Since 2014, former Rivers State governor now Transport Minister, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi has been battling for the soul of oil producing Rivers state, and as well his political career. They lost control of the state as soon as he left office on May 29, 2015 when hurricane Nyesom Ezenwo Wike blew him and his structure apart in the gubernatorial election leading to Amaechi’s handover. Amaechi’s godson or anointed candidate, Peterside Dakuku lost to Wike who was “brought” into the circle of government by Amaechi. It was a tango and folklore of the Chinese kungfu student who learnt faster from his master, challenged him for a bout and finally dethroned him. Wike took control of Rivers State with huge support from former governors, political leaders and traditional rulers who claimed to have been undermined by Amaechi’s administration. Amaechi took solace in his move to the then opposition party, All Progressives Congress (APC) which he helped form as one of the REBEL GOVERNORS. That move kept his political career alive. APC won the 2015 general election and Amaechi was compensated with the portfolio of Transport Minister and one of the closest officials from the South South to President Muhammadu Buhari. With and from his position as Transport Minister, Amaechi has been struggling to regain his lost control of Rivers State. It was clear to Amaechi that Peterside Dakuku is never a match for the force and strong will of Wike. Amaechi dumped Dakuku, combed the state in search of an aspirant with credibility not necessarily from among the political class and settled for Tonye Dele Cole who is from a rich background. He is son of front-line politician and business mogul, Patrick Dele Cole. Tonye himself is President of a business conglomerate anchored on Sahara Oil and Gas Plc. For the political elites of Rivers State who are of the APC stock, Tonye is a political neophyte. They say he has the money, contact and goodwill but lacks the political intrigues and ideas to lead the state. They also argue that he met some of them in the party and as such cannot just snatch the gubernatorial ticket of the party from them. They also say, he was nowhere near the party until Amaechi dragged him in. One of those who hold this opinion is Senator Magnus Abe who has vowed to soldier on in his dream and ambition to govern the state as against Amaechi’s interest, desire and wish. Abe before now was a very close confidant of Amaechi. In some quarters, it is believed that Abe rode and rose to prominence and recognition on the crest and support of Amaechi. But while Amaechi was pursuing his APC agenda in 2014, Abe remained with the likes of Wike. There is a story that Wike and Abe had a pact for the incumbent governor to do one term and handover to Abe for one term also. This alleged pact was at the peak of the power tussle to stop Amaechi from controlling the state after he defected to the APC in 2014. Perhaps, Wike is seeking a second term just as he is fully in control of the state. This arrangement does not accommodate Abe who moved to the APC to actualise his ambition. Abe is at daggers-drawn with Amaechi who has adopted Tonye Dele Cole as the party’s candidate in the 2019 gubernatorial election. Abe is bent to fight on in realising his dream on the platform of the APC. Pundits suggest that Abe versus Amaechi could create more anarchy in the APC which could bring back Abe to reunite with Wike if the former fails in his plan to secure the APC guber ticket. Observers also opine that Abe may have been implanted in the APC by Wike to achieve the present situation on ground. As it is, Amaechi appears to be fighting his final battle. If he succeeds in making Tonye the APC guber flag bearer and the later loses to Wike, it could be the end of the road for Amaechi who, close watchers say, has lost his position in the perking order of “trusted friends” of PMB. It is alleged that the cabal within the presidency has quietly, tactically and technically sidelined him by scheming him out of relevance. The implication of this, is that Amaechi no longer has the listening ears of Mr. President and this has kept him out of the picture in most domestic and international engagements of the president until the recent picking of presidential nomination form and it’s submission by PMB where Amaechi’s presence was felt after a long time. It is also believed that after 2019 amd should PMB continue in office, Amaechi may be kicked out. Reliable voices in Aso Villa say, the cabal is not comfortable with the vaulting ambition of Amaechi. If this happens, where next will he go? What will be his fate politically? Back to Rivers politics. It is still unclear how Amaechi hopes and plans to unseat Wike with Tonye. Feelers from the state indicate that Wike has not only endeared himself to the hearts of the people of Rivers with his “inclusive” style of government which carries all along but he has the backing of the likes of former governor Peter Odili who is not happy with Amaechi for “biting the fingers that fed him”. Talking about running an “inclusive” government and carrying everyone along, Wike was hailed during the 50th anniversary celebration of the state where he accommodated and honoured all past leaders and royal fathers of the state. He has been roundly applauded for turning Port Harcourt into the sports capital of Nigeria with the hosting of several international events plus a huge support for Super Eagles campaign before and during the Russia 2018 FIFA World Cup. In Nigeria some politicians are like cats with nine lives. You rule them out at your own peril. Amaechi has exhibited this trait over time. Can he hold on? Can he stage an upset with Tonye? Can he rebuild his collapsing political structure in Rivers State? Come 2019, another chapter would have been written in the history of Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi’s political career, whether it will be the conclusive or final chapter or not, we wait to see. Everything you need to live well Often times, we complain about boring conversations. However, leaving the job of starting and carrying on a conversation should not be the job of one person alone. Ask yourself this question. If they are not doing it right, are you? Striking and maintaining a conversation can be difficult, but it should not be. Conversation is communication, communication is life. When getting to know someone, here are a few tips to ensure that your conversations are never boring: 1. No interrogation, share When you only ask questions and don’t share, it feels like an interrogation. This should not be, especially when trying to get to know someone. Whenever others feel sceptical about engaging in a conversation with you, sharing your own experiences while asking questions to know their opinion is a good way to break the ice. 2. No oversharing As much as it is important to share, do not take over the conversation and go on and on about yourself. You will keep the other person excluded from the conversation they should be a part of. It will help also you to avoid disconcerting yourself or the other person with uncomfortable words you would have known of if you were not dominating the conversation. 3. Ask open-ended questions These are the kind of questions that maintain a conversation. They are capable of allowing conversations to flow from one topic to another. This way, it struggle is less and the conversation is more. 4. Stay current on happenings You want a good conversation, stay updated. Asides from keeping yourself informed, it aids while conversing. This is not saying that there are no things to talk about asides current happenings, this is saying that it helps. 5. Common ground Thinking about the other person’s interest is required for having a good conversation. “Wow, you love Brymo, I love him too. Did you see his Banuso music video it was ………” It gets easier from there on. 6. S.O.F.T.E.N technique This is one important technique to know when having face-to-face conversations. It’s a good thing to know when networking or meeting new people. Smile genuinely: This tells the other person that your interest is sincere, thereby making them comfortable. Open up your posture: A relaxed posture gives the impression of interest and readiness to converse. Forward lean: This paints the picture of focus, in what the other person has to say. Touch: This is dependent on the kind of relationship you have with the person. Eye contact: Maintaining eye contact is very important. Nod: This shows that you are really listening to the person. An Australian snake catcher has captured on camera, the moment two coastal carpet Pythons attacking each other inside a family's spare bedroom. The drama between the two reptiles all went down after the male snakes fell from a ceiling duct inside a home in a western Brisbane suburb. "This pair has been a bit naughty," Lana Field from Snake Catchers Brisbane said in a Facebook Live from the scene on Sunday. "They have pushed their way through from the ceiling and left a bit of a mess." The snakes, apparently "small" for that area, are about 5.7-feet-long, Field said, as the reptiles thrashed and wrestled near a bedroom closet. The video shows the snakes twisting around each other, and even slamming the other to the ground. The reason for the violent fight? A lady snake. Field explained that males tracking the scent of a female python will often duke it out to prove who is stronger, and more deserving of the mate. "They can continue like this for hours until one is exhausted," Field said. While these snakes were evenly matched, Field said battles between large and small snakes can end in a nasty bite. Field, who appeared feet away from the raging pythons, also assured viewers that she was watching at a safe distance and the snakes were more interested in each other than her. She recorded more than five minutes of video before she said she caught and relocated the pythons to a bushy creek over a mile away. No word on the location or relationship status of the female python at the center of this love triangle. Even at that it seems Tinubu is hell bent on d removal of Ambode next year |
Seems like there is a little battle in Tinubu’s other room. There seems to be a disagreement between national leader of the All Profressives Congress (APC) Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu and his wife Senator Oluremi over the second term ambition of governor Akinwunmi Ambode. The incumbent governor of Lagos State is seeking a second term in office under the All Progressives Congress (APC). Ambode had on Monday picked the nomination form of the APC, but shortly after, two others, Mr. Jide Sanwon-Olu and Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, obtained similar forms. There was a reported rift between Ambode and Tinubu and the favour was swinging to the direction of Sanwon-Olu. However, Oluremi Tinubu is believed to have calmed her husband down to allow Ambode recontest under the APC. There was also report that the presidency appealed to Asiwaju on behalf of the Lagos State governor. But the matter may not have died completely as inside source say Tinubu is still bent on dropping Ambode, a decision that may have caused a major internal issue between him and his senator wife. Since declaring public his second term ambition, Ambode has been faced with tough political challenges. On Tuesday, just a day after picking his interest form, 57 council chairmen who are loyal to Tinubu reportedly met and pledged their support to his alleged preferred candidate, Jide Sanwo-Olu. The council chairmen allegedly threatened to impeach Ambode if he does not drop his second term agenda. Source:https://crusadersiii./2018/09/14/tinubu-wife-at-loggerhead-over-ambodes-second-term-bid/

mrjaydee:And thief is d right word to use? |
This massive reptile was spotted and killed by students residing at Eziobodo (FUTO off campus residential area), Owerri in Imo State. The dangerous animal was displayed publicly for residents to feed their eyes on. This has raised the question of how the snake was able to sneak into a residential area rather than a thick bush or forest where it belongs.

I think karma just came to pay ambode a visit . he and Tinubu did same to Fashola |
Lagos state might just be about experience another political fraca |
The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos is currently embroiled in a bitter power struggle between incumbent Governor Akinwumi Ambode and his godfather, the former Governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu over the 2019 elections. Ambode and Tinubu have been engaged in a silent war for a while over issues relating to his purge of Tinubu’s loyalists from his inner circle and a number of issues relating to contract awards within Lagos state. Tinubu is opposing the reelection of Ambode after a lot of pressure from his loyalists including Osun state governor, Rauf Aregbesola who leads his political structure. The Tinubu loyalists have all threatened to boycott the party should Ambode get the ticket. The Tinubu loyalists presented Jide Sanwonolu to the principal who has decided to go with the flow. Tinubu who has maintained a distance from the issue however refused to endorse the Governor or any other candidate publicly. However his insistence on direct primaries against the delegate system points to the fact that the party leader is attempting a coup and has raised the alarm bells in the Ambode camp. Ambode is not going down without a fight, as reports filtered in that he is in talks with the opposition People’s Democratic Party, an allegation that his officials have denied. However, Ambode seems to be losing grip of the state machinery as the Tinubu’s favored candidate has received the endorsement of the 57 Chairmen of the Local Government Areas in Lagos who were handpicked by TInubu. The recent feud in Lagos has become a source of concern and division in the Presidency. Though Tinubu is highly esteemed by the Presidency, the APC is worried by the loss of a sitting state Governor ahead of the polls which is increasingly becoming a possibility as the Governor seems set to fight back. A recent expose of Tinubu’s grand corruption in Lagos state by a whistleblower who was former Managing Director of his company, AlphaBeta, Dapo Apara has been described as an Ambode hatchet job. Another concern is that the revelation has put Buhari’s war against corruption on the spotlight as citizens would be watching to see if the former Governor and National Leader of his party the APC would be investigated by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission in the face of the overwhelming evidence presented in the petition. However, investigations reveal that this is not the case as a faction of the party loyal to former Governor Babatunde Fashola, who is also an enemy of his predecessor, Tinubu has decided to strike and further the tensions between the two estranged bedfellows. The Fashola camp which includes people like the AMCON chairman Muiz Banire are floating Mr. Obafemi Hamzat, a special adviser to Fashola and former commissioner of works under his regime to challenge Ambode and Tinubu’s anoited candidate. This threatens to polarised the party further as the battle within the largest opposition state threatens to consume the party. While reclaiming the Presidency in 2019 remains Buhari’s major headache, the crisis in Lagos, the most important state for the ruling party is only compounding that. Dedicate this update to tracyberry ![]() EPISODE 18 : THE REVENGE GAME Mrs Jackson had to travel for an important assignment and so won't be around for some time. On the day she was preparing to go, and it was Mr Jackson that was going to drop her off at the car park, she called Ruth,I, Shade and begged Us to be good children as she knew we were beefing each other secretly , she then told US to settle our differences and she won't on with her sermon of forgiveness. After she finished, she told Us to hug each other the way we do back then if 2 people fight and they are been separated , they will be told to shake, hug each other as a sign of peace. In this case I must confess that I was a bit shy, not that I wasn't happy with the development but I didn't want Shade and Ruth to see that I had joy in it, hence, I feigned as if I was not willing but after much persuasion I hugged them, grudgingly , only if they could see the dance moves in my mind, I was feeling that I had tapped current. We later hugged amidst smiles , and Mrs Jackson gave Shade #100, gave Ruth #100 but when it got to my turn, she said I was the man so I couldn't take the same amount as the ladies. So she gave me #200. Oh! Only if this woman knew that she just added fuel to the fire she just made efforts to quench . The way Shade and Ruth looked at me with shock and disgust in their faces would be enough to scare me from drinking water from any of them. Ruth couldn't believe that her mother would favour me and give me more money than her, her countenance changed, but I didn't care, what concern an agbero with overload. I helped her to carry some of her luggages to the car when Mr Jackson came out from the room. Ruth and Shade helped to carry the rest of the luggages. We were all by the car when a very beautiful lady alighted from a bus that just stopped at the front of the house. We was just staring at her until when she reached closed to the car and prostrated to greet Mr and Mrs Jackson, who both answered her greeting and introduced her to us as the house help who will be assisting in the house until she returns from her journey and her name was Rashidat. She once again reiterated the fact that we should be good children and not fight but be on our best behavior. With this pretty lady around, I was sure going to be on my bestest behavior . After the goodbyes, they left leaving I and Shade, Ruth staring at each other. Rashidat had gone with them maybe to buy some items on their way back. I was left alone with these two Yoruba she-demons, I just rushed into the house so I could watch any interesting movie . ........................... On the Friday, Mr Jackson had told me to help him iron one of his trousers that he wanted to put on since he had an important meeting to catch up with. I was using this old Philip pressing iron to iron, when I Shade came and hit me with turning stick for two, I didn't react but she hit me a second time and the pain was too excruciating so I chased after her round the house . Minutes later, I heard someone shout my name and I rushed inside only to be welcomed with the smell of burning textile, I went to the corridor and I saw Mr Jackson vehemently angry and Ruth by his side putting off the wall socket and carrying the pressing iron, he showed me the trouser I was ironing and it was burnt at the back, damn! I had destroyed that trouser, aside from the hairdryer and shouting he gave me I felt really bad. Ruth had said I was chasing Shade round the house and playing and that was why I left the iron on the cloth . That seemed to increase the whole drama as I was punished(banned from eating that day) that was one of the punishments I hated, beat me but don't starve me or deny me food, its unforgivable. The two Yoruba demons wanted to taunt so they rushed and made breakfast and started eating it before me and they were seriously laughing and giving each other high fives and yabbing me indirectly. I couldn't bear the haunt anymore so I rushed into my room and laid down on the bed. As If that was what I needed, I calmed down and tried to rethink how everything had happened, I recalled I was ironing the leg part of the trouser and I had made the iron to stand before I chased Shade and there was no how the iron could have been left on the buttocks part of the trouser, I smelt a foul play, Shade must have been the one to distract me and Ruth must have put the iron on the trouser so it could get burnt but since she was shabby in the task she dropped it on the buttocks which wasn't possible for the iron to fall towards since it was behind the iron. Yes! This girls were responsible, they had gotten one over me. I wanted to confront them but I knew I had no tangible evidence to back up my claim. I had stayed in my room thinking any way possible to get prove or evidence but all attempt I thought of wasn't good enough, the rumbling sound from my stomach had remembered me that I was yet to eat, maybe that was why I had still not been able to think well. I just gave up the idea and remembered I had #200 that Mrs Jackson had given me, I smiled and stood up from the bed and made my way out of the house. I had to pass through the sitting room and these demons were there watching a movie. I just frowned my face and passed, my stomach didn't see any better time to rumble than for it to rumble when I was exactly behind them, they heard it and they bursted into laughter,Ruth then belched in a bid to tell that they were totally satisfied, Shade said it seemed like my own share that they ate was more sweeter than theirs, then they bursted intp another round of laughter. I rocked my shame and went out. I didn't see any shop opened for me to buy anything edible, what kind of bad day was I experiencing, those mallams that had shops must have gone for prayers. The I looked around until I saw a pharmacy at the end of the street. I rushed there and asked if they had anything edible that I could buy, a guy came out and discovered it was one of our student from school, he was a notorious guy who bullied people a lot in school, he was from the secondary arm. He recognized me and said was I not Favor's brother the one that disgraced Mr Williams, I smiled and he hailed me as a strong man and that I was his kind of guy. He then asked me what brought me to that area and I told him I came to stay with a family friend and described Ruth to him that that was where I was staying and he was surprised even more when he realized that I was staying in the same house as Shade and Ruth, he asked how i was faring and I narrated my ordeal to him how the girls were haunting me. He smiled and said I shouldn't worry that he would help me to revenge and deal with the girls, I smiled and told him I would be very grateful. He whispered something into my ears, after which I grinned and thanked him. He gave me something for the task I was to undertake, he then gave me ribena, jomi drink, and one big biscuit free without paying. I thanked him, shook his hand and off I went home with a very bad revenge plan given to me by my evil Ahitophel, Ruth and Shade were going to get a taste of their own medicine. To be continued..... |
