PoliticsGov. Amosun Raises The Alarm Over 600,000 ‘strange’ Pvcs by dandydrey(op): 9:04am On Feb 19, 2015
The Governor of Ogun State, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, has
raised the alarm over about 600,000 Permanent Voter Cards,
brought to the state by the Independent National Electoral
Commission, which the governor says do not belong to people in the state.

He raised the alarm on Wednesday after he visited the state
Resident Electoral Commissioner, Chief Timothy Ibitoye, in His office at Magbon, Abeokuta.

The governor also lamented that only 40 per cent of the
registered voters in the state had collected their PVCs, stressful that this was far from being encouraging.
Amosun said, “As we speak today, the cards (PVCs) they
brought originally, we have two or three issues now.

“The first one is that the 1.1 million cards they brought in
November, on my honour, about 600,000 of those cards do no belong to Ogun State, and that is the problem.

“They don’t belong to Ogun State, you will see them quoting the polling units, the cards are not our own in Ogun State, which means, somebody somewhere doesn’t want us to vote in Ogun State.”

“In Ogun State, we’ve just managed to collect about 40 per
cent; it was about 36 per cent before and as of today, only
about 40 per cent has been distributed.

“I have been interfacing with INEC and I have had cause to
write a letter to the Chairman of INEC on December 19, 2014,
and I enumerated all that have been happening as Ogun State is concerned in the run off to this election.

“Unfortunately, I have been here since morning and they still
have no good story to tell us. Let me tell you, somebody
somewhere, I don’t know know, probably do not want us to
vote in Ogun State, they want to make sure that at least, 40 percent or more than that, do not vote.”

Amosun said during the 2011 elections, the state had about 1.8 million registered voters and they later removed 500,000,
alleging double registration through post AVIS.

He said, “When they did that, they took away about 500, 000
and reduced Ogun State to about 1.3 million and we said ‘no
problem, if you said there will be opportunities for people to re-register’, which they did.

“When they did that, from their record, it was almost 450, 000
of the new registration and if you add that to the 1.3 million, it
takes us back to about 1.8m, 1.9 million or thereabout of
registered voters.”

Still talking about the 600,000 strange PVCs, he said residents
had gone to polling units in their areas, the names on them
were not known to them.

He said, “Our people have been going there everyday, we have
demonstrated that, we have sent our people to all the polling
units. They don’t even know those names, they don’t know who they are.

“If they said they’ve removed almost half a million. In my ward, Ward 11, in Abeokuta North, people are going there everyday and people, who were born there, don’t find their names; they just saw fictitious names. Those cards are not Ogun State cards.

Having successfully destroying PDP. OBJ must be enjoying all the political affection and attention he is getting at the moment. I am just worried that OBJ and Tinubu who couldn't see eye to eye a few years ago are now best of pals singing the same song and somehow Atiku and OBJ, two sworn enemies are in the same camp endorsing a man they jointly defeated in the 2003 polls. I am confused about this kind of change where corrupt ex presidents and VP implicated in the Haliburton scam are also shouting corruption. The same Haliburton scandal that fetched a US congressman jail time. I can still stomach Buhari but the presence of these guys back in the presidency makes me jittery: Atiku, OBJ and Tinubu all in one group. Beware of this sophisticated pimps. I believe they joined the change train to protect their investments and interest. Nigerians shine your eyes, this isn't change, this is continuation. This is the reason we must be careful about politician, they become united when they smell power and money. Our participation is all they need not our contribution.
Buhari though disciplined to an extent cannot do it alone at that age. Nigeria is a lot more volatile and complex than what it used to be in the early 80s. These are the guys to advice him and place people into positions that matter. May we eventually get the change we actually wished for. Before you join them in heating up the polity ensure you get a guarantee from them that they, their children, wives, friends who have benefited from them would be the first line of defence while we follow from a distance. If they are so passionate about this democracy and want to show their full commitment then they must lead by example starting from the battle field. Since they love us so much then they must show it first by leading any protest that may occur as a result of any anomalies from the forthcoming election. Jonathan might join APC tomorrow and he would be welcomed with pomp and pageantry. Do not lose sleep or your life over them, they are only doing their jobs. Remember 3 million people died in the Civil war, there are no monuments to even recognise or appreciate the blood they sacrificed for Nigeria which unfortunately is still a country not a nation. The seams joining us are bursting at the hems due to the magnanimity and genourosity of our politician preaching division and hate. Please protect your life. Do not promote or encourage violence, Nigerians will suffer most.

Politics{domestic Violence} Gov. Fashola's Uncle Allegedly Batters 2nd Wife? [PIC] by dandydrey(op): 3:51pm On Feb 11, 2015
If this damning message currently going viral on the social
media is anything to believe, then a man who is said to be an
uncle of the Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Raji Fashola,
Alhaji Kayode Fashola, has been dubbed a wife beater » .

Aside that, he is also labelled as irresponsible, chronic
womaniser, unrepentant drunk and a chain smoker.
A certain woman, Rachel Adenuga, who claims to be a close
friend of Alhaji Fashola's second wife, posted a heart-rending
message of Facebook where she claimed the man almost
beat his wife to death » on suspicion of infidelity.
She went as far putting the man's home address and photo
as well as that of the supposedly battered wife.
Here is what Adenuga posted:

"The man in this picture is Alhaji Kayode B Fashola popularly
known as Uncle K. He is an Uncle to the present Governor of
Lagos State Tunde Fashola.
His number is 08033282610 and he lives at 21, Akinhanmi
Street Surulere.
I have decided to post this on facebook so that people know
the kind of person he is and for the public to be careful.
The woman in picture is his legally married second wife. Her
offence is that he found a complimentary card on her table.
And without asking questions, he locked the door and almost
beat her to death.
Again I must warn the public that this man is not only a wife
beater, he is a smoker, a drunk, extremely jealous and a
chronic womaniser.
He boasted that he is above the law in Lagos by virtue of his
position but we all know that no one is above God."

Pulse Nigeria put a call to the number Adenuga provided to
get the reaction of Alhaji Fashola on the domestic violence
allegation but the phone was switched off.

A message was also sent to the number but there was no
response. All efforts to get his own side to the allegation were
not successful as at the time of this publication.
