live scan please, I want to see the throttle angle when car revs itself, I also want to see pedal angle too.
How do I go about the live scan please? How do I get these throttle angle and pedal angle?

Do you know anybody in Port Harcourt that you think could help me fix this issue?

Hello,
I have been having this issue with my 2007 Honda Accord I4 for a very long time now, and it is getting worse.

1. The car auto revs on its own in park and neutral . Once you start it, goes Voom! Voom! Voom! With the tach going up and down continously.

2. It jerks with a thud, when changing from park to reverse or from neutral to drive.

3. On motion, the vehicle drives itself as there is no throttle response and does not exceed 40km/hr. There is also a slight thud when it shifts from gear 1-2 and when downshifting too. I can only control it with the brake at this point. The engine sound is also very high.

Initially, this issues happen intermittently , in that, the car would drive well for like a month, and then the issue will come up suddenly, say for 2 days and everything becomes normal afterwards, but it has been very consistent recently and the car is beginning to stall on motion.

Overtime, I have scanned the car and got codes related to throttle body, throttle position sensor, and online checks suggest the culprit could also be a vacuum leak.

I have replaced about 3-4 throttle bodies, the latest being a brand new one I ordered online.I have also replaced my intake tube,ECU, replaced sensor plugs,e.t.c, still the issue has persisted.

Presently, I have codes P2135 and P2176.

I have been going about this diagnosis myself because I stay in bonny island,Rivers State, and here, there are no competent mechanics or auto electricians that can tell me what the problem is.

I would appreciate if anyone with such experience could point out what I could do to resolve the issue or refer me to a very competent auto mech or electrician in port Harcourt that could help me resolve this issue.

Thank you.

Your vehicle should be using a drive by cable and as such, you may have to replace the actuator mechanism alongside your damaged engine seats.
please what do you mean by the actuator mechanism? If it's that mechanism that has a sensor and wire that goes to the pedal, I have changed that too. Are you referring to the accelerator pedal position sensor?

There are various factors to consider.

I bought a Naija used 4Runner a while back. I bought it knowing it's Naija used and it was used by an inhuman human being grin

Similar, example in the US will be $5,000 = N1,750,000 plus clearing of about N500,000 making N2,250,000 ish, I got it at less than half that amount so I think it's a great deal. I used this as an example as to how I personally valued my purchase.

Good luck.
thanks bro. It's good to know we still have some sane people here.

Why do most Nigerians have that irritatingly vacuous mindset that whenever the price of a car doesn't run into millions, then the car is virtually dead? Please if you dont have an intelligent response to give, the wise and honourable thing to do is to just keep shut please!

And op, next time post such comments with pictures of the car. However, dont let some repulsive and odious comment here discourage you!
My brother, I Taya o. I didn't even know what to comment again.
This particular car is even a steal at that amount. It's like 95 percent new. It was bought brand new as a birthday present for a child of one of this money miss road oil workers some years ago. The child, being old enough now, said he didn't like it because it has a manual transmission.

The car has been parked all this while, and only driven from time to time. In bonny island, you may not even drive more than 8000km per year, except you are a transporter.

I drove it on Friday, everything was fluid, was just thinking I could bid it down further,or what others might be willing to pay for it if they were in my shoes, and some people just came in here commenting like what I can't describe.

People say Nairaland is becoming the wrongest place to seek advice. I'm beginning to think so too.

Hello,
There is a 2007 peugot 206,manual transmission I am considering buying. It's a Nigerian used, bought brand new rarely used with about 9700km.(less than 10,000km).
The interior looks so new, that you won't believe it.

The owner is asking for 850k last.

Do you think it is a good buy?

By my reckoning this information is wrong. From a lay man's point of view, secondary market is not quoted like the primary market and almost always doesn't include 364days.

2. Until the next executive council meeting of the CBN to restructure our economic policies, rates cannot go below 14%. Get ur facts right b4 misleading people.

I stand to be corrected by @FEELAMONG @vitality@awesomej
Sorry, I didn't generate that message by myself. The likelihood that it is true is very high.

Some people here act like they make the policies or determine how the market goes. Anything can happen at any time. This is Nigeria tongue .

Again,FYI, no treasury bills sales from the primary market this year again, till Jan 3rd 2018. Let's see if this one is false too.

Dear All,

Please be informed that the Debt Management (DMO) has stated that the N198.032B Nigerian Treasury Bills which will mature in December 2017 will not be rolled over.

Kindly type in  link below unto your browser to see full information.
https://www.thisdaylive.com/index.php/2017/12/12/dmo-redeems-n198bn-treasury-bills-in-december/
This information has led to an aggressive demand in the Treasury bills Secondary market thereby crashing the rates further.

At this time, being 12 noon Treasury bills in the Secondary  market are trading as follows:

91days - 7.40%
182 days -  7.00%
364days - 7.00%

Thank you.

This was the news I got from my bank this afternoon.
Will the rates rise again?

RealityShot:

you can sleep after investing in money market fund.

why?

Because it is mostly invested in treasury bills which has 100% capital security.

thats why the banks can tell you that your capital in a MMF is 100% guaranteed.

the price of TBills does affect MMf rates, but because some part of the funds are used for other secured, higher yeilding investment windows not ordinarily availble to individuals, the rates can go higher than TBills rates some times.

another reason for higher rates is, remember that Tbills pay interest upfront?

yes, the mmf managers reinvest the interest to earn more and sometimes share those interests with us to make the fund more attractive.

the beauty of MMF is that you can start with N5000 and add more as you get more unlike treasury bills that you can only add a minimum of 100k at a time.

Ain't MMF a beauty?! cheesy
Thank you for this response. you are simply wonderful. Please, are you into stanbic MMF? If yes, what is their current rate?

Negotiating rates on mutual funds is not possible because of the way it's structured if you like bring 1billion, how ever the financial house could give you a good rate in terns of fixing the funds and invest it in whatever way they deem fit, but to get a good rate better than what mutual funds are offering is determined by volume of amount and the tenure/time

It's possible o. Na your money go determine. There is nothing impossible under the sun.
