spikes C: We need reliable servers, power supply and good internet connection. For now, the only people who, i think, that can do that are the ISP'swill the ISP's do this without considering ''what is in it for us'' at least they should know about it right? |
Can this be done? Why do you think it will work or wont work? Lets hear your opinion. |
A group of frnds on FB, complained about seeing only SA as the choice of MIRROR when downloading softwares. Then they descided to see how this can be done in nigeria. Having a naija base mirror for software downloading. Whats is your take on this one? |
sir, i admire the fact that your site is very responsive, looks very much like a mobile site.... |
GraphicsPlus: Again, you can still use your <nav>. Then go to your css and do this:thank you graphicspalace |
sorry i couldnt post the codes... anyways the mistake is from me. i used <nav> which is a html5 tag and is not supported in older browsers of IE and some others. so i found the solution online to use html5shiv. |
sorry for the big image, i should have just reduced it, it looks to big on pc. |
hi, please i need the solution to this problem.. the place where i typed in "this stuff here contains images of social networks" displayed differently in IE8 from other browsers. i fixed a height:15%; and border-bottom:1px solid grey (just to debug and see how big it will be), but this did not work in IE8 at all and it work fine in the other ones. (ff, chrome and opera). please i need a solution to this. thank you all. the first image is for IE8 while the second is FF edit: this question has been answered. Thanks to graphicsplus.

Am in, no update yet ni? |
Matthew briggs: http://www.jason.com.ng/post/50976474476/founders-the-nigerian-stylei dont support non technical co-founders at all. I cant agree with him at all. |
with this it will reduce the number of threads to be created and at the same time help NL database. Cos when you click on the thread that is shown in a new board, it wll take you to the original post. |
I wanted to create a new thread about startup incubator in nigeria - just to get the list of them and maybe when they start, with duration, and i want users of webmaster board to also see it without creating a new thread there. Except, it gets to FP or users from webmaster board comes to the programming board before they can see it. then this feature came (IMO it is a problem which needs to be solved) so, whats the feature? BoardTag yeah i call it BoardTag How does it function? BoardTag can be used to tag different boards, which you would like a thread or a new post to show without creating a new thread in that board. ///// you might also extend this to user tagging. [bbefore i forget, what are the startup incubators we have in nigeria, when they start registeration of startups, and the time it takes to complete the incubation class? |
Javanian: Yes you canlovely, then i will like to start it that way. So whats your way in of the matter. malign: You can, but in order to apply them to a problem-set, you need some sort of syntax. You could use flow-charts, and pseudo-code if you want a rounded understanding, that you can later translate into some sort of programming language; and more often than not, this is how programming is generally taught in a lot of universities.ok, now thats fine, and that way, i dont need to learn a new language all becos of algorithm, i can just used any language i know to implement, as far as i understand the algorithm. |
now i understand what you guys are saying ,,, but the thing is : is it not possible to learn algorithm without a partivular language? Then i can implement anything i want to in any language? |
what is this idea? just curious, don' ;t worry nobody will steal it... ![]() |
WhiZTiM: with respect to Mathematics...thank you. Already knows theses |
Ajibel: Hi, okay am learning algorithms too. I started out learning from Wikibook-Algorithms and data structuresthank you, i will download those books, have checked some post on nairaland and i found some useful guides. Regarding programming lang i will choose python. |
So i have descided to learn algorithm and data structures (for web app development), and to be able to write good codes that is well organized. Therefore i want to know above average - if not all (since am still a web app learner, and based on javascript and it frameworks + RoR), mind you i have no prior understanding of algorithm, have seen things like O(n^2), sorting, binary, brute force algorithm types. But have not done anything yet. So here are my questions: 1. As a beginner to this, what topics of Maths should i know very well. 2. Where can i get detailed beginner tutorial. 3.what is your advice to me . Thank you, and God bless you. |
I think there is difference between a Programmer and a Web Developer. And also there is a difference btw software programming and web programming. As a newbie (if there is anything lower than this- thats me) it will be better we accept that we are ''web users'' and a web developer or php/javascript developer .(it is not a small thing to call yourself a developer). Am not in support of anyone here, just my opinion.
Hey guys....let's (teens/so calld amatuers) frm a team,or a group....wrk 2geda learn frm each oda...evn hav an official fb page...hw abt dat
good you had better create a new post for that with a title ''to all newbies in web programming''... It will be great,, i go join oh!!! Now create that thread fast |
interested sir... Am in |
elvis10ten: Please list big companys that their main founder didn't put their hand in codes ?, just wanna know. @OP please visit www.paulgraham.com and you will see what am saying.steve jobs, chet kanojia..@mathew And please check this link out, same question but in hackers news https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=46024 |
elvis10ten: Please list big companys that their main founder didn't put their hand in codes ?, just wanna know. @OP please visit www.paulgraham.com and you will see what am saying.there are many of them. Yes! Many of them. The truth is learning to code is a good thing, but the other truth is as far as starting up is concern, you need two major key players, The technical guy, and the designer. Business things fit come in later. these wonderful founder, said he tried learning how to code, but there was no passion for that, rather sticks to what he knows best UX/UI and Design please is these not a major skill in startups? Come on guys. It is not easy to leave you salary work or something and come join a ''startup'' as a big time programmer when the co-founder does not understand what is at stake. And the truth is he knows and am sure he is passionate about it. |
GraphicsPlus: Let`s watch then. Later, you will remember my advice. Drop the idea for now and go learn at least a language.what kind of language should he learn? Html and css, python, php? Lets assume it is a web app? Atleast help him with the appropriate things sir. Thank you, and i have also learnt from your contributions too. Thank you again |
Matthew briggs: I Will proceed with your second suggestion.those next suggestions, you need to know how to deliver your msg without selling your idea to them. And at the same time, you should take your time with them too, try and have private chat with them. And again contact these guys, they can guide you, fayimora, slyr0x, dual core, omo-to-dun, seun, yawatide, and graphicsplus to mention a few you are welcome boss.. |
HOW CAN YOU BUILD A GREAT TEAM from what i have read and learn, you can build a good team for your startups by doing the following. 1. Have a good understand of what you are going into. 2. Have a clear picture of what your startup is solving. 3.since you know ui/ux, build some good mockups and prototypes and maybe do some user testing. 4. Have a clear cut vision and goal for your startup. (no developer will want to join your startup just like that.) it is not easy ''starting up'' WITH THESE IN PLACEDO THE FOLLOWING: 1. Go to, tech meetups, where you can find developers and designer, product engineers of all kind.. There is one in yaba (i think they open or hold every saturday- with free wifi and programming lessons too) it is called cchub i think. 2. Connect with programmers online:. You can use facebook, twitter, google plus.. And also register in tech forums too. i make use of this often and it works. I even get foreign developers i mean big time ones, to ask questions too. 3.. Join quora and sprouter to get some of your questions answered. |
@mathew briggs, you can have a good team,.. You said you focused on UX and UI, and am sure you also know some good design, maybe with photoshop, and other design tools? Right? Then look for a passionate, interested co-founder (who is better than you, in programming)... Then both of you can start.. You know Design and UX/UI and he knows ''Top Coding''.... Your startup is ready. i am also learning how to build @topic and also a great startups, so i have read a lot from lean startups to building a great product.. And i have so many non coders built technological(web-wise) startups by getting passionate and interested coders into it. |
please what are the category of food we have, for instance we have apetizer/Desert (food you give before you serve the main food) hope am right. I want to pile it up for something amazing. Just please list the ones you know and the food they have too |
