Car Talk / Re: Maintenance Tips For Honda Cars by dandollar1: 10:26am On Oct 08, 2015
I am having an OBD code on my 2007 Honda accord, P0172. It has to do with- Fuel System Too Rich Bank 1.

The code came up a day after I had a mechanic clean my fuel filter because the engine was going off while on motion.

Could it be that the fuel filter was not properly fixed that is why I'm having this code?

There is no black smoke emanating from the exhaust, no smell of gasoline inside the car or in the engine oil, no drop increased fuel consumption...(symptoms of this problem).

I have not noticed any driving issues, but I want to fix it before it develops to something else.

So far, I have cleaned the MAF sensor. I also added injector cleaner to my fuel tank ( these were suggested as part of the could be solutions) .

I reset the engine light but it came on after two days.

I was also having a TPS sensor code(p2138) that was assumed fixed about the same time, so when I saw the engine light again, I thought the TPS Problem was back until I checked and saw it was a different code.

*** Could it be that the fuel filter was not properly fixed that is why I'm having this code?

Please, how do I rectify this problem?
I HATE SEEING THAT LIGHT ON!

I want to belive your diagnosis is poor, and the socket is unnecessary. I'm sure there's a scanner where you are.
yes, I have a scanner. The code I got was P2138. I have two throttle body, complete with the TPS which I bought sometime last year when I had this issue. The problem resurfaced a short while after I changed the TPS. I had to revert to the one I replaced. That's what I have been using till now, and that's why I'm thinking it's the socket that might be the culprit.

Please, does the 2007 Honda accord have accelerator pedal position sensor, APS on the accelerator pedal, or APS=TPS?

Just the socket? Cause you can only get a stripped version from an engine.

08023251039.
the socket and the wires attached to it. I have a new TPS, I am thinking the issue might be from the wires/socket. I stay in Bonny island, so I have almost no access to good mechanics/car electrician. I want to see if I can direct a mechanic/car electrician to change these parts for me. Can I get from you?

While bad fuel may not be ruled out, but the fault you highlighted is consistent with TPS.

Introduce your engine type properly.

What type of throttle body does your vehicle have??

If it is the first pic, disconnect the socket and check for corrosion and re-install you might be lucky.

thanks. My engine is a four cylinder engine. I removed the socket and sprayed with electrical contact cleaner two days ago. Nothing changed

Good day, good people. I refuelled my car, a 2007 Honda accord last week. The malfunction indicator came on about two days later, and a scan brought a code, P2138, showing there was a problem with the TPS. The car stalls and also jerks when shifting from gear 1 to 2 while in motion, and when the gear stick is shifted to R or from R while stationary.

Now, two of my office vehicles, both of them, Toyota had issues after buying fuel from the same source earlier that week, so that the fuel pump of one of them had to be changed.

Each time I reset the engine with the scanner, the light comes up in 5mins or less.

Could it be possible that it is the bad fuel that could be affecting the engine while the system is throwing a code p2138 that has to do with the TPS?

Please, I await your responses and suggestions. Thank you.

I have a slight complain on the recent item lodged to my Warehouse, The chargable Dimension Weight was totally off.. I have sent an email to you guys to this effect, My UNIT NG49496. Kindly take out time from your busy schedule to ensure this is rectified ASAP, so i can make payment ASAP to meet Saturdays Shipment
after my first order , I observed that shipments that weighed say 2 pounds at point of purchase becomes 5 pounds when it gets to Shoptomydoor. The same exact item that weighed 2 pounds in my first purchase with Shoptomydoor , which tallied with the weight from the site I purchased it, became 4 pounds when it got to Shoptomydoor the second time. And it has always been like that. Wonder why Nigerians are not straight forward. I think they do this to get more money from customers, but it's really not nice.
Career / Re: Now That I Got A Job I Am Now Confused. by dandollar1: 2:54pm On Aug 18, 2015
guseman:
My view is for you to pick up the job that you have the highest passion for which I believe is teaching and you are afraid of the sales/technical support job because of the challenges of the new sales Job.

I was once upon a time in this situation. Got an IT offer with a small pay and an insurance marketing executive jobs. My Uncle asked me to take the IT offer that all what Insurance marketers does is walking around from one office to the other.

I finally pick the marketing job because of my background is in social sciences not Engineering and all the adverts of telecommunications companies I do see always ask for people with engineering background so picked sales job. I never received a dime for the four months I worked with the Insurance Company but I spent the 50k my Mum gave me for CCNA certification o transportation just trying to know Lagos that was in 2009. I got another job after four months. All the clients am getting I handed them to a friend because I told her this is not what I want in life begging people to secure their future so as for me to put food on the table for my family.

Today I am a professional Salesman and I am glad I made that decision. I have worked in many states of the federation and I have been a manager for about four years now.

My story has never remain the same. My sister is the Head of School for Eight years, when she was asked to go, I don't think they gave her anything. As I am typing this message, my Cousin who is also a Principal in a private school is editing his CV because after 7years He is asked to go without any meaningful compensation because they work in a private school.

As a salesman, meeting targets might be stressful but it will makes you go places and meet people. Apart from pupils parents and church members, your interaction with outside world is limited as a teacher but I will submit by saying the decision is yours because it is all about your passion not necessarily the money involved.

But honestly each time I go home and I see my teachers I cried inside of my heart and if you must know, my father was Head Master during his lifetime. It's all about what gives you joy. If you want to be rich in life, don't ever consider you will be rich by teaching. You can only live a comfortable life without taking risk and retire and live on your pension that is if you teach in a government school. If you think otherwise ask your lectures, some of their students earn four times their salary.

Many of my friends that are teachers today don't like taking risk and they are always comfortable with their little salary but at times they complain. But if you want to be rich in life and make it to the top, think the other way.
Lolzzzzz @ the bolded. Go and ask teachers teaching kindergartens in NLNG schools how far. Please, don't always generalise.

And then some people will still claim sorcery isn't real. Even as a person who lives and breathes science, you just have to come to terms that the dark arts are very much alive and a potent threat to civilization. I hate those spell casting sorcerers and witches that truncate human free will with their evil charms angry. And to think sorcery is spreading like wild fire in the West, particularly Europe is a whole lot to be worried about. History will repeat itself and the dark ages, much more evil than the world has ever seen, will be reborn in no time, if things continue like this. Science must defeat sorcery once again, if this world is to survive.
it must surely happen, bro. It was predicted a long time ago.

First of all, I will like to correct this impression that, if you work in a bank, you are a banker.you are not a banker! or should we say a cleaner in a bank is a banker or dispatch rider is a banker as well?, you are just an ordinary employee like a sales girl or marketer in any other industry. the only difference between you and that person working in another industry is you are always well dressed to look attractive to customers.

Back to the matter, there is no technicality in banking work! yes i mean it, a smart secondary school graduate will perform excellently in virtually every department except sensitive departments in a bank, and this is the reason why banks recruit all Toms, Dicks and Harry at graduate level because they assumed an average graduate will at least be better and trainable

My friend there is no career path in banking sector per say, especially now that IT (information technology) is gradually taking the space of professionals and reducing office space for caring out daily banking operations.what this portends is the so called chartered bankers and allied professionals will be phased out in the nearest future as all banks in Nigeria and beyond are seriously looking for ways to reduce overhead cost.

if you are still in banking job, dont be too happy, start planning for career switch, by applying for professional courses that can land you job in another sector.

that is my two kobo!!
true talk. I have been wanting to leave banking but can't seem to find where else to use the experience.
What professional courses would you recommend for a successful switch?

Abeg, which other industry can one fit in after working in banking operations for 10 years? I can't seem to find its relevance in other non-banking industry. I so much dislike this job, more so, the thought of ending up in marketing is scary. I need to move to some other industry. Someone please help. It's an emergency.

The op is not lying. I transferred 10k to someone, sometime within the past 1 month. He kept disturbing me that I should make the transfer, that he had checked his account via atm and his balance was 50.I had to check my account and his too, to confirm the transfer went through.
I called him back, and he told me he had withdrawn, and that the atm showed him his balance as 50 dollars. Was thinking it was a one off occurrence though.

On the 24 of May I went to a local chemist to buy Lumertem an ani malaria drug to use. I had been feeling feverish since arriving from Abuja on a night journey the previous day.

When I got home, I settled down to take the four prescribed tablets as the first dosage. After plucking out the tablets from the sachet, I decided to check the verification pin on the container. So I scratched the card and sent the pin to the short code provided, only to receive a message saying "the code was a valid code but was used on 2015-3-26 at 21:42:31 by 2348****32184".

So Nairalanders, beware and inform your Family members to always confirm the code before taking those drugs. Its free to confirm. No charges.

See the pictures below.

Will get back with a clearer picture of the code on the box.
Nna, na one person go swallow all these? I developed stomach discomfort immediately I saw this pic. I hate tablets, prefer injections.
