“Everything was just well synchronize. Me getting my foot stuck on the rug, Clement getting a bucket of paint dropped on his head, Felix being hit by a plank making him tumble down the stairs. This were all well planned by someone or someone’s targeting 3 of us,” Edwin said, still trying to force his foot out of the rug as he laid on the floor.
“Okay, now tell me, who in this house is capable of doing something like that?” Mrs. Macaulay asked, folding her arms.
Daniel, Edwin and Felix looks down the corridor towards Jenny and Jessy’s room.
“Jenny and Jessy? Why do you think two little girls can do something like this?” Mrs. Macaulay asked, still folding her arms.
“Those girls hate us. I’m sure they are ones who did this,” Felix said, for the first time since the incident.
“Oh really? And now, let me prove you all wrong,” Mrs. Macaulay said walking towards Jenny and Jessy’s room. After knocking twice, Jenny opened the door.
“Mum? What are you doing in my room?” Jenny asked rubbing her eyes indicating she just woke up.
“Oh, did I wake you up, honey?” Mrs. Macaulay asked.
“Yes Mom, you kinda did,” Jenny replied, yawning.
“Oh sorry honey. You can go back to bed,” Mrs. Macaulay said, as Jenny shut the door before her.
“You three were saying?” Mrs. Macaulay asked, walking back to where stood.
“But… But… But.” Felix stammered.
“Will you all just go to bed and make there isn’t any more noise from any of you, unless,” Mrs. Macaulay said, as she retreated back downstairs.
“Those little demons, they are so gonna pay for this,” Felix said, clenching his fist.
“Hey! Those little demons are my little sisters, if you’ve forgotten,” Daniel said, rolling his eyes.
“Don’t worry Felix, since they want a showdown, we’re gonna give them a showdown,” Edwin said, finally getting his foot off the rug.
“Once again, my little sisters.” Daniel shrugged.
“Don’t worry Danny boy, we’re not gonna hurt them. Atleast not too much,” Edwin grinned.
* In the morning *
“Huh? Where are they?” Jenny asked, to no one in particular as she and Jessy peeked into Daniel’s room to discover neither Daniel nor his friends were in.
“Where could they have gone this early?” Jessy asked, to no one in particular as they both walked into the room.
“They are probably scared we’re gonna prank them once more. Ha! They can’t run forever…” Jenny said, but was cut short by the incoming Edwin.
“That’s why we are right here,” Edwin said, walking into room with Daniel, Clement and Felix following.
“Jenny, Jessy, so you girls were responsible for what happened yesterday?” Daniel asked.
“And others in the past,” Felix added.
“Yes, and so?” Jessy replied, shrugging.
“And so? Did you just say and so? Look at my hair, it’s gonna take me forever to get this ‘blue paint’ off my hair.” Clement ranted.
“And me, ‘The Felixinator’, tumbling down the stairs because of you girls. I feel like killing you two,” Felix said walking towards them but Jenny gave him a death glare and he retreated.
“But why are you girls doing that? Pranking them? Why?” Daniel asked, looking perplexed.
“It’s all their fault. They are always around you. They never give you free time to play with us. That’s why we have been trying over the years to split you all,” Jenny said, glaring daggers at the guys.
“Oh, it’s not their fault. You see, when I was in High school, I was required to always be in school, read and attend extra classes because I wanted to get good grades and most times, due to one competition or the another I would be representing Crownsville. So, it didn’t give me time for both myself and anyone else even friends. So, don’t blame them, instead, blame me,” Daniel said.
“Oh, we didn’t know, we’re very sorry,” Jenny said in a sober tone.
“Yeah, we’re very sorry, you guys,” Jessy added.
“It’s okay,” they all chorused, smiling but Clement and Felix merely murmured.
“And guess what we got you both? All of Justin Bieber’s album!” Edwin said, bringing out a shopping bag he hid behind him.
“Argh! Oh Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!” They both screamed rushing towards Edwin, grabbed the bag and rushed out of the room towards theirs.
“Once again, Edwin, saves the day. That rhymed, huh?” Edwin smirked.
“Just shut up. I just used the money I was gonna use to buy shampoo, to buy some Justin Bieber nonsense for some little girls,” Clement ranted.
“You’re looking at it from the bad side. On the good side, you just bailed yourself from a lot of pranking from those little girls.” Edwin smirked.
“So, Edwin, what’s with the Christmas party? Seems you and your parents are now in good terms?” Daniel asked, taking a sit.
“Yep, we are now in good terms. And like you heard me tell your Mom, we’re hosting a Christmas party and we are inviting every family and friends. Guess who I invited,” Edwin smiled.
“Who?” Daniel asked.

PROLOGUE
(A 16 year old boy is being shown playing all around the house. His parents – Mr and Mrs Cole are watching a program on the television set in the living room).
Mrs Cole: Majh! (calling the boy) Come here, stop playing around.
Majh: I am still doing something here.
Mrs Cole: What is it you are doing?
Majh: (holding a remote, running around) I am still playing with the car.
Mr Cole: (annoyed) Playing with the toy car? When are you going to stop these your childish habits?
Majh: (stops immediately, looking frustrated) Until mum teaches me how to use a gun.
Mrs Cole: What sort of rubbish is that? Do you want to be a security agent like me?
Majh: I have told you many times without number that I don’t want to be a security agent.
Mrs Cole: Then, why do you want to be able to use a gun.
Majh: I want to be fearless like you, and I want to know if for self security purpose.
Mrs Cole: Hmmm, hmmm!! Why do you think I give you brain trainings every day?
Majh: You want me to be able to solve problems, to be wise in taking decisions and to be able to know and realize what others can’t realize easily.
Mrs Cole: You are partially right but the main reason I give you brain trainings is because I want you to be more fearless than me.
Majh: (smiles) With just brain, and no combat training?
Mrs Cole: Yeah! With just your brain, you can really do better than I do. The reason why people think I am good is not really because I am good in using gun, but because I use my brain perfectly. Being good in combat, ant not good in using brain, you will be defeated easily. Enemies out there that I defeat, there are so many of them that know how to use a gun more than I do but because I know how to use my brain better, I defeat them easily. All the opportunities that you have, when I was young, I didn’t have them. Then, there was nobody to teach me anything. I just… (she is being interrupted).
Majh: (interrupts her) Ish… (there is total silence).
Mrs Cole: (after some seconds) What’s the problem?
Majh: I felt a brief heat for just like two seconds.
Mrs Cole: What are you implying?
Majh: You taught me that presence of at least a person in a place, would bring at least, a little increase in the heat of that place.
Mrs Cole: (laughs) You this boy, I just taught you that area of training yesterday.
Majh: Yeah!
Mrs Cole: (still laughing) You are not yet that good in that area of sensitivity because you were just fumbling yesterday. So how come you are already applying it now?
Majh: (confused) I know I am not yet that good in that area, but just as you taught me, I know I felt a very brief heat.
Mr Cole: (interrupts) Mum and son, please you are disturbing me, I am not really enjoying the movie any longer.
Mrs Cole: Daddky, please give me some minutes, let me teach your son what he doesn’t know.
Mr Cole: (smiles) Okay, ma!
Mrs Cole: (to Majh) You know what? The security of this house is very tight. I built it myself. If any other person should enter this house, we would surely be alerted.
Mr Cole: Does he just know that today?
Majh: Of course, I already knew but I know I felt something. Well, maybe it’s just an illusion. It happens at times, am I not right?
Mrs Cole: Yeah, it happens.
Majh: Okay!
Mrs Cole: Don’t worry. I will finish that sensitivity test for you tomorrow. I will make sure you don’t make any mistake again.
Majh: Thanks!

Mrs. Williams: Welcome back honey.
Susan & Theresa: Welcome Dad.
Mr. Williams: Oh my daughter is here. How are you my and how’s school?
Susan: I’m fine Dad and school is fine also (smiling).
Mr. Williams: I hope you are concentrating on your studies?
Susan: Yes I am.
Mr. Williams: Good, that’s my girl (smiling).

Mrs. Williams: So honey, what did Mr. Stanley say? Did he lend you the money?
Mr. Williams: Well, after much pleading, he agreed to give me N5000 (five thousand Naira) with a promise to pay him back with an interest of N8000 (eight thousand Naira) before the end of the month.
Mrs. Williams: What!? N8000?
Susan: But Dad, where are you gonna get N8000 to pay him back?
Mr. Williams: That’s the least of my problem now. All I want now is for us to have food to eat and this money is enough to feed us for two weeks.
Susan: Okay. Dad, the money you gave me when I was going to college is still intact. Well, not all of it but a huge chunk of it is. I’ve been saving it for a rainy day but I can see we need it more than I do. So, why don’t you return the money and let’s use mine instead?
Mr. Williams: I appreciate your effort, Susan, but I think you should keep the money and save it well for that rainy day. Believe me, that rainy day will eventually come and you will need that money then.
Theresa: But Dad, Susan is right. I can’t stand seeing you in dept coupled with the fact that you have to pay back in interest.
Mrs. Williams: Honey, please listen to your daughters. You can’t be a debtor while there is money in our hands. Please return the money and let’s use Susan’s savings. I can’t begin to imagine what will happen if you are not able to refund the money with interest.
Mr. Williams: I have heard all what y’all have said and I appreciate y’all for your concern but I’m not touching Susan’s savings and I’m not returning this money. Susan needs that money more than we do now that she is in a high class school. You all shouldn’t worry, before the month’s end, I will refund the money.
Susan: Okay Dad, why don’t I go find a job? Atleast I know I’m capable of one.
Mr. Williams: No, that’s out of the question. I sent you to school to learn and become a great person in future not to be working.
Susan: But Dad, I can get a job and use the money I earn to foot the bills and also buy foodstuffs.
Mr. Williams: (Angry) Listen to me Susan, you are not going to work and leave your education just because of our financial status and that’s FINAL! When you guys are ready, go and buy the garri (drops some money on the table and walks out).
Theresa: Gosh, Dad is so stubborn.
Mrs. Williams: Don’t worry Susan, I’ll talk to him. You know how stubborn your father can be but in the mean time, why don’t you go rest, alright? (Walks out).
Susan: Alright Mum.
Theresa: So sis, what are we gonna do? We can’t just sit down and let Dad handle all the financial burdens of our family alone.
Susan: I know, that’s why I’m gonna look for a job right now. Tell Mom and Dad that I went for a walk (leaving the house).
Theresa: Alright I will. Goodluck!

“Gosh, where am I gonna start searching for a job?”
“But I just have to do something instead of sitting at home, watching how things might unfold, probably for the worst.”
“Right now, I think I can be able to do any kind of legal job as long as it will…” Susan thought out loud but was cut short when someone bumped into her making both of them fall to the ground.
“Hey! Can’t you watch where you are going?” The masculine voice barked at Susan.

Yes, Lucas thought, everyone makes mistakes sometimes, but He never underestimated Micheal, Micheal was wrong, His mistake was becoming complacent, becoming relaxed, thinking His father will never found Them.

"after you left Me" Micheal continued " I summoned every energy in me and I went to Malia, She was the one that removed the knife with magic and I explained everything to Her, She was very weak at that time, almost at the point of death, but she promised to help me, even if it prove to be the last thing she ever did. and she helped me" Micheal said, then He looked at Lucas face and then at the Sword, He smiled.

"She gave me this sword, she told me it was made of silver up to the hilt point, and She explained to me that as a hybrid, the silver will hurt you more than anyone else, either vampires or werewolves" Micheal further explained.

"How does it work" Lucas asked feeling angry at the same time.

"the sword through your heart will kill you" Micheal broke the news.

normally a stake through a vampire's heart will kill him, but it won't kill A First blood, nobody knows the reason.

"Why don't you do it now" Lucas asked, if His father want to kill him, He should do it now.
Micheal laughed, so hard and so long, " I am a loving Father Lucas, I can't just kill my sin in cold blood" Micheal said still laughing.

"if you don't kill me now, you might never have the chance again" Lucas warned in stern voice.

"don't harbour any thought that your siblings are going to save you, they are running out of town, last time Mariam was spotted, She was in her way to an unknown island" Micheal said, His smile now so obvious.

Lucas laughed inward, only if the fool knew what He planned.

"that is okay Michael, enough of the chit chat" Elena said from behind them, Her voice carried her sorrow, She was mourning Her son, Her dead son, Silvester.

"are you happy now Lucas" Elena asked Lucas with tears.

"are you happy that you killed the only man I loved and now you have killed my son as well" She asked again.

"that is what you get if you mess with Me" Lucas smiled.

the anger in Elena swell up, she forcefully collected the sword from Micheal and stabbed Lucas in the chest, few inches from His heart.

Lucas screamed in agony, Elena twisted the sword in Him thereby heightening His pain and automatically his scream. then She removed the sword.

"You should thank your star I miss your heart by few inches" Elena said with bitter voice. "I am going to make you suffer Lucas, you will pay for what you did"

"I have live for thousand years, I've seen the rises and falls of great men and women, I have seen people died in Battle, people tortured, I've seen People killing themselves" Lucas said facing the ground, then He looked up.

" Do you think there is anything you can do to me that will be worst than what I have faced for a thousand years" He asked.

Nobody have the answer to the question, not even Micheal, because they all knew that experience they said is the best teacher. nothing can beat the experience of a man, no matter how educated you are or how vast you are, if a man have more experience than you on something, you will always learn from Him.

"Good afternoon everybody" A voice said greeted from behind, they all turned to see a Man smiling at them. Fredrick run to Him.

"welcome back Godwill, How are you" He asked.
"I am fine" the Man whose name is Goodwill replied.

"Gordon!!!" Lucas called in surprise, He couldn't believe His eyes.

"Hello Lucas, are you enjoying yourself" Goodwill who is also know as Gordon replied Lucas.
