​THE story appears unbelievable, but on inquiry, police officers at the “C” Division, Police Station, Asaba, Delta State, Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Delta State Command, DSP Andrew Aniamaka and Commissioner of Police, Mr. Muhammad Mustafa, confirmed that it actually happened.

A supposed human rights activist wearing lawyer’s robe stormed the “C” Division ostensibly to ask for the release of two suspected cultists held by the police over a case of murder.

He met the Divisional Police Officer, CSP Aniete Uyo, and while introducing himself, the DPO had some reservations and asked some pertinent questions on his identity, which infuriated him.

What happened next, for supposedly having the audacity to cross-examine him, the activist dealt the DPO a blow, tore his uniform and went on a vandalization spree of his office.

The Divisional Crime Officer, DCO and other policemen, who were taken aback by the action of the activist, were still trying to fathom how a civilian would assault their boss when hooligans invaded the station.

In the ensuing melee, the DCO himself was wounded on the head and subsequently rushed to the hospital, where doctors had to stitch his head.

The activist tried to escape, but bewildered policemen chased and managed to seize him and three others, while others escaped.

As mind-boggling as the story is, Commissioner of Police, Mustafa, said: “The supposed activist and three other persons, who carried out the attack on the policemen have been arrested. We are going to arraign them in court for the incident; you cannot invade a police station and fight our officers in that way.”

Sources hinted that some persons had intervened, pleading with the Commissioner to drop the matter.

​Founded in June 2011, after 7 years, Google is shutting down Google+ , internet base network owned and operated by Google after a glitch that compromised over 500,000 accounts and personal information.

The security bug allowed third-party developers to access Google+ user profile data since 2015 until Google discovered and patched it in March, but decided not to inform the world. When a user gave permission to an app to access their public profile data, the bug also let those developers pull their and their friends’ non-public profile fields.

Indeed, 496,951 users’ full names, email addresses, birth dates, gender, profile photos, places lived, occupation and relationship status were potentially exposed, though Google says it has no evidence the data was misused by the 438 apps that could have had access.

Now Google+, which was already a ghost town largely abandoned or never inhabited by users, has become a massive liability for the company.

On October 8, 2018, Google announced that it was shutting down Google+ for consumers, citing low user engagement and a software error. Embarrassingly, The consumer version of Google+ currently has low usage and engagement: 90 percent of Google+ user sessions are less than five seconds.”

This indicated that Google+ would be fully shut down by August 2019, to allow users to download and migrate their information.

Features include; the ability to post photos and status updates to the stream or interest-based communities, group different types of relationships (rather than simply “friends”) into Circles, a multi-person instant messaging, text and video chat called Hangouts, events, location tagging, and the ability to edit and upload photos to private cloud-based albums.

​DMW singer Mayorkun has mentioned that meeting Davido was a blessing to him and he does not think it will be quite easy for him to forget the day he met the African pop sensation.

Mayorkun, who met Davido after he uploaded a video of himself playing the piano to one of the latter’s songs on social media, told Sunday Scoop that it had been nothing but bliss since he came in contact with the self-acclaimed Omo Baba Olowo.

He said:

“I will continue to remember the day I met Davido for good. He has really been a blessing to me and I will always appreciate him. He is a very good person because he didn’t know me from Adam before offering me a deal with his label. Even when I tell people how our paths crossed, they don’t believe. He took me as a brother from day one and he has been very instrumental to the growth of my career.”

On the advice his mother gave him at the outset of his career, Mayorkun said:

“She just told me to always remember the son of who I am and to stay true to myself. She warned me not to live a fake life but to be focused on my career. As someone who has been in the entertainment industry for a while, her advice is very valuable to me and I make sure to follow it. I am very close to my mother and I don’t do anything without her.”

Speaking on what inspires him as an artiste, Mayorkun said:

“I am largely inspired by the things I see around me. I like to sing about things that people can relate with; I get material from the things that happen around me.”
