Hey, not just 'a muslim' but 'alot of muslims' still reject the new #100 cos of the absence of arabic inscription. Similar incidents as that of the OP have even been cited by some nairalanders on this thread also. So its not just a one person ish.

I had same experience a few weeks back. A little Muslim boy of less than 15 years told me to give him the old 100 Naira note if I have that the new one is not good. I also met an Imam who openly condemned the legal tender. So it's a general notion among Muslims that any Nigerian currency note without Arabic writing is 'illegal'/ 'fake'.

I witnessed something strange in my school last week.

I was at an eatery when an argument ensued between the attendant and a "Muslim student", funny enough the attendant is also a muslim.
The guy was given the new N100 note as his balance but he refused to collect it and was rather requesting for the old one, the woman was surprised and asked him why he wouldn't collect it and his reply was "there is no arabic on it"

This got me thinking that i had to ask some of my muslim friends of which they condemned the act.

To the muslims here, what's your take on this?
