Folarin Falana who is better known by his stage name Falz gives a little sneak peek of what his upcoming album will look like. Speaking to Channels TV the two-time AMVCA winner said he is still making conscious and controversial music despite being hit by criticism. Falz suffered heavy backlash by some religious groups and subsequently a ban of his song ‘This Is Nigeria’ by NBC but insists he will not back off telling stories with his music. “Right now I’m making a lot of controversial music. “It’s always going to be like that, people are always going to get angry when you make that sort of music but those stories need to be told,” he said. The Bahd Guyz Records boss revealed his next album will be packed with conscious music. “People need to hear our voices; our voices need to be projected in the positive direction as artists. “It is something I will continue to do, I’m working on a fully conscious album which is dropping very soon,” he said. http://kikiotolu.com/my-next-album-will-be-very-controversial-falz-reveals/ Lalasticlala Mynd44 Dominique Fynestboi MissyB3

Ekiti Governor-elect, Dr Kayode Fayemi, on Wednesday called on Gov. Ayodele Fayose to refrain from actions capable of plunging the state into further financial crisis through illegal appropriation of public funds. The governor-elect, in a statement issued by the Media Director of his campaign organisation, Wole Olujujobi, warned that the consequences of illegal appropriation of public funds would be very grave for individuals who participated in any illegal act to defraud the state. He warned that participants in such illegal acts would be called upon to account for their actions when the new government takes effect on Oct. 16. Fayemi further queried the rationale for the N10 billion supplementary budget barely a month to the handover date. The statement read: “The media report alleging that Fayose coerced the Ministry of Budget officials to make a demand backdated to Aug. 23, 2018 for a supplementary budget of N10billion a few days to the end of his administration is fraudulent and not in the interest of the state. “The governor’s covering note also backdated to Aug. 30, 2018, for the legitimacy of such request was equally done with a fraudulent intention. ”It is worrisome that the alleged supplementary budget was presented to the Assembly Clerk for immediate approval without presenting it to Assembly members at the plenary to go through all parliamentary procedures in budget processing. “The latest development today, after the plot leaked on this fraudulent conduct, is that the budget is now before the House for a hush-hush debate for immediate approval. “We have warned government officials and Ekiti people in general against participating in illegal acts by the governor and this fraudulent supplementary budget is not an exception “The incoming administration has a responsibility and commitment to the protection of Ekiti people from abuse by political leadership. “This is our pact with Ekiti people and we will never shirk from this responsibility to ensure accountability and good governance for our people.” http://kikiotolu.com/stop-fraudulent-use-of-ekiti-funds-fayemi-warns-fayose/

Nigerian comedian, Basketmouth in a new interview has revealed that he’s a very shy person and that he does comedy just to make people laugh. The award-winning comedian also talked on life as a comedian and his expectations from his fans, comedy industry, Nigeria and from himself. See Excerpts from the interview below: First of all, I know you are a very busy man and I consider it quite a privilege that you granted us this interview. As a young man, Basket did you aspire to be a comedian or is it something that you stumbled along the way? I’ve always wanted to be a comedian since I coincidentally bumped into… I think it was Eddie Murphy’s delirious performance, this was in… I think 1994, yeah 94. I saw the tape… the VHS tape so I was like thrilling some of my friends, just making fun, cracking jokes and my elder brother’s friend was watching me and called me and was like dude have you seen Eddie Murphy’s performance? Then, I did not know Eddie Murphy was a standup comedian I thought he was just an actor cause the only thing I had seen then was coming to America. I knew this is what I wanted to do and everything then just started… you know, The path just opened, and I just started the journey. That’s wonderful, that means you were doing comedy when you were in Uniben yes? Way before I started… before I even got to Uniben How was it like performing then at a time when comedy wasn’t really as big as it now in Nigeria? it was… the same thing, comedy gives you that same feeling of satisfaction the fact that you create an idea or a story in your head and you bring it to life and you tell people… You know whether it’s from your experience or stories you’ve heard, and you make it a joke and you tell them and they actually you know laugh. It’s that satisfaction that you’ve delivered the goods but the only difference between then and now is the fact that then it was a little bit tougher because it was a new act and people were just beginning to accept so… unlike now that’s it is now like a life style everyone wants to be funny everyone is now making skits. The difference was, it wasn’t really embraced by that many people support wasn’t that much so the hustle was different, yeah the hustle was different but it’s still the same satisfactory feeling you get whenever you drop that joke or get that laughter. http://kikiotolu.com/im-a-very-shy-person-i-only-do-comedy-to-make-people-laugh-basketmouth/

An undergraduate of the Lagos State Polytechnic, 27-year-old Abraham Enebeli is now clinging to life after a soldier stabbed him on the neck. According to Punch Metro , the victim was allegedly stabbed in the Ijegun area of Lagos on Saturday by a soldier attached to the Ojo Military Cantonment. It was gathered that the military official, identified as Daniel Martins, allegedly broke a bottle and stabbed Abraham in the neck during an argument between the two.
Abraham’s brother, Paul Enebeli, who spoke to PUNCH Metro, said Martins was hired by one Chukwudi. Paul said, “Trouble started early August when Abraham owed Chukwudi about N150,000. “ Abraham said some people defrauded him; but Chukwudi brought six uniformed army officers to our house. “My brother was beaten up, my mum was injured and they attempted to take one of my brothers away. Some guys intercepted them. They threatened to keep coming back until my brother paid the money. “There was an agreement among Abraham, my elder brother, the soldiers and Chukwudi that since they injured a lot of people in the process of getting the money back, the money would not be paid back in full. They agreed that my brother would pay N85,000. “However, one of the soldiers kept harassing my brother. Yesterday (Saturday), the soldier was on a motorcycle with another friend, who knew my brother. “My brother and that friend greeted each other. The soldier called my brother, but he refused to answer. That got him infuriated. He got off his motorcycle and pushed my brother. “There was a heated argument between them and the next thing he did was to pick a bottle. He broke it and stabbed my brother in the neck. Immediately, he sped off on the motorcycle.”
When PUNCH Metro contacted Chukwudi, he denied sending the soldier to Abraham, adding that the said money belonged to the military official. He said;
“I was not around when the incident happened. The money is not mine; it belongs to the soldier. “I was at home some months ago when the soldier called me that he had some Amazon cards to sell and I told him that I had someone that traded in such things. “He gave me the cards and I gave them to Abraham’s elder brother, Solomon, to sell. The cards are worth N175,000. “When Solomon was to pay for the cards, I gave him the account number that he would transfer the money to, but he kept procastinating. “It got to a point that he stopped taking my calls. He later told me that he would transfer the money to Abraham, who would later transfer it to me. “After 30 minutes, Abraham called me that he was held by some SARS operatives when he was going to an ATM to withdraw and that they had collected the money from him. “I was surprised when he said he was going to the ATM to withdraw because what I told them was to transfer the money to my account. There was no agreement between us that they should pay N85,000. “The soldier was on mufti yesterday (Saturday) and I was told that Abraham talked to him anyhow. He hit the soldier on the chest, which got him pissed off. “The soldier collected a bottle from someone and Abraham dared him to stab him. I think the soldier felt embarrassed and that was why he stabbed him.”
The Army Public Relations Officer, 81 Division, Lt. Col. Olaolu Daudu, promised to investigate the incident. http://kikiotolu.com/soldier-stabs-laspotech-student-over-n175000-amazon-gift-cards-debt/ Lalasticlala Mynd44 Dominique Fynestboi MissyB3
