Christianity Etc › Re: Random Musings On Religion. by Dantedasz(op): 8:28am On Apr 26, 2023
Is the miracle of the splitting of the moon possible if placed aside physics?
This miracle in my opinion goes against what we know from physics.
There are a lot of videos on YouTube where Muslim scholars argue that there are ridges on the surface of the moon which proves that Muhammed actually split the moon into two parts.
I leave the reader of this thread to choose what to believe. kiss

The following screen shot shows names of some of the people that witnessed this earth shaking miracle of the splitting of the moon.

Christianity Etc › Re: Random Musings On Religion. by Dantedasz(op):
Islamic writings inform us that the polytheists of Muhammed's era doubted that he was a prophet of God and as such challenged him to perform a miracle of splitting the moon into two parts.
Muhammed then asked them that if he splits the moon into two parts Will the doubters convert from polytheism to Islam and become Muslims?

The polytheists agreed to Muhammed's challenge and accepted to convert to Islam if he could indeed split the moon into two parts. Muhammed then proceeds to point a finger at the moon 🌙 🌚 and the moon is divided into two parts.

Muslims actually believe and argue that Muhammed physically split the moon into two parts.

I actually enjoy reading books about Islam.
I particularly find the story of Prophet Muhammed and his flying steed/horse/creature very fascinating.
The story goes that Muhammed flew on this creature to heaven where he meets lots of pious men of God such as Moses,Jesus and Abraham before finally ascending to the highest heaven where he meets Allah.
Some Muslims believe it was a physical journey while some believe it was a spiritual journey .
Haddiths and Qur'an support this story. Muslims believe the story to be true.
What do you think?
Quite Frankly I find it amusing . Just like talking snakes🐍 and talking donkeys 🫏.

I think this guys video explains it story of Buraq, Muhammeds' flying creature better.

Christianity Etc › Re: Paul And His Loud Silence On The Virgin Birth. by Dantedasz(m): 7:16am On Apr 22, 2023
TheMadame:
Good day everyone.
First of all I wish to state that I am a Christian, however I am a Christian that asks questions. My question concerns the virgon birth of our lord Jesus Christ which is recorded in the Holy Bible in the gospels of Mathew and Luke.
The Apostle Paul wrote 14 books in the new testament. He wrote a lot of letters to various churches in different towns and countries admonishing Christian's on how to live a good life but he never once mentions the divine virgin birth of our lord Jesus.
Please I need people who are well versed in the Bible study to explain this to me and others who might have this same question.
Is it that Apostle Paul was not aware of the virgin birth being a late convert to Christianity or was there a hidden reason why he fails to mention the virgin birth in any of his letters?
I am intrigued because the virgin birth of Jesus is the foundation of Christianity.
I appreciate any answers to my questions.
I think this original post is self explanatory.
Then some one with a loose nut is going off point and not addressing the simple issues raised which is that WHY IS PAUL DESPITE ALL HIS WRITING SILENT ON THE VIRGIN BIRTH?
If you don't have the answer you don't need to start an off point argument in order to create pages and pages of nonsensical arguments. I was not the original poster. I emphasised my own point that the early Christians had no knowledge of the virgin birth. Paul had no knowledge of the virgin birth therefore he does not mention it. The virgin birth stories in the books of Mathew and Luke are insertions by the Romans. The Romans in their numerous pre chrisyanity religions celebrated virgin births.Remove the two stories from Matthew and Luke and there is no virgin birth because John and Mark do not talk about a virgin birth in their gospels.
Then that woman with loose screws upstairs leaves all these and attaches herself to a by product of the substance of the argument and starts going off tangent.

Simple, You lied regarding the content of Paul's letters which I am sure you have never in fact read and compared to the Gospels for yourself before making the claim that you did. undecided
Lied?
What do you mean lied?
I hope you don't have a loose screw somewhere upstairs??
I am not responding to your rudeness again.

Christianity Etc › Re: Random Musings On Religion. by Dantedasz(op): 7:55pm On Apr 21, 2023
Religion is regional. It therefore follows that when a person is born he adopts the religion of the place where he/she is born, or in other words you adopt the religion of your parents /guardian whom you live with.
In most cases you are not given any choice, you are force fed religion. In other words you are indoctrinated from birth. This is the dictatorship of religion. So if you are born in Saudi Arabia it naturally follows that you become an Islamist /Muslim. If you are born in Italy it follows that you probably end up as a Christian.
In your household, if your parents are Jews you would most likely end up in Judaism. You are not consulted, you are just indoctrinated. From the home to the schools to the religious houses you are bombarded with religion on a daily. You are being brainwashed!
The shackles of religion are very tight and you are assaulted everyday with symbols of religion of all faiths.
When you want to fill any government forms you are asked what religion you belong to? In the courts you are expected to swear a religious oath. The symbols and cacaphony of religion stare back at you and assault your senses from every street corner.
The books and pamphlets of religions are all over the place to keep you permanently brain washed all your life. If you get married there is a big chance you have to do it in a religious house and when you finally die before being placed 6 feet in the ground a representative of religion performs the last rite.
The indoctrination is deep, such that if you attempt to break free from the chains of religion, you are viewed as an odd personality.
It is like being imprisoned by religious shackles. In fact in some climes, if you try to break free from your religious chains you could be KILLED! It is that deep.
In fact for some people the indoctrination is so deep that they don't even understand that religion has imprisoned them.
It takes a lot of effort to escape from religion but you can do it. This is why occasionally when I have spare time I write these little threads so that someone somewhere will read it and probably begin to think deeply and carefully.

The simple fact is Paul is one of the main sources of the teachings of Christ as we know them in the scriptures. For him to never once mention the virgin birth in all his writings is extremely strange unless the early Christians did not believe that Jesus was the son of God. If the early Christians knew nothing about a virgin birth, it logically follows that they believed he was a human/man. From this deduction it follows that the virgin birth stories in Luke and Mathew gospels are latter interpolations. From this the trinity concept of the holy ghost/spirit is proven to be false because there was no holy spirit/virgin Mary conception.

The early Christians never believed or preached a virgin birth because it never happened. The virgin birth stories were insertions after Paul, hence his failure to mention it even in the minutest detail because he did not know about it, he did not believe in it and as such could not preach it!

Still one of the saddest scariest things to watch realising that humans in the thrall of their own delusions did this to other humans.
Quite Frankly,I have nothing against delusion of talking snakes or talking donkeys or having imaginary friends, but the delusion of fighting for your god to the extent of hijacking a passenger plane and the steering it into a concrete building is just plain insanity!

The following video is a long one. You need to have enough data to watch it to the end. Then you ponder: Why do things like this happen? Why would misguided people do this kind of thing to propagate their religious beliefs and finally if there is an Almighty omnipotent and omniscient creator, why would he/she allow this to happen to his creations??

Frank Turner,amazing artist!

There are so many religions, sects and cults in the world,in fact there are over 4,000 known forms of religions. The funny fact is every religion and their adherents belive their sect is the best and the god of their religion is the ONE true god and all other gods are fake and not true religions.

It is amusing to note that adherents of each religion belive their god is the true god and because of this god they are ready to go to war to defend their god, they are ready to kill others for this god in fact in extreme cases some of them are ready to kill themselves in order to defend this god.
Cultures, civilisations.books, citadels of learning and education have been wiped out throughout the centuries for the adherents of religion to propagate their dogma.
The funniest aspect of all this rubbish is that the Catholics despise the pentecostal and together they despise the Muslims. Among the Muslims the shittes can't stand the sunni, the sunni cannot stand the ahmadiyya, the sufi despise the zaidi.
The Mormons can't stand the scientologists and the jehovahs, and above all the practitioners of African traditional religion believe all these Abrahamic religions are bunkum.
If there really is a all powerful god why wouldn't he point mankind in the direction of the one true religion instead of this cacophony of confusion that currently exists.

I find it amusing that religionists find love in quoting their books of dogma.
If you are having a debate with a religionist, there is always a tendency for them to run and start quoting varied verses of their religious books,at most times relying on emotion and lack of logic.
Despite the fact that at the sight of religion all sense of logic vanishes, religionists are logical and adept at quotations from their illogical books of dogma.
As much as their books advocate misogyny, mass murder, slavery, abuse and discrimination, there are aspects of these books that advocate love, goodness and care towards others.
My point simply is that majority of advocates of religion tend to subscribe to the former aspects rather than the latter. As such there is more tendency to tilt towards murder discrimination, wars, misogyny and attacks on homosexuality and assumed witches and wizards than the tendency doing any good towards others.

jeff2010:
Bought a supposed brand new Samsung S10+ phone from psalmz (https://www.nairaland.com/psalmz).
Got home and discovered that the phone was actually a used phone they had repackaged.
The AKG earpiece was fake and got bad the next day.
The battery only lasts about 6 hours when it should be min of 12hours.
I complained to him 2 days after buying the phone and he promised to change it.
I kept going to Ikeja to find him and every time I wouldn't meet him there.
He finally told me to meet some guy to change the phone for me, I was expecting to be given another new phone but all I got was UK used.
Told him since I hadn't used the phone for a month, he can deduct 30k from the 180k I paid him.
Gimme 150k lemme return the phone and bear my loss.
That was where story changed to 'business isn't done that way'.

If you are going to buy phone from him, I hope you do so with utmost diligence.
Preferably, don't buy from him because he's a cheat.
OP,
I suggest you keep the pressure on him by taking your case to the dispute resolution thread of this section with all the evidence of how he passed off a used lemon phone as a new one.
