The Joke that will become tears of Sorrow I come from a country where the people are the problem and the solution but chose to remain the problem because they have taught their minds to see only the present moment while the remain blind to the future. They never consider the future neither do they plan for it, if the very moment they exist in comforts them (no matter how little) they will sink into it and ‘mind their business’, if they get angry they will come together and take action without a single thought of if it is the right thing to do or the right time to do it or if the disadvantages will outweigh the advantages… this is the country where I come from and they call this place Nigeria. The elders have immersed themselves in religions beliefs and fanaticism or political thievery while the youths go about chasing sex, drugs, money, gambling, scamming and comedy, and even worse they find everything funny and a potential comedy video. I heard somebody say that whoever God wishes to punish he sends such person to Nigeria, I am being tempted to believe that it is true. I spent hours thinking to myself, what is good about my Nigeria? There is hardly a good news on the internet about Nigeria; if the news is not terrorism then it bandits and kidnapping or its government chasing Ipob with soldiers while ignoring bandits or its Nigeria topping the chart of the worse economy or its Nigeria topping the world chart of internet fraud or its Nigeria trafficking drugs or its Nigerian youths slaughtering themselves in cult war or its Nigerian youths catching their girlfriend in room 206 with another man or its the Nigerian government promising to do things that they will never do till they die miserably or its Nigerian men using fellow Nigerians for money ritual or Nigerian pastors creating controversies or living lavish lifestyle or sleeping with married women. Who will save Nigeria? Don’t say God because God will never come down here to do that, the universe is still expanding, God has that and more to worry about not Nigeria. The change Nigeria is looking for does not exist in any government because every corrupt maggot government that climbs the seat of power has always been coming out from amongst us which is the reason why even if we have the youths rule this country the situation will never get better because most of us are no different from the government you criticize. Change starts with you, it begins in your heart it begins in your ability to share party Jollof rice and meat equally with hiding some to take to your house when some people at the party couldn’t get food to eat, it begins in your ability to stop being a hypocrite, it begins in your ability to do the right thing even when you are paid to do otherwise, it begins in your ability to love your neighbor as you love yourself, it begins in your ability to help people while they are alive and not wait for them to die and spend lavish… change begins with you, if you don’t change your mentality and wicked heart then forget about it, Nigeria will forever remain a wasted nation.
