Science/TechnologyFacebook Lost One Million Active Users – Are They Going The Pathway Of 2go? by dammy13(op): 2:10pm On Jul 26, 2018
I overhead some fellow discussing that Facebook is now for students and secondary school leavers… According to them, real men use twitter and Instagram.

Well, I don’t want to believe that someday, Facebook might follow the path of 2go.

The European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation had a tangible impact on Facebook’s user base. While discussing its second quarter earnings, the social network revealed that it lost about

1 million monthly active users in Europe due to the implementation of GDPR .

That’s a huge drop for a company like FB with active user of 2.22 billion total users. And now, the company is rolling out a new feature dubbed ‘Watch Party’ to lure back all the young people who switched over to Instagram .

Watch Party feature lets people in FB groups watch live or recorded videos together while posting comments in real time. Anyone in a group can start a Watch Party and select co-hosts, who control the playlist and playback.

Personally, I’m not a fan of Facebook, can’t even remember the last time I logged in. As a matter of fact, I’ve uninstall the app from my Android device.

How often do you use FB?

CrimeSick Girl Assaulted By Couple In Kaduna For Defecating On Bed by dammy13(op): 7:24am On Jul 25, 2018
Kaduna Police command operatives have arrested a woman, identified simply as Rahmatu and her husband, for allegedly brutalising and almost blinding a five-year-old girl.

The couple was arrested yesterday after news of the assault on the five-year-old, who is staying with them at Angwan Dosa, a suburb of Kaduna metropolis in Kaduna North Local Government Area filtered out. It was learnt that the girl had defecated on her bed following complains of running stomach.

The development had angered Rahmatu who descended on the girl, which led to physical injuries, mainly on her face.

However, luck ran out on the suspect, when a neighbour, who got wind of the incident, alerted members of a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), Umukhail Foundation, who rushed to the house to rescue the girl and drew the attention of the state Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development (MWASD).

Confirming the incident, the Commissioner, MWASD, Hajiya Hafsat Baba, said the girl had been treated at Barau Dikko Specialist Hospital, Kaduna and now in safe custody pending the time her father would come from Maiduguri, Borno State where the little girl hails from.

She said:

“When we got the report from an NGO this morning (yesterday), fortunately there are some security personnel on ground, who went to the house and arrested the lady and her husband.

“Her husband was arrested because he watched his wife did that to the girl. If found guilty, he would become an accomplice, punishable under the new Child Welfare and Protection Law of Kaduna State.

“Immediately they brought the girl, I took her to Barau Dikko Specialist Hospital here in Kaduna for medical examination and treatment because she may be having internal injuries. “She has been treated and examined and she is now in safe custody pending the time her father will come from Maiduguri.

“Presently, the woman, who did that to her, is in police custody at Kawo together with her husband. We hope the girl will get justice because the woman will be charged to court after investigation. “This will serve as deterrent to others and remind the people that, the child protection law in Kaduna State is in force and implementation has commenced.”

PoliticsOsun 2018: Ssg’s Exit Won’t Affect My Victory - Oyetola by dammy13(op): 10:40am On Jul 24, 2018
The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, Gboyega Oyetola, has said his victory in the September 22 election won’t be affected by the exit of Moshood Adeoti.

Mr Adeoti, the former Secretary to the Government of Osun State (SSG), was one of the aspirants for the governorship ticket of the APC. He withdrew from the race on the day of the primary, saying the process was manipulated.

In a letter to his party in Osun, he (Adeoti) expressed dissatisfaction with the purported ‘imposition’ of the Chief of Staff to the governor, Mr Oyetola, as the party’s gubernatorial candidate.

He left the party for Action Democratic Party (ADP), on the grounds that his senatorial district, Osun West, was marginalised by the election of Mr Oyetola, who is from Osun Central zone. Mr Adeoti also resigned as SSG.

Mr Oyetola, however expressed his confidence of victory on Monday at the party’s secretariat in Abuja while addressing journalists after what he called a “Thank you visit” to the leadership of the party.

“Well, SSG is my brother actually, I would have loved he remains in the party. But as a matter of choice, he decides to leave the party. There is nothing anybody can do about that.

“But as for the fact that, it might affect my fortune, I don’t think so. One, if you look at the result of that election, I had 127,000 votes. These are purely members of our party. We are going to have opportunities of other voters.

“With the kind of programme I want to run and the fact that people seem to have that level of trust in me, I believe I will have more votes not only from the APC, which is our base, even from the generality of the people.

“So, I wish him (Adeoti) well. He is somebody I have some regards for too. Sometimes politics is like that. You part and meet again. I wish him well,” he said.

He also commended the process of direct primaries, urging the party leadership to adopt it for other primary elections to be conducted soon.

“I don’t see the pain in the process to be honest. You are talking of comparing two things, direct and indirect. I don’t see the pain. Indirect (primaries) gives a lot of pains because in choosing few members of the party, you are going to pay through your nose.

“It’s like a brassier, 300, 400, 500, 600… so it creates an impression of the popularity that may not be there. If you have the money, you can buy your way. That’s what it means. But this (direct primaries) allows for participation of all members of the party.

“There is nothing that is more representative than that. I am proud to be product of direct primary. That shows that I am very popular. There is no pain about that. Sometimes you need to ensure that security is good enough for miscreants that might want to hijack the process.

“Other than that, there is no pain. It is less cumbersome, it less expensive and it is very transparent and it doesn’t allow for moneybags taking over. Someone that has the money can come one day and buy their way through and before you know he becomes flagbearer. It is what I recommend to all parties.”

He lamented that some workers are still being owed in the state.

“First of all, most states have been challenged by the paucity of fund over the years but there is this misconception on the issue of salaries in Osun State.

“We paid salary from level 1 to 7, we are not owing anybody. We paid 75 per cent for people in levels 8 to 10, the only category of people we are owing is actually from level 12 to 17, likewise pension.”

Helen Paul Tatafo Shares Testimony At RCCG King’s Court Parish Lekki, Narrates How Peak Milk Jingle Turns Her Life Around

Nollywood actress and comedian Helen Paul aka Tatafo recently testified of how God brought her into the limelight through a jingle she did for Peak Milk.

Here is what the entertainer said in a recent testimony session at the Redeemed Christian Church of God, The King’s Court Parish in Lekki.

Her words:

‘Some people came to LTV studio to record a jingle for peak milk and needed a girl to say ‘Milk at Its Peak’ because of the tiny voice the girl will have but unfortunately, the girl that was supposed to do it wasn’t released on time so Sola Kosoko came to me, knowing I can manipulate my voice to that of a small girl’s own, and asked me to give it a trial.

I asked them to give me a sample of the voice they needed and when I heard it, I told them it was simple, I went into the studio and did it, they signed me in immediately and from a receptionist earning N10,000 Monthly, I began to collect N400,000 Monthly’.
This is indeed a big turn around.

PoliticsOsun Election: I Will Win Without Stress - Omisore by dammy13(op): 7:09pm On Jul 23, 2018
A candidate of the Social Democratic Party, SDP, in Osun state for the coming Gubernatorial election scheduled to hold September 22, this year, Senator Iyiola Omisore has expressed optimism that he will emerge victorious in the governorship election in the state.

He declared that he was the man to beat in the election, saying that as the most experienced candidate, he has all it takes to come out victorious in the exercise.

Omisore boasted that none of the aspirants jostling for the governor’s seat can compete with him in terms of governance and administrative skills and that he doesn’t have an opponent as regards the Governorship election.

The former Deputy Governor of Osun said this in a statement issued by his Director of Media and Publicity, Omisore Campaign Organization, Prince Samson Falope, in Osogbo Monday.

He said: I’m very sure that I am going to emerge victorious in the coming gubernatorial election, as no any of the other party’s candidate is viable enough to compete with me”, Omisore boldly said.

“With the readiness and support of Osun-State people towards restoration of human dignity and good governance which the state has suffered in recent past, I will definitely take over the governance as the Executive Governor of the state, come November 27, 2018.”

Analysing the quality of each of the aspirants on the platform of other political parties, Omisore claimed that “APC candidate, Mr Gboyega Oyetola and that of the PDP, Sen Demola Adeleke are not near threat as people of Osun are fully aware of atrocities committed by Oyetola who has been the Chief of Staff to Aregbesola and the brain behind Aregbesola’s series of blunders.”

“The almost Eight (cool years of the APC have plunged the state and its people into abject poverty and penury is visible to the blind and audible to the deaf, hence, it is crystal clear that the good people of Osun state are tired of such governance or culprit and cannot afford to go into another Four (4) years of slavery.”

“The APC primary election was a charade which was skewed and designed to favour the candidate, hoodlums were used to harass and coerce members to vote Oyetola and those that resisted were beaten by thugs. This is to show that the Lagos neo-colonialist are hell-bent on perpetuating their oppressive regime in Osun State at all cost but by the help of God and the sagacious decision of the people of Osun, it will not materialize. ”

“As for the emergence of Senator Ademola Adeleke, Omisore said “Demola Adeleke doesn’t have intellectual and professional capabilities to handle the affairs of financially challenged state like ours and moreover, his emergence as the People Democratic Party candidate is on illegality with series of litigations here and there, which its foundation is faulty and can not stand the test of time.“

Romance“Any Love That Doesn’t Involve Giving, Is Fake” – Pastor David Ibiyeomie by dammy13(op): 6:16pm On Jul 23, 2018
The General overseer and founder of Salvation Ministries Church, Pastor David Ibiyeomie has stated that love without giving is fake.

According to the pastor, the first way to prove that you love someone is by giving – he revealed this 2 weeks ago during his church sermon.

“Any love that does not involve giving is fake. If anybody ever told you ‘I love you’ and cannot give you something, cancel that love, it is not genuine love. The first way to prove love is giving.

Using popular Bible verse, John 3:16, as a reference, he said that God so loved the world that he GAVE his only begotten son – with emphasis on the ‘gave’ – so imitating God, one is expected to give if one truly loves.

PoliticsINEC Colluded With Security Operatives To Rig Ekiti Election – Lere Olayinka by dammy13(op): 7:50am On Jul 23, 2018
The Director of Media and Publicity of Kolapo Olusola Campaign Organisation, Lere Olayinka, tells KAMARUDEEN OGUNDELE that the July 14 election was manipulated

What is your assessment of the election?

What happened in Ekiti State on Saturday cannot be called an election. It can best be described as a war against the people of Ekiti State, a war against democracy in Nigeria. No reasonable person can regard what happened in Ekiti State as an election.

Why did you say that?

An election is a process where people are allowed to make their choice willingly without inducement, intimidation, harassment or interference. In this case, the PDP agents were chased away from polling units. When you begin to drive agents of a political party out of polling units, can you call that an election? I know of cases that as early as 9am, people that could have voted for candidates of other political parties were run out of town. Three days to the election, there was an assault and shooting aimed at Governor Ayodele Fayose. This was followed by the withdrawal of the governor’s security aides even when he was not a candidate in the election.

Can you expatiate on your observations?

There was a clear demonstration of a pre-determined agenda to seize Ekiti State by force. The entire security apparatus was moved into the state, comprising 30,000 policemen and 19,000 men of Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps among others. Has election become a war? There was a siege on Ekiti. There was wanton arrest of PDP leaders. There are several innocent Ekiti people still in detention, including nursing mothers. Three days to the election, all that was required to arrest you was for somebody to identify you as a member of the PDP. Some of our agents that should have signed INEC forms are still being held by the police up till now.

Are you saying the voting was manipulated?

The process was structured in a way that voting should not have taken place in the first place. It was structured in a way that only APC supporters should vote. That is why people identified as members of the opposition were sent away from polling units. They went as far as arresting PDP supporters. Thugs were operating and moving round under the cover of policemen. In other climes, when thugs want to operate, they are wary of security agencies. But here, they worked together scattering where they suspected that APC was losing, destroying votes in the full glare of security men. A South-West governor had once boasted and assured them not to worry because the APC would snatch Ekiti. It means that the votes were not meant to count from the outset and on Saturday the votes did not count. The will of the people did not prevail. That is why even those who secured the victory could not celebrate.

Ekiti is the only PDP state in the South-West with a PDP governor. Don’t you see this as a setback that worked against the success of the party at the poll?

It is not a setback for PDP but a setback for democracy. It means that the APC government is out to kill democracy. If the 2015 general elections were conducted this way, would President Buhari have won? He wouldn’t have been president. The PDP government created a space for democracy to flourish. That was why an opposition figure like President Buhari could win an election. I have to say this, 2019 is a foregone conclusion. If anybody is thinking that anybody other than those they design to win the election would win, that person is deceiving himself.

What is the solution to a free, fair, credible and peaceful election?

The solution is to remove President Buhari. No solution will come until we have a president that believes in the rule of law. Until we have a party that will operate and let others operate. As it is today, we have a ruling party that believes it should control everything; that should run Nigeria like a captured territory. We have been returned to dark ages where brute force and manipulation of elections were the order of the day. They are now working to pre-determine results. Whether Nigerians can release themselves from the hold of these people, only God can say.

Let’s cast our mind to recent past where elections were won by the opposition party. PDP won a senatorial election in Osun while APGA won in Anambra. Why do you think that of the Ekiti is different? Is it because the ruling party won?

Well, interest will always be different. APC losing in Anambra would have no effect. But APC losing Ekiti would give them a bloodied nose. That was why they laid siege to the state. That was why they withdrew the security aides of the governor and triple the security aides around the APC candidate, Dr. Kayode Fayemi. Why did the federal authorities assign riot policemen to APC leaders such that they were moving freely and arresting people on the day of election? That was not the way it was done in Anambra and Osun states. That is why I said interests are different.

Besides, they saw Governor Ayodele Fayose as the only critic of President Buhari and must be taken out at all cost. That was why immediately after the declaration of results, there was a tweet from the EFCC saying it was waiting for the governor now that his immunity had been removed. An anti-corruption agency that should be neutral descending into a political arena! You should know they have other plans. We heard they want to try impeachment, but at the end of the day, we hope by the time these people finish with Nigeria, democracy would still be in the country.

Do you think INEC is culpable in all these?

It was a combination of INEC and security agencies. It is INEC that will direct security agencies and state the number required. Did INEC do that? Did INEC complain when people were being harassed and ballot boxes were being snatched? Did they complain when thugs were moving round with security agencies? INEC didn’t complain. They simply played the ostrich. We only hope they will not collapse the democracy.

PoliticsOsun 2018: Aregbesola’s SSG Dumps APC by dammy13(op): 7:12am On Jul 23, 2018
The Secretary to the Osun State Government, Moshood Adeoti, has resigned his membership of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Mr Adeoti had earlier on Friday withdrawn from the APC gubernatorial primary in the state alleging it was rigged fo favour the eventual winner, Gboyega Oyetola.

In a phone conversation with PREMIUM TIMES, Mr. Adeoti confirmed he wrote the letter but declined further comment.

PoliticsDino Melaye's Guards Shot Police Sergeant. Police Summon Senator (Photo) by dammy13(op): 7:38am On Jul 20, 2018
The Kogi State Police Command has summoned Senator Dino Melaye to report at the State Criminal and Investigation Department after his armed guards fired on a team of policemen on patrol duties in the state.

A police sergeant was the victim of the shooting, the police said and is recuperating in the hospital.

The Kogi Police Command asked Melaye to report at the SCIID office in the state capital, in the company of his armed guards, as investigation began on the shooting.

According to the police, their statement, signed by DSP William Ovye Aya, the PRO, was partly to refute Melaye’s allegation that he was shot at by the police.

On the contrary, the police said that Melaye’s guards opened fire first, with the police responding.

In posts on Instagram, Melaye did not mention any shooting incident. However, he claimed the police tried to block his convoy with a grader, parked on a bridge, while he was on his way to Yagba east to commission some projects. According to him, his convoy avoided the blockade.

In another Instagram post, the senator representing Kogi West said the state government barricaded the road to stop his movement.

It was on Twitter that the senator claimed an attempt was made on his life during the visit to his state.

He claimed over 20 bullets were fired at his jeep by a combination of policemen, men of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) and the military.

”I thank God for spearing(sic) my life once again. Over 20 bullets holes on my jeep. Combination of police,SARS and military. God I thank you.

The police statement reproduced below contradicted his account:

“Today, at about 1530hours, a team of policemen from the Command was on a routine Anti – Robbery/Kidnapping patrol along Aiyetoro Gbede – Mopa Road.

“During the patrol, and as it is often the practice, the team pinned down at a point at Iyah Gbede Junction, where they were observing the highway and occasionally conducting Stop and Search.

https://kikiotolu.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/IMG_6527-e1532042476831.jpg
Melaye claims this grader was used to block a bridge to prevent his passage

“It was in this process a long convoy of vehicles coming from Mopa towards Aiyetoro Gbede approached the Point. Officers of the Command at the Point flagged down the convoy. While the lead vehicle, a Toyota Hilux van, which was later discovered to be conveying officers of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, stopped to introduce themselves, other vehicles in the convoy dangerously zoomed off without regards to the safety of the officers on ground.

“Surprisingly, some plain clothed armed men, occupying a white Toyota Hilux van, without registration number, without provocation fired gunshots at the officers of the Anti-Robbery /Kidnapping Patrol Team.

“One of the officers, a Sergeant, was hit by bullet on the right part of his chest as a result of which he sustained grievous injury.

“The Officer is currently lying critically ill in the hospital where he has undergone a live threatening surgery and currently recuperating.

“Expectedly, the policemen in self defence responded by firing back to repel the unexpected attack. Vehicles in the convoy nevertheless, drove away from the scene. It was not until the officers of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps were questioned that it was realised that the convoy was that of Senator Dino Melaye.

“It is rather unfortunate that the Senator could after this dastardly act by his aides, be going around with armed men, unknown to the Command who could launch such a lethal attack on police officers in the course of their normal duty.

“It is more saddening that the Senator could turn around to issue misleading statements to cover up the heinous crime committed by his hired aides.

“While, the command has instituted a high powered investigation panel into the incident, Senator Melaye is hereby advised to report with people in his convoy to the office of the Deputy Commissioner of Police, State Criminal Intelligence and Investigation Department, Lokoja to assist in the investigation.”

PoliticsBorno Dwarf Security Guard Who Is Paid N5000 Per Suicide Bomb Attack Arrested by dammy13(op): 8:08pm On Jul 19, 2018
25-year-old Abubakar Kori, a dwarf, who facilitated the suicide bombing activities of ‘Boko-Haram’ insurgents, said he was paid not less than N5, 000 for each suicide bomb attack carried out by the insurgents in Maiduguri.

Kori is among the 22 people arrested by the police in Borno and Yobe for their alleged involvement in suicide bombing activities carried out by the insurgents.

He told our reporter that he received N5, 000 as payment for facilitating the execution of each suicide bomb attack in Maiduguri and its environs.

Kori, who was a security guard at a fuel dispensing station in Dalori area of Maiduguri, said that he participated in several suicide bomb attacks in recent months in the metropolis.

“My role is to keep the Improvised Explosive Device (IEDs) for onward delivery to another person who will carry out the attack.

“On different occasions, two of my acquaintances gave a parcel to keep for somebody, who will come and take it.

“I normally kept the parcel in my duty post; the appointed person would come and picked it; after successful delivery, they paid me N5, 000.

“We reside in the same neighborhood in Maiduguri; they always told me that the parcel was given to them by one Ba’Adam, and asked me to keep it.

“They introduced me to Ba’Adam, who is the mastermind of the attacks,” he revealed.

On his part, Adam Mustapha, a.k.a Ba’Adam, admitted that he coordinated various suicide bomb attacks, which resulted in the death of hundreds of people in Maiduguri.

Ba’Adam, 20, narrated that he had coordinated several bomb attacks at Bulukuntu, Baga road, 333 Artillery gate, Customs, Post Office and Muna Garage areas of Maiduguri.

“On two occasions, I was paid N200, 000 for the successful execution of bomb attacks.

“Most of the time I had to pester them before payment could be made to me,” he said.

When asked whether he had cause at any time to regret his actions, Ba’Adam said that he was never remorseful at any given time.

Another suspect, Ibrahim Mala, 48, also admitted to aiding suicide bomb attacks in Maiduguri, sales of rustled animals and supply of logistics to the insurgents in the bush.

Mala, a butcher and resident of Dalori-Kakere village in the outskirts of Maiduguri, revealed that the insurgents were supplying sheep and provided him with N180, 000 loans, to enable him to run his business.

“They paid me N5, 000 for safe keeping of IEDs, and they also sent me on errands to buy consumable items for them.

“I bought the items at the market and kept it at my home; some persons would come at night, pick and deliver same to members of the group hiding in the forest.

“Some of the items included torch lights, matches, sandals, kola nuts, cubes and clothing materials.

“I saved money in dealing with the group and bought a plot of land worth over N420, 000.

“I know that they are Boko-Haram insurgents and my wife was not happy with my dealings with them; she asked me to stop but it is too late,” he narrated.

PoliticsEkiti Has Been Liberated From Pdp’s Bondage – Aregbesola by dammy13(op): 10:29am On Jul 19, 2018
Osun State governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola yesterday said with the victory recorded by Dr Kayode Fayemi, governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress ( APC ) in the Saturday’s election, the people of Ekiti State have been liberated from the bondage they have been placed by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) led government in the state.

In a statement made available to the media in Osogbo by his Media Adviser, Mr Sola Fasure, Governor Aregbesola also congratulated the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its candidate Dr. Kayode Fayemi describing the victory of the APC as a ‘hard fought and won battle that brought liberation to the people of Ekiti State’.

According to Governor Aregbesola, “The victory of our party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) came after a hard fought and won battle that brought liberation to the good people of Ekiti.

“It is also an indication of the rising popularity of the APC across Nigeria in a swift sweeping of the electoral stakes in the country that began in 2015 and continues till now.

“In spite of the challenges and the formidable opposition, the people of Ekiti stood behind the party and voted for our candidate on Saturday giving our party a fresh four year mandate to provide leadership and good governance.

“That victory signposts the wrap up of the South West by the APC, Ekiti State being the last bastion of the dying PDP dinosaur that has wreaked havoc in the region and Nigeria in general. It is a new dawn of progressivism in the South West and an opportunity to re-enact the golden era of Chief Obafemi Awolowo under whose progressive platform the region had unprecedented development, through regional integration and socio-economic cooperation.

“I therefore wholeheartedly congratulate Dr Fayemi, his running mate, the progressive family in Ekiti State and across Nigeria, the leadership and all members of our party that worked hard for this victory.

“On behalf of my family, the government and the good people of Osun, I wish him a fruitful and successful tenure in the service of the people of Ekiti."

PoliticsFayose Laments As Police Helicopter Conducts Aerial Surveillance In Ekiti by dammy13(op): 7:10am On Jul 19, 2018
Outgoing Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose, today raised an alarm over aerial surveillance of the Government House, Ado-Ekiti by a police helicopter.

Fayose said the police chopper has constituted danger to his personal safety, his family, workers and visitors to the Government House.

He expressed dismay that aerial surveillance of his official residence and office has continued unabated even after the July 14 governorship election in the state.

In a statement issued on by his Chief Press Secretary, Idowu Adelusi, the governor described the development as “brazen show of naked force and abuse of power by the Federal Government.”

He also accused the nation’s security forces of allowing themselves to be used to intimidate political opponents despite being funded with tax payers’ money.

According to him, security agencies must be apolitical and not turned themselves to willing tools in the hands of powers that be.

He, however, vowed not to be intimidated by the alleged clampdown, adding that he would continue to speak against injustice and advocate for liberty of Nigerians.

Fayose said:
“They continue to fly helicopters over the Government House and Governor’s Office in a way that compromises the safety and well-being of residents and workers.

“The helicopter flies so low that it runs the risk of crashing into high-rise buildings and masts within the premises.

“The noise pollution this causes is enough irritation. This brazen show of naked force and abuse of power is as ungodly as it is undemocratic.

“If the security forces belong to all Nigerians and not to President Muhammadu Buhari and APC, it should not be biased in this blatant manner

“It is unprofessional of the security forces to allow themselves be this debased, running APC errands when they are funded with resources that belong to all of us.

“They are obligated by the Constitution to be a political and not willing tools in the hands of the powers-that-be

“Once again, I say I will not be intimidated. I will stand on my feet until every injustice is upturned and the freedom and liberties of our people are restored.

“The thief runneth when no one pursueth. They are afraid of their shadows.”
http://kikiotolu.com/fayose-laments-as-police-helicopter-conducts-aerial-surveillance-of-ekiti-government-house/

CelebritiesCharity Nnaji Gets Car As Birthday Gift From UK Based Fan, Shares Testimony by dammy13(op): 6:23pm On Jul 16, 2018
Abuja-based Nollywood actress Charity Nnaji has joined the league of luxury car owners in Nollywood.

The actress celebrating her birthday today is still in shock as a UK based fan just bought her a brand new car.

Here is a testimony the actress shared with Potpourri over the weekend.

“I’m now small girl with big God. I guess I have joined the league of girls who call themselves ‘small girl with big God’. I got a car gift from a friend I barely knew. I recently updated my Instagram status with the caption ‘bored’ and a fan from UK called me and asked me why I was bored.

I told him my birthday is next week and I have nothing to show for it, even as an actress. I went further to tell him many Nollywood actresses celebrate theirs in a grand style and with many goodies to show for it. He then asked me what I wanted and I told him I needed a car. “To my utter surprise he told me to go to a car stand and make my choice.

At first I was scared, I thought it was a scam because I barely knew him. I asked myself why this sudden kindness. He told me he’s my secret admirer for a long time. To cut the story short, I went to a car stand and priced a car and called him. Right there and then he credited the car dealer.

What a mighty God we serve. I now join the group of girls with the caption ‘small girl with big God’.”

PoliticsEkiti Election Worst Political Robbery In Nigeria — Wike by dammy13(op): 6:58am On Jul 16, 2018
GOVERNOR Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, yesterday described the just concluded Ekiti State governorship election as the “worst political robbery” in Nigeria’s democratic history.

Wike, during a thanksgiving service in Port Harcourt to draw the curtains on the third year anniversary celebration of his administration, boasted that the All Progressives Congress, APC, would have no room to re-enact the perceived Ekiti political robbery in Rivers State.

He said: “Don’t be worried about what happened in Ekiti State. We are prepared. It will not happen here in Rivers State. I have never experienced that kind of robbery in politics.

“I told my colleagues, don’t give them any chance. Most of them in APC are hoping they will repeat the same in Rivers State. We are waiting. Let your spirit not be down, work hard and victory will be ours.”

On the value of the two months long 3rd anniversary celebration, Wike said: “We made sure people who have eyes see what we have done for the state, except those who are blind, for which there is nothing we can do about it.

“We will continue to do the best for the people of Rivers State. The people deserve the best. In the remaining one year, we will not stop doing projects, irrespective of the elections.”

Governor Wike urged the people to continue to support his administration.

Archbishop, Province of Niger Delta, Most Rev. Ignatius Kattey, who presided at the thanksgiving, lauded Wike for his outstanding developmental strides, saying the governor has graduated from “Mr Projects to Doctor Projects.”

Co-Adjutor Bishop of Anglican Diocese of Niger Delta North, Rt Rev Wisdom Ihunwo, prayed for God’s continued blessing on Wike’s administration, noting that the government’s source of strength is from above.

A former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode has reacted to the conduct of Ekiti governorship election, which has the All Progressives Congress, APC, candidate Kayode Fayemi leading.

He described the Ekiti election as a “sham”.

They also shut down the local television stations to prevent the truth from being exposed.

“I say weep not for @GovAyoFayose or the PDP but rather weep for the people of Ekiti, for Yorubaland, for the south and for Nigeria.

“There is no democracy in this country, robbery took place yesterday.”

PoliticsEkiti Election: INEC Chief, Zakari Demands Apology From Fayose by dammy13(op): 7:54am On Jul 15, 2018
A National Commissioner of the Independent National Electoral Commission in charge of Election Operations and Logistics, Mrs Aminat Zakari has given the Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose 48 hours to apologise publicly to her for accusing her of working with the All Progressives Congress candidate, Dr Kayode Fayemi to rig the governorship election on Saturday.

Fayose had on July 2, 2018 accused the police and the Department of State Services of reposting Fayemi’s security aides to the state to coordinate the rigging of the election.

The governor also alleged that Zakari and three other INEC officials — Mr Kenneth Ukeagu ( Director of Procurement Department); Messrs Paschal Uwaenwe and Abdulrazaq Yusuf ( both deputy directors in Information and Communications Technology Department); and Mr Abdulrasak Agboola ( Deputy Director, ICT) — were working with Fayemi to carry out the alleged rigging.

But responding to the allegations in a suit filed by her lawyers Ubong Akpan Chambers, Zakari said the governor’s “scurrilous falsehood” had negatively impacted on her health, career and family life.”

In the suit titled, ‘Scurrilous statements against the integrity, person and public service of Mrs Amina Bala Zakari,’ and addressed to the governor, the INEC commissioner’s lawyers stated, “You (Fayose) are a Christian and a family man first before being a politician or governor of Ekiti State.

“You cannot possibly think it excusable on any grounds, other than deliberate viciousness that a governor of a state can legitimately descend to labelling a mother, wife and sister of his fellow beings a criminal of such astounding magnitude.

“What makes it worse than defamation is the incredible injurious falsehood you inflicted on our client in her work and public service.”

The suit added, “Mrs Zakari has been inundated with calls from family, friends and colleagues worldwide.

Zakari demanded that a written apology by the governor be published in all national newspapers within 48 hours.

The suit further demanded from the governor, “public retraction of all the allegations contained in all the said publications in the same manner and format in which the allegations were made.
