ghazzal: This is about language and not islam. translation from one language to another can never be perfect. It is enough reason to doubt the english bible too. Try using Google translate and see the options it will give you during translation of some words.
Some words in a language can have over 3 meanings in another language. When you now traslate sequentially to 4 different languagees, immagine if the content will not almost be lost. The Quran is simply preserved in it original language and that in itself is a miracle whether you like it or not. among the oldest maniscript that still retains its original language. the Hebrew and greek Bible is still there...u must not get it word4word,just understand what God is saying...! I know u are not fluent in Arabic.i hope u are not trying to tell me u are using the photocopy of what u say was revealed to muhammed, stop saying u have the original copy of the quran. |

rusher14: This is not a competition between religions, so I can only plead with you to ignore any inflammatory text. What we have here are actions that are quite divisive, tearing apart the very fabric upon which Christianity was founded: brotherly love, trust, fellowship and belief in one God who sent His son Jesus Christ to this world to die for our sins. Once we lose this we have lost everything and believe me we are tending towards a precipice. We can pretend all we want but the facts are our actions speak louder than any words we preach. am not defending pastors, but its owning private jet a sin becos they are men of God? Remember during the time of Jesus on earth people still remain poor due to their mindset and decision.take it or leave it jet or no jet many people will be poor.poverty shouldnt stop the growth of other people.the greatest message anyone can get is the message of christ. |

chukwudi44: Typical mindset of the average pentecostal minister.its all about money!! Money!! and nothing else.
The Roman catholic church to date is still more than 10,000 times richer than these 'mushroom' churches yet the ministers would rather devote their monies to charities and living humble lives as oppossed to these charlatans.
They keep mentioning about their churches in disapora, how many members do RCCG,LFC or even Oritsejafor churches have in dispora? I keep hearing about presence in 160 countries but do they have any dignificant presence in these countries?
St Paul the greatest missionary in history did not use private jets to succced neither did st Francis Xavier,st patrick,David Livingstone and other great missionary workers.
These men have converted far more souls in remote locations than these private jet pastors. How many countries have Oyedepo,Adeboye and Oritsejafor introduced christianity to? How many souls have they won outside nigeria with their private jets you can't stay on naijapals and see their efforts. |

Logical: According to you right? An assumption without evidence of the Palestinian people saying thats all they want. You have the right to assume whatever you want to assume, but until you have substantial evidence to back those assumptions, its just a myth. Everybody can say this, can say that, to support their reasons for supporting be it the Palestinians or the Israelites.
Call them freedom fighters or call them terrorists. Call them whatever you choose to. You may stand on the side of Shimon Peres and George Bush and view them as the greatest obstacle to peace in Palestine, or you may choose to look through the eyes of the Palestinians who saw in him the hope of liberation and deliverance from Israeli occupation.
You may choose to remember Ariel Sharon's days as a terrorist, recalling events such as the 1972 Munich Olympic games in which Israeli athletes were murdered or the fact that he was partly responsible for the Israeli invasion and occupation of South Lebanon. You may also choose to recall the fact that the Nobel committee saw in him qualities deserving of a Peace Laureate.
I personally do think both societies deserve to live in peace and harmony, but you may think otherwise and may have your personal vendettas against either side, but all in all whether their reason is because of a vintage temple or territorial. There is one fact that would always be present, the Palestinians are left to suffer and live under sub-human conditions. Each day, Jews are relocated into newly built settlements (or colonies as I prefer to call them) in the West Bank.
The State of Israel is just as guilty. It may not employ suicide bombers (it doesn't need to—its American supplied tanks and F-16s are lethal enough) but it deliberately disenfranchises the Palestinian people, while refusing to abide by international law, which calls for it to return to its pre-defined borders. As long as there is occupation, there would be the rise of several forms of militant, social and ideological movements in Palestine, which would continue to resist such occupation.
I just hope that one day, supporters of either side would be humane to see beyond CNN or BBC or even Al Jazeera. and press tv |

nuru: If your friends indulge in extra-marital sex, it is a great sin because God said in the quran ' Do not move near adultery/fornication'. One of the obligatory acts for any muslim that engages in sex, whether with a lawful partner or not is to observe a ritual bath after the act, otherwise such a person will not be entitled to observe salats i.e. canonical worships peculiar to Islam. He/she is also not entitled to enter any mosque nor touch the Holy Quran among others.
The bath is not called Alwaala, it is called Ghuslu Jannobat'(The bath after Intercourse ).
The bath is not for the forgiveness of sins. For that, the sinner must sicerely ask God for forgivess and pardon with a lot of remorse, and with a resolve not to go back to the sin. Surely God is the Forgiver and Pardoner.
There are several ways of asking forgiveness, one could recite certain formulars, observe voluntary fasting, perform pilgrimage, endow the needy, clean the mosque or do some other works in propagating the Truth and preventing others from falling into same error. abuse of Grace and mercy. GOD just need ur sincere heart seeking forgiveness. atoning for sin is like trying to pay God. |

@Chukwudi44: « #8 on: Yesterday at 02:36:42 PM » If I show you from the remnant of truth still in the Bible that Islam was the religion of all prophets, including mine truly Jesus bin Mary, what will you do to satisfy by quench, as in your becoming a Muslim? Give me your commitment, man and stand by it.
What was the religion of the companion of Jesus when Jesus was leading them? Were they Christian or not before the same people were called Christians by the people of Antioch, who according to you knew who Jesus was, otherwise it would have been fool hearty to believe that they came up with the name, because the people were Christ like.
If their religion of the disciples was not Christianity during the time of Jesus, did they change religion now that Jesus was no more their leader, and what was the religion before them or they have no religion and you follow them according to you, will be assumed to have no religion then, even though you copied Judaism, clearly a religion, to come up with Christianity?
Were the disciples Christians or not, and did they change religion before they died? When you analyse this above you will know that if Christ like was existing during the time of Jesus, then Islam like was existing long time before Muhammad (AS), even before Ibrahim. There is a reason that the people of Noah were perished in the flood, and it is not because they were not Jews or Christians, but because they disobey Allah by not follwoing prophet Noah (AS). They made jest of his telling them of their future peril in the flood when he was building the boat.
In Surah Kahf, Allah says in verse 106 that the disbelievers will be punished in Hell for making Jest of His signs (Instructions and the Prophet who conveyed the Message). before Jesus we were living under the Law of moses. Jesus brought Love and Love is Above the Law cause when you have Love you will not break any of the commandments. Christlike is Love!!! |

misfortune is continuous as just 1 unbroken even from start to finish.

Remember Quran's claim to be a clear book (5:15) easy to understand (44:58, 54:22, 54:32, 54:40) explained in detail (6:114), conveyed clearly , (5:16, 10:15). See no need to drag the bible into this, unless the above verses are false and Quran isn't any of them without the bible or even hadith. i will respect islam and the quran the day it becomes capable of defending itself without the Bible. |

kismat: Islam doesnt allow a believing woman to marry a non-believing man but a believing man can marry a christian or a jew (people of the book). I don't know how religious the girl is and i think you'll find yourself in a difficult situation of converting but not knowing why. Is it because of the girl or you trully respect her religion and willing to share he beliefs and totally understand the oneness of God?
As for the friendship and seeking a long term buddy before settling down.you know whenever a female and male seat together, the third person is always the devil/satan. So you'll end up doing two things, either tempted to do something, or pick up on something small which might lead you to call off the whole thing. Marriage is about a contract bidding two people to help each other out and go through the pains/pleasure of life together. if you are sure you want to get married and know that whoever you're interested in has the qualities you're looking for, i would suggest you put your trust in God and go ahead. But as i said, if you're non-believing man interested in a muslim girl, you have a huge task ahead of you. muslim can marry an unbeliever so that islam can spread well... |

Islam › Re: Questions For Muslims: For Those Who Want To Know by DanielNoble(m): 12:53pm On Dec 09, 2012 |
ghazzal: @tbaba answered correctly. in another words, anyone can read and understand the Quran but if you read the english version(which i read), you should understand that there is not direct/perfect translation from Arabic which is a richer language to english....e.g i saw a tread someone wrote "allah"(small a) i thought initially it should be "big A" but again, i thought that it does not change the meaning...in arabic, "allah is different from illah" but in english, allah must be big "G". this is a simple difference.
so while someone read the Quran, and a verse is not clear, ask people who know better or get books that explain it in details(with the history of why the verse came about). an example is when a friend Qouted Q2:191 for me, initially, i said it is not in the Quran cos i know it is against Islamic teachings to kill unjustly. When i went and read it, i got confused as to why, so i asked someone who knows better. he refered to the history and i understand it was about self defence. they were trying to oppress but opression can only be stopped if it is opposed (i read it too).
but unfortunately, people are just too lazy to read and to even ask has become a problem.... is oppression a good Justification for killing |

tbaba1234: Thanks for your question:
A lot of terrible things have been done in the name of all religions, this is not peculiar to islam, People used christianity to justify the spanish inquisitions, the crusades, blowing abortion clinics, the slave trade. e.t.c. But this is clearly against the values of christianity.
The vast majority of muslims do not support the murder of innocent people. The Quran states " , killing an innocent person is like killing the whole of humanity and saving a life is like saving the whole of humanity".
Islamic scholars generally have rounded condemned acts of terror by muslims. Islam respects the values of all other beliefs. The Quran states:
"Let there be no compulsion in religion: Truth stands out clear from Error:whoever rejects evil and believes in Allah hath grasped the most trustworthy hand-hold, that never breaks. And Allah heareth and knoweth all things." (Q 2: 256)
thank you but the whole muslim world is in support of Hamas and Osama!! |
