After all my ordeal at home for the past
weeks, I resumed school which was my worse
nightmare, I remember always asking my dad
everyday if that day was school and most
times he told me yes, only on few occasions
did I get a negative answer and cherished it
like ice cream.

I went to school on Monday, and most of the
people I saw were empathizing with me, some
said rumor had it that the glass half pierced
my head , some where looking if I had a
bandage on my head. Some said I died and
others said I won't be able to walk again if I
survived, Thomas, my friend was gisting me , i
started casting and binding come see back to
sender prayer, before we heard the sound of
the bell for assembly. I rushed to my class to
drop my school bag and hurried to the
assembly ground .


As I reached the assembly ground I saw
everyone standing still and I tried to rush to
my line, I observed that a lot of eyes were on
me, then I saw a teacher wearing khaki whom
I had never seen before standing on the
podium.

I heard him shout ' who is that rascal and
ragamuffin who doesn't know how to respect
the National anthem? Come up here .'
Everyone was looking towards me and I was
looking round for who the man was talking
about. Then he pointed towards my direction
and that was when I realized I was the one
the man was referring to, I was the one in
deep soup after the one week of pain and
torture.


When I got to the front of the assembly I
looked back like Lot's wife, I just agreed that
teachers tried to be able to stand before all
this students with all eyes on them, I
immediately changed my ambition of wanting
to be a teacher which I wanted to be so that I
could flog people.

I was brought back to reality of the occasion
at hand when the teacher sent for a desk so I
would lay on to receive the flogging, that was
the fate I dreaded most in that school.
I didn't have the chance to stuff books in my
knicker to lessen the pain, and even if I could I
won't , after seeing what befell the last boy
that inserted a textbook during a flogging and
when the teacher flogging discovered he was
wiped beyond the 6 strokes he was supposed
to receive .


The stage was set for my execution, yet it was
an execution to me because the series of
beatings I had received within 2 months was
enough to make a cow become obedient and
disciplined.
The teacher told me to lay down and he
inspected to make sure I wasn't putting on
jean or any object to ease the pain. What
could I possibly put when I hated wearing eve
pant during that time, meaning I was only
putting on the school uniform without any
other clothing under. I looked round and saw
the pity look on the faces of the other pupils.
They were looking at me as though i was
about to be beheaded, the face I saw that
encouraged me not to cry no matter the
beating was the sorry look on my crush's face
( yea, I had a crush on a female classmate
whose name was Shade), she was having a
tear running down her cheeks , I felt loved at
that time .


The next sound I heard was the sound of a
whip, I didn't feel any pain so I looked round
to see who had been flogged.
