some later point.

Facebook Lite is very fast, consumes less data, space, RAM and resources, unlike the Facebook's normal app.

Facebook Lite for iOS is quite smaller in size than the normal Facebook's app. It's just 5MB on iOS and it also uses less battery and significantly less data.

Patoranking performed his most recent hit single; “Heal The World” at the Miseducation of Lauryn Hill Show in Dallas, US. The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill is the debut solo album by American singer and rapper Lauryn Hill which was released in 1998 and the iconic singer use the tour to celebrate 20 years of her classical debut album.

Mr Eazi had earlier performance at the show days before Patoranking but the dancehall act delivered a great performance with the song he promised to perform on every stage, Heal The World.

“Heal The World” was released in August and since its release, it has been on top major music charts across the continent as a result of it’s strong message and exceptional video.

Popular Nigerian artiste Timaya says Innocent ‘2baba’ Idibia is the only one that can call himself a legend among the active artistes in the Nigerian music industry.

Timaya, real name Enitimi Alfred Odom, decried the situation where artistes start referring to themselves as legends after making music for a decade.

The Bam Bam crooner said this during a radio interview with SoundCity FM , stressing he wouldn’t even refer himself as a ‘legend’.

“In this part of the world, many artistes when they get to 10 years, they start shouting ‘I’m a legend’, ‘legendary’.

“To me, in this industry, the only person that can call himself a legend is 2face. The others shouldn’t. Even if people call me a legend, I don’t like to be seen like that.”

The 38-year-old dancehall star then argued that he is still the king of commercial music in the country.

“The crown never leaves. I am Timaya anytime any day, 13 years is not three years.

“People don’t understand that making a hit song doesn’t mean you are a star. Stars always shine, some people can make a hit song and you will never hear of them again. There’s no year I’ve never dropped a hit song.

“I don’t want to be number one. I just want to be a musician. A lot of people have come and gone but I’m still here.”

Nigeria’s pop star and one of the country’s biggest music export, Davido was listed by BBC with Mr. Eazi to perform alongside Chance The Rapper, Pusha T, Stefflon don among other international artiste at the BBC 1xtra Live show which took place last weekend at the 02.London.

Davido who has been in Osun for a week campaigning for his Uncle gubernatorial election, and giving out performances at PDP’s rally left the country on Friday after the whole rally for his BBC performance on Saturday and still pulled out a wonderful and energetic performance that wowed the crowd at the 02.London (BBC 1xtra).

Still on the Wizkid drag season. Some allegations were made against Wizkid on the Loose Talk Podcast, ‘that there was a time the Starboy locked up Dammy Krane & May D in a room and started giving them drugs such as cocaine to get sounds and melody from the singers’.

According to NYSC Bye Laws which strongly advised her members not to take part in any political campaigns whatsoever, Davido might be penalized with an extension of 3 months in his service, and may not get paid.

One of The Bye-Laws states that: “Any member who takes part in partisan politics is liable to extension of service for a period not less than three (3) months without pay.”

Nigerian ace film maker, Kunle Afolayan , has said he is targeting the Oscars with his upcoming movie, Mokalik.

The movie director and filmmaker made this known during a recent interview with Punch Nigeria. He said he was motivated to shoot Mokalik to tell the world that education should not be limited to the four walls of a classroom.

He said;

“I am not shooting this as a commercial film, I am targeting Oscars and that is why it is an indigenous film. This is a story close to my heart,”

Kunle Afolyan also spoke on actresses offering sex for movie roles. He boasted that no one dared come up to him with such offer.

The film maker said;

“Personally I have never encountered a situation whereby an actress would offer me sex for a movie role. They would not even dare come to me. They say that I am proud.

“The social media may have some advantages, but it also has a lot of disadvantages. It is only in the past that people would say that a director asked an actress for sex in exchange for a movie role. These days, some actresses would reach out to the movie director or producer and tell him that they would do anything just to be in the film.

“Hardly would they say such to me. Such a thing does not come to me and if it ever happens, I will just wave it aside. I will not respond.”

A police inspector, Philip Kolo and a yet-to-be-identified commercial motorcycle rider, lost their lives on Wednesday in a train crash around PWD bus stop, Ikeja, Lagos State.

The rider had reportedly attempted to beat the oncoming train and cross the rail track when they were trapped and crushed to death.

Kolo was based in Abuja and was on an official assignment with his team members in Lagos.

According to reports he train had been blaring from a distance, which made other road users to stay off its track.

It was said that passersby had cautioned the motorcycle rider to wait, but he resisted the warning in a desperate attempt to beat the train.

An official of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority said the incident happened around 10.30am.

The Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Chike Oti, said the corpses had been deposited in the Lagos Mainland Hospital mortuary

Just like most young girls out there, Desire Chinenye‘s dream is to become a top model and ace photographer Mofe Bamuyiwa is helping her actualize that dream.

After a life-changing accident, gas explosion survivor Desire has overcome all the obstacles life has thrown her way and we are truly inspired by her strength.

I saw @stainlessdesire story on my friend’s phone while she was scrolling and reading blogs and gossips.

I don’t like blogs and I don’t know how Desire’s story caught my attention.

While I was reading her story at the end of it, she said her dream was to be a top model.

I thought that was deep! She must have told God about her dreams to be a top model and this accident happened to her. How depressing and hopeless can this be …. but she stood strong and overcame the fears of tomorrow. How did I get through to her?

This is Desire’s story: Desire’ they say is the key to motivation. Before the whole fire, I used to have this big dreams I want to make real. I had plans and ways to accomplish them all laid out, but then the life-changing experience happened. It was so unexpected.

What should have been a peaceful graduation party of the students of Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, Edo State, turned bloody, last night, as about 10 people were feared killed by cultists.

Trouble allegedly started when two guys got into a serious fight at the venue, Judges quarters in Ekpoma. However, as people were trying to separate them, the other guy said they tore his cloth and they must pay.

He later left with his friends, only to return with guns, in search of the person that fought him. Upon sighting his opponent, they opened fire on him and those who separated the fight. .

According to reports, about 10 people were killed, among who was one Dr. Einstein, a final year medical student set to graduate next week.

Music video director Unlimited LA has given props to his colleague Clarence Peters, describing him as the “hardest working music video director in Africa”.

Unlimited LA real name Buari Olalekan Oluwasegun, said this in an interview with Hip TV, acknowledging that Peters is ahead of him and he has nothing but respect for him.

“When I was the errand boy or production assistant, Clarence was already a DOP. Even before I learned what record is on a camera,” he said.

“I respect him so much because he is older than I am and he has got more work experience.

“If I am stuck with a particular project, I always call him anytime, ask him questions. I don’t see us competing.

“He is a bigger man. He is the hardest working music video director in Africa. I have been to a few countries in Africa and Mr Clarence Peters is the hardest worker I know. I respect him so much.”

Unlimited LA also touched on his working relationship with rapper Olamide Adedeji, with whom he has shot several videos.

“We have no contract binding us together. We just enjoy each other’s vibe,” he said.

According to MTN, 5G networks , now in the final testing stage, will rely on denser arrays of small antennas and the cloud to offer data speeds up to 50 or 100 times faster than current 4G networks and serve as critical infrastructure for a range of industries.

“This is the technology that would be used for very specific cases. It would not be a technology for everybody because most people don’t need it, your phone works fine on just 3G,” Rob Shuter told Reuters at a telecoms conference in Durban.

“You also need the equipment itself. So right now there’s no 5G handsets and even the routers that can receive 5G network are very few and very expensive.”

Many of MTN’s users in emerging markets across Africa and the Middle East are still awaiting 4G and are likely to have to get by with 3G connections for years more.

“What we are doing now is to learn from the technology and get our network ready for it but I think 3G is much more relevant in most of our markets,” hence Africa is not ready for 5G technology yet.
