Shake It Out lyrics by Florence And The Machine.

Regrets collect like old friends
Here to relive your darkest moments
I can see no way, I can see no way
And all of the ghouls come out to play
And every demon wants his pound of flesh
But I like to keep some things to myself
I like to keep my issues drawn
It's always darkest before the dawn

And I've been a fool and I've been blind
I can never leave the past behind
I can see no way, I can see no way
I'm always dragging that horse around
And our love is pastured such a mournful sound
Tonight I'm gonna bury that horse in the ground
So I like to keep my issues drawn
But it's always darkest before the dawn

Shake it out, x3 ooh woaaah
Shake it out, x4 ooh woaaaah
And it's hard to dance with a devil on your back
So shake him off, oh woah

I am done with my graceless heart
So tonight I'm gonna cut it out and then restart
Cause I like to keep my issues drawn
It's always darkest before the dawn

Shake it out, x4 ooh woaaaah
Shake it out, x4 ooh woaaaah
And it's hard to dance with a devil on your back
So shake him off, oh woah
And it's hard to dance with a devil on your back so shake him off

And given half the chance would I take any of it back
It's a fine romance but its left me so undone
It's always darkest before the dawn

Oh woah, oh woah...

And I'm damned if I do and I'm damned if I don't
So here's to drinks in the dark at the end of my road
And I'm ready to suffer and I'm ready to hope
It's a shot in the dark and right at my throat
Cause looking for heaven, found the devil in me
Looking for heaven, found the devil in me
Well what the hell I'm gonna let it happen to me

Shake it out, x4 ooh woaaaah
Shake it out, x4 ooh woaaaah
And it's hard to dance with a devil on your back
So shake him off, oh woah

Shake it out, x4 ooh woaaaah
Shake it out, x4 ooh woaaaah
And it's hard to dance with a devil on your back
So shake him off, oh woah

I speak from my observation, and limited experience. It can help us all if you tell us how you think the Church has paid attention to the matters discussed.

huh huh huh I'll take this as an attempt at humor.

I don't know if you're a Christian, but the way of Christianity as Jesus taught, does not rate these things as "personal" the way you have stated it to be.

This is only your assumption. I never implied such a thing.

My point in inserting the image was to illustrate suffering/social injustice and also how nature / the environment takes over (often adversely) when human beings who are the regents meant to take control have failed in their duties. But basically it was there to illustrate poverty, lack and hunger, social ills.

Whatever else you infer are misconstrued, at least going by my intentions. Thanks for contributing.
sorry I cant do those or cant be bothered doing those fanciful "individually separated quotes" and then "respond beneath each one of the quotes" bedazzle thing. you will just have to do with my block quoted lame style response. what I wrote is that on the contrary the church has not being "caring deeply about personal salvation and personal moral behaviour" talkless an expectation to explore a or its public faith. That was the core reason of asking which world had you sprung from because it is obvious the chuch has degenerated."but the way of Christianity as Jesus taught, does not rate these things as "personal" the way you have stated it to be." It is a personal thing, better believe it. Jesus said "You shall love your neighbor as yourself. There is no other commandment greater than these." if you are found wanting of truly loving yourself, how can you love the next person or empathise with others. first that is personal as it can get. second the concerned entered the world alone, will leave alone, will make account and explain self alone, privately with God. now that you have explained the picture which incidentally did not have a caption and so got subjected or susceptibled to misconceptions, i can see you mean exactly what Edmund Burke said that all that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that church good men do nothing. so for such a time as this do not sit by and do nothing for the church we have come to royal position for such a time as this. as for contributing, anything for the kingdom's sake. dont mention.

InesQor: Yes to both. What do you think of the topic?

Meanwhile that image is symbolic of many things I already described above.

The child sits there, dying while roasting in hope. And the vulture just waits patiently.
i dont know which world you resurfaced or resurrected from but which "Christians nowadays emphasize private faith in Christianity, caring deeply about personal salvation and personal moral behaviour like drinking, cursing and sexual purity" grin havent you been following the media or tabloids at all if not lately? grin listen this whole thing is convoluted. Moral? how long is a piece of string. when you were galavanting over the place, have you considered the carbon footprint you contributed to. i know you have sincere, genuine and good intentions but hey i think its all personal and at the end of the day, it will be a private thing between the concerned and God. i dont follow the correlation between what was addressed in the posting and the picture of the vulture and the kid though. Are you impying that the church nowadays have turned to preying on the vulnerable or exploiting the helpless like the vulture is about doing with the kid? The vulture isnt turning a blind eye or burying its head in sand, that seemingly is what the post is suggesting the church nowadays is doing but the vulture is waiting for that moment of complete weakness before pouncing - an opportunist.

Ubenedictus: Fosbel i read in one of you post that justice must take it full course and that means they will suffer for some time before they are distroyed. That got me thinking, what is the justice when one offends God? Justice is usually measure against the gravity of offense and the person who is offended, if i slap say italo i will be charged with assault, if i do the same to obama it will be called treason etc. So i thought what is the just punishment when one offends an infinity God, with and infinite love, infinite goodness? I can only think of one answer, if the person is not repentant mercy cant be applied so we will be having infinite justice. Eternal punishment.
whoa. wow. profound. smh
Christianity Etc › Re: Eternal Torment and a Merciful GOD - Goshen and Co, feedback needed by danwo: 5:28pm On Jul 05, 2012
Ubenedictus: Ha! This is a 200yrs old problem, you are interpreting death to mean that a soul dies the exact way jehova witness do. I present a food for thought.
When the bible talk about spiritual death or the death of the soul or the soul will perish it doesnt mean that the soul will cease to exist, it means that the soul is not in devine favour. Genesis shows the exact picture chapter 3 verse 3 shows that God threatens adam an eve with death, the truth is God didnt just say 'lest you die' in greek and hebrew bibles it is clearer he repeated the word for death he said 'lest you die die' or 'lest you die the death'. When adam ane eve ate the fruit did they just a immediate physical death the answer is no, so what death did they experience? The bible let us know it was a death in sin, a spiritual death, did their soul just cease to exist as you claim? The answer is a big NO, So what is this death of the spirit about? Verse 14 has the answer, spiritual death is a ceasation of divine favour not a ceasation of existence of the soul. When the scripture are talking of death of the soul you have to be consistent and explain it in line with scripture. Death of the soul is an absence of divine favour not a ceasation of existence.
Peace
what Ubenedictus is likely saying, briefly, is that death is a dividing line. that spiritual death is a ceasation of divine favour. the ceasation of divine favour is in effect a separation from God. a separation or withdrawal which is not necessarily a ceasation of existence of the soul. God is able to destroy body and soul though.

okidoki1075: It is important that we all at some point re-access our life. We might not all believe in “Religion” or “God”, but in the innermost part of us, we know that there is a “Creator”.

Today, after much meditation and reflection, I see everything in life as “vanity”.
Look at the plane crash that occurred in Nigeria couple of days back, that took over a 100 lives on board. Can you imagine that some people were sitting in their living rooms with their family when the plane crashed into their houses?
http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-202_162-57446242/plane-crashes-in-nigeria-all-153-aboard-dead/

I have visited hospitals and prisons around the world, and the only question I could ask myself is …Is anything really worth it in life other than “good health and freedom. Is all the risk, the hustle and bustle really worth it when we don’t know when we will die?

I just told myself that the monks are living the best life on earth. Good people die, so do bad people, and they will all leave everything they have worked for behind. My zeal for wealth is fading away day by day. I am really getting tired of hard/risky hustle. I love my family, and I can’t afford anyone to wipe over my stupidity.

I will want to live and die a happy man. When death come at an unexpected time as it always do, I will want it to meet me happy. These are the things running through my mind today, and just feel I should share it with you all.

“Good health and freedom” are the two most important aspect of life, it is better to die than to be deprived of those two things indefinitely. If it’s just malaria, you know you will be fine in one to two weeks, or if you are involved in petty police case, you know you have only a couple of days to spend behind bars. But if you are caught with drugs, fraudulent activities, robbery, and the likes, then you are looking at years behind bars, or if you are involve in a life threatening accident then you are looking at a long time on the sick bed.

My prayer to my creator today is to see me through this time of my life. I know my life is a story and it can save a life if not lives, but I wouldn’t share that today.

This is the time we all need to have a relationship with our creator. To meditate, connect and listen in spirit. My father’s two brothers died two weeks ago, couple of day’s interval between both deaths. Isn’t that a wakeup call for? Both slept and didn’t wake up. There might be different things happening around you, but you are not just attentive enough.

I know we are all going to die soon or later, even if our creator gives us a hundred years, we still wouldn’t want to die. But that is the destiny of all. To be born and to die, we have not been given a choice over that by our creator. What happens after death I am not sure, but different people have different believes. I believe that what happens after death is the legacy you leave behind. It could be a “legacy of hatred or love”.

The most important thing to me now is the legacy I leave behind. My question is this: if you were opportune to be spiritually present at your eulogy while nobody can see you, what will people say about you? My answer is: What they say about you is the legacy you have left behind.

I am really considering a whole lot of things in my life right now, and I guess you do as well.
We should live everyday like we are prepared to die, not that we pray for premature death, but we need to make sure that our household and our lives are always in order.

Who am I to judge or condemn? Look at the churches and pastors, they have turned the church into business centers, and turned human beings to money printing machines. Most started with real zeal, but money and pride as made them spiritual robbers, they are bigger thieves than armed robbers. They lure people to bring their money; building universities that can’t be afforded by the commoners; giving special chairs to rich people in church. OMG! What a wicked and disastrous world we live in. Our creator has been so patient with humans. I have lost my respect for them. Most of them now tend to justify and rationalize why they need to live luxurious lifestyles. I have only talked about the pastors because I was born into the Christendom, so please don’t hate me for that.

Our creator is patient with us all, for all have sinned and come short of his glory. Bishops, pastors and spiritual leaders are turning into gays, OMG! It is a sad world we live in. The death of those people in the plane crash hurt me so much, and all I could do was to reassess my life and inspire us all to be prepared at all time. How can we be prepared? It is very simple, just show “LOVE” to all. I am not preaching Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, or anything else. What I understand as repentance is L.O.V.E.

Look around the world my dear, political leaders killing their citizens, (can you imagine Assad of Syria) there is nothing so safe in this world again. See great men who were once mini gods on earth brought down. Mubarak of Egypt was sentenced to life; Charles Taylor dished 50 years imprisonment, which means life imprisonment for him; Saddam Hussein hung like a pig in the abattoir; Muammar Gaddafi killed like a chicken. I am moved by the happenings of the world, and I want to do nothing but “watch and pray”

I think the monks live the best life on earth. Today I am re-evaluating my foot steps in life, and I am asking my creator to put LOVE in my heart.

My eyes have seen, my ears have heard, my life has experienced, and I am a testimony. All my life has been lived by his grace (My creator).

I don’t know his name, but I know he exists. You can call him any name you like, he understands.

This is a legend about a hermit who lived long ago. He lived high up on the mountain- side in a tiny cave; his food was roots and acorns, a bit of bread given by a peasant, or a cheese brought by a woman who wanted his prayers; his work was praying, and thinking about God. For forty years he lived so, preaching to the people, praying for them, comforting them in trouble, and, most of all, worshiping in his heart. There was just one thing he cared about: it was to make his soul so pure and perfect that it could be one of the stones in God's great Temple of Heaven.

One day, after the forty years, he had a great longing to know how far along he had got with his work,--how it looked to the Heavenly Father. And he prayed that he might be shown a man--

"Whose soul in the heavenly grace had grown

To the selfsame measure as his own;

Whose treasure on the celestial shore

Could neither be less than his nor more."

As he looked up from his prayer, a white-robed angel stood in the path before him. The hermit bowed before the messenger with great gladness, for he knew that his wish was answered.

<section here missing/removed>

The angel came to him, and told him to go to a certain village on the other side of the mountain, and to a small farm in it, where two women lived. In them he should find two souls like his own, in God's sight.

When the hermit came to the door of the little farm, the two women who lived there were overjoyed to see him, for every one loved and honored his name. They put a chair for him on the cool porch, and brought food and drink. But the hermit was too eager to wait. He longed greatly to know what the souls of the two women were like, and from their looks he could see only that they were gentle and honest. One was old, and the other of middle age.

Presently he asked them about their lives. They told him the little there was to tell: they had worked hard always, in the fields with their husbands, or in the house; they had many children; they had seen hard times,--sickness, sorrow; but they had never despaired.

"But what of your good deeds," the hermit asked,--"what have you done for God?"

"Very little," they said, sadly, for they were too poor to give much. To be sure, twice every year, when they killed a sheep for food, they gave half to their poorer neighbors.

"That is very good, very faithful," the hermit said. "And is there any other good deed you have done?"

"Nothing," said the older woman, "unless, unless--it might be called a good deed--" She looked at the younger woman, who smiled back at her.

"What?" said the hermit.

Still the woman hesitated; but at last she said, timidly, "It is not much to tell, father, only this, that it is twenty years since my sister-in-law and I came to live together in the house; we have brought up our families here; and in all the twenty years there has never been a cross word between us, or a look that was less than kind."

The hermit bent his head before the two women, and gave thanks in his heart. "If my soul is as these," he said, "I am blessed indeed."

And suddenly a great light came into the hermit's mind, and he saw how many ways there are of serving God. Some serve him in churches and in hermit's cells, by praise and prayer; some poor souls who have been very wicked turn from their wickedness with sorrow, and serve him with repentance; some live faithfully and gently in humble homes, working, bringing up children, keeping kind and cheerful; some bear pain patiently, for his sake. Endless, endless ways there are, that only the Heavenly Father sees.

And so, as the hermit climbed the mountain again, he thought,--

"As he saw the star-like glow

Of light, in the cottage windows far,

How many God's hidden servants are!"

john 14 15 If you love me, you will obey what I command.

john 14 vs 23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words:

john 15 vs 10 f you obey my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have obeyed my Father's commands and remain in his love.

1 john 5 vs 3 For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome.
you know what i meant. Love is God a derivative from God is love. but bro. two can play this game.

1 john 4 vs 8 Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.

now if you read the KJV, which was put together when there were still black men ruling europe ( king james was a black man ), they didnt have the chance to change the color of the jews because that edition had already been sold. however after they kicked all the black men out of europe and started making newer editions, the color of the jews changed from black to something else.

buzugee: was God speaking to the people who killed the jews ? nope they were coming out of their own satanic minds. you have to remember that the descendants of esau and the descendants of jacob are made to oppose each other and keep each other in check. black vs white. SIRACH 33 VS 15 look upon all the works of the lord they are pairs and one against the other. this is how the lord made it. this is why black and white people will never get along. they are jacob and esau. however during this period of the middle ages, black men ruled all over europe. the black men were the jews who ruled europe (the bryzantine empire )during the middle ages. thats where most of the name of european countries came from
scottish means black man in hebrew
england means land of angels ( the angels are the jews )
british means convenant man ( the men of the convenant are the black hebrews. psalms 147 vs 19 and 20 )

this era preceded the european rennaisance, however the bubonic plague and black death weakened the bryzantine empire. was this an act of God ? yes. the black rulers had become extremely wicked and since they were supposed to be under penance ( romans 11 vs 11 ) and yet were not conforming to the laws statutes and commandments. the lord brought the plague, which weakened their empire and then the europeans killed off or chased off or enslaved whats left of the jews. these were the first crop off black slaves to the newly discovered land of the americas. ( yup the first crop of blacks slaves were from europe not africa )

so basically as an israelite ( black ) if you are not following the laws statutes and commandments ? the lords protection is removed from you and then your natural opposing enemy moves in for the kill. black vs white
buzugee whilst not looking did someone drop some skepke in your drink? england means land of angels shocked shocked shocked I thought england means land of angles or as we jokingly said when young england means people busy binding sticks up. Weren't the angles of German descent ?
God knew that the world leaders had a law and their
law was contrary to the message God intended sending
to them, God knew that whoever bears this message to them
will become an enemy as the message was strongly against
their laws. Take for example someone is looking for somebody
to go and tell the people of america that they have a corrupt
government and they must repent and change their ways, what do you think
will happen to that person on getting there? jesus issue was much more
complicated than this. Christian call it sacrifice because it was a suicide
mission knowing very well that the laws of the lands were against the message
he was to bear.

God did not need any blood to be spilled for the sake of the world, the blood
was anyone who was willing to bring that message to the world being willing to
bear the consequence of preaching against the laws of the land.

Jesus is called a saviour because he was willing to bring that message despite
the penalty, he preached and make known the heart of God that we may hear the
truth. He was killed not to spill his blood for sacrifice as people demand to know
why God would do that
, he was killed because that message which God wanted a human
to bring to humanity attracted death penalty in the land of the jews.

I asked God to explain to me why he will kill his son to save the world and this
is what was revealed to me.

many more contributions are welcome.
The bible states that "In fact, under the law almost everything is cleansed with blood, and without the shedding of the blood there is no forgiveness"
