I knew I slept smiling that night cos i woke up smiling, happy and ready for the day. I took my bath with very cold water dressed up and was ready for the polytechnic. I got to school met with the HOD in his office we talked a little and not too long the meeting started introduction was done, department issues where raised new agenda where raised etc etc and later dey did allocation of courses to each lectures and luckily I was giving EEC 112 Electrical Engineering science to take incoming ND1. 3departments will be offering dis course (1)Electrical Engineering), (2)foundry metallurgy) and (3)mineral resources engineering) the rest of the meeting really went well as we where served food and drinks for refreshment, the meeting ended on a very high note and encouragement and was to meet eachother in peace the following year for the new academic year calendar as the department as closed for the session. I went to the HODs office he gave me the course syllabus and content and he told me I shouldnt let him down giving me a course to offer, he gave me a whole lot of fatherly advice and told me something important he said mykel from the look of things I know you are a very fine looking young man and adorable but pls do not date or have anything to do with d girls or lady you are lecturing you could find a lady outside those departments you are taking pls you have to keep your prestige dignity and respect as there lecturer. i thanked him dearly and appreciated him for counting on me and I promise I won't let him down and would put in my best always for the department.. we said good bye and told him I would be traveling the following day and we would see January 3rd for resumption. left his office I thanked GOD for everything he has done for me and appreciated him for things to come. I put a call through to blessing again she didn't pick up I called like 5 times she didn't still pick up I was bothered if something must have happened to her. I just carried myself and went back to the lodge on my way I branched GWOL bought 4 plate of take away jollof rice and one bottle of campari and took it to d Lodge to celebrate bet9ja money with d last 4 men standing we ate and was sipping the campari gist them of polytechnic appointment they couldn't believe it,they where like mykel you are so lucky to get a course for your self you don make am you go see money oo and bla bla bla. I told them I would be traveling tomorrow been Tuesday) that am missing home and I would need to start working on my course syllabus ASAP. my phone ranged and it was toyosi the GTbank staff I met in camp she was like mykel my love don forget me ooo I told her never, that i called her number it wasn't reachable ,we talked for some minutes and I told her that I would be travelling the next day evening by night bus. she ask me to come over to her place in jos right away so it will be easier for me than coming from barkin ladi and also we would have more time to talk and gist, she also said her roommate has traveled down to lagos that I should come over and keep her company. I just suddenly start packing my stuff's I needed few things anyway since am still coming back, my guys in the lodge was like mykel where are you going now you said you are traveling on Tuesday night now, y d sudden change of mind I told them am going to jos to chill with one of my babe den travel from there on Tuesday night. I hugged dem wish them happy Xmas and new year in advance and I left for jos. I called queen to inform her am traveling she wished me journey mercy and not to forget her I said I won't, hanged up and I put a call through to blessing as well she didn't still pick up, I was getting fed up this time and very angry. i checked the address toyosi sent to me to drop @ miangu junction or bustop I told the driver and rested my head and slept off,it was the driver who woke me up oga oga we don reach there ooo miangu I alighted form the boss and paid. I called toyosi and told her am already at d junction she said owk and came to pick me in no time she was so happy and glad to see me and I like that note and expression about her, we took a keke to her house and went in it was a self contain well furnished and equipped everything homely, I told her she has a nice apartment and good taste, she was like you are Welcome she gave me a very chilled water from the fridge I gulped it cos i really needed it,she ask me what I would love to eat that she cooked spaghetti I told her I just finish eating before coming to her place that am owkay for the now, she looked at me once again and said see as your face they shine this Jos weather really good for your body ooo I just answered her my sister na GOD ooo she said who is your sister I said you now she said sister kor niece Ni. we both laughed and laughed,gist more n more I cracked her ribs she was just rolling on the floor laughing. it was getting late in the Evening so I told her to get dressed up so we should go out she did and we ended up sitting in one beer parlour along the road. we ordered for two plates of ukworbi and a bottle of legend for me n she drank Smirnoff ice. I must confess that ukworbi won my heart it was so delicious and cheap #500 per plate it was up to standard, I ordered for another one plates extra toyosi and I ate that together she really enjoyed it and Said she has been staying around for some time now and she never knew they sell such delicacy in her hood. I ordered for one can of bullet drink for myself drank it to get a perfect and balanced equation.

Opening the door to his apartment, Oby trudge slowly to his bed and flopped down on it. These few days had been really hectic for him combining both his education and a part time job and it was telling in him

"Just five minutes sleep and I ll be okay" he muttered to himself and closed his eyes for a short nap

Slowly, he opened his eye and his hands went to his phone in order to check the time only to find out that he, not just had a five minutes nap but a three hour sleep.
It was 5pm and almost time for his shift which began and 7pm. He also had to contend with a grumbling stomach which seemed to have a mind of its own,so he got up and went straight to clean himself up since he slept in the clothes he had worn to school and got himself ready for work

Business for the restaurant he work at seem to move at a slower pace today as there were not a lot of costumers around today. His job mainly consisted of being a chef aid, dishwashing and taking out the garbage and since there was not much to do, he played around the cooking area with the chef whom he had come to see as a good friend of which he didn't have a lot of - if at all he had any

Unlike some days that had him constantly in his feet either washing the dishes or delivering orders to the waiters, today afforded him the time to think about his life and how boring and uneventful it was turning out to be. Just as he was reminiscent on the turn of events that led him here..........

"Order for table 4. Here take" Kate the blonde waitress handed him the order paper

"Finally we have an order" the chef exclaimed in a dramatic way while collecting the paper to go start cooking. Within fifteen minutes the food was ready and Oby took it to the delivery window were Kate stood waiting for the food order to take to the customer

"Here is your order for table 4" Oby said as he handed the food over to her

"Thanks Oby" she replied , take the food along with her to go serve the customer

Oby lingered just to watch Kate go.
"Damn that gurl has got a nasty piece of ass" he thought to himself but immediately shook the thought off. He couldn't deny that he had some kind of attraction to the girl, but would he work on it and ask her out? That was left to be seen.

"You know I can always ask her on your behalf you know" the chef said catching Oby by surprise

"What ? don't look so surprised. I was once your age and a nervous wreck when it came to girls

" Ben, you and I both know I am way out of her league." Oby responded with a sigh of defeat

" like I said, i can ask her on your behalf in a subtle way that is" Ben smiled with mischief as he winked at Oby

" Please don't . let me work up the courage to do so myself" Oby begged

"Okay. But you have four days then I come in" Ben threatened playfully

"Okay, deal" Oby agreed and the changed the topic to upcoming Superbowl

Oby's shift ended at 2 am in the morning. But didn't want to say at the staff room reserved for night shifters as the there were always body action going on at night that Oby felt uncomfortable with. He was fortunate to have his home in a nearby neighborhood hence he walked home. But he was also unfortunate to have it in a rough neighborhood which mearnt that he had to improvise and make friends with one or two of the local gang members so that they could help spread the word the he was harmless to all, a move that favoured him. These friends told him when to and not cone back at night effectively being his eyes and ears within their world
That didn't mean that he'd leave his guard down when walking home after a late night shift

He was just about turning the corner that led to his block, when he felt a nasty foreboding. he stopped and surveyed around him. He saw nothing and then kept walking. He felt it again and this time it came more stronger that before. So without thinking, ran as fast as his legs could carry him screaming at the top of his voice to wake the entire neighborhood. Explaining could cone tomorrow but today, he wanted to survive.

He didn't stop until he was inside of his apartment building. Only then did he stop to catch his breath with loud heaves and coughing fits while laughing at himself like a slowpoke

He put his hands in his pocket in order to fish out His keys only to discover that it was not there
" shit! Shit! Shit!!!" He exclaimed. What was he going to do now

He went down to the Porter and first apologized to the middle-aged lady about his previous actions earlier and explained to her what had happened especially about losing his keys hoping against hope that either she had a spare or tools he could use to pry open the door
"I truly sorry for your predicament but you would have to wait till the morning when the foreman comes in" she had said

Sighing with resignation, he walked ba

ck to his door and slid down the floor waiting for morning to come. Not knowing the extent of his tiredness due to the USAIN BOLT he had to do, his eyes drooped slowly and within ten minutes he was sound asleep with legs stretched out on the floor
