^^^ Like you said sir, she won't have to worry about the rigours of breeding. Thats why i said a male GSD and male dogs generally by nature tend to be more protective than females. But male rottweilers can be over-protective and can hurt kids if not monitored. Thats my reason for d diff sexes. #my opinion |

GeneralShepherd: The bone of contention here is that you claimed to have pedigree pups for #30k the picture I asked for are for the parents of the pedigree.
Also I never said its only slant backs that are pedigree gsds, I have owned straight back pedigree gsds. You are pulling a straw-man here
I'll repeat it here again no pedigree gsd pup will go for less than 120k,unless the breeder na ur babe or something.
That 30k pup is probably a mutt, but convince me with a picture simple I never said pedigree german shepherd costs #30,000. My argument was that I've got where FULL BREED GSD costs #30,000. The person asked how much he can get a full breed GSD and i told him the price range. And if I may ask, is it only pedigree dogs that are full breed? |

cluewebhost: I'm Thinking of Getting a Dog, security reasons mostly, I'm a first time owner and I have children (my nieces and nephews) who come visiting periodically. What sort of breed do you suggest? and Where's the best place to Buy from? Also for a well fed, well taken care of Dog, what do I budget monthly for feeding, vets, etc? I'll advice you go for a male German shepherd/alsatian or a female rottweiler. As a first time dog owner, do researchs on whichever of the breeds u want to know the dog's behaviour very well. As for taking care of the dog...it depends on what you want to feed the dog. Dry feeds/kibble can cost #10,000 per bag and you might also want to add can foods. In a month feeding+vet care should not be more than #30,000 |

GeneralShepherd: People reserve the right to sell their pups at whatever price dey deem fit, but not every dog that is big and with black mouth is a gsd. Those dogs there have full akc pink papers with their pedigree registration, so Please kindly upload the pictures of the parents let us compare the dogs and I'll show you the difference. Cheers.
Here in Lagos, I know a guy that sells rottweilers for 200k in festac. 21 rd D close house 16 and if you see dem no be person go tell you. There are breed standard and those gsds are perfect breed standards.
N:B you can cross a gsd with a mastiff and it will grow bigger and still look like a gsd, does that make it a pure gsd?!! Also did you notice the slant back? Like i said, I can give you the contact. I don't own the dogs and i don't have their pictures. About a rottweiler been sold for 200k, there'll be people who'll buy them, but as for me I can get a rott of the same quality at a lower price. My neighbour has a rott thats just 9 months old and if you see the dog...[i'll get the pic soon]. Telling me that not all big dogs are GSDs...I recognise a full breed when I see them sir. If you cross a GSD with a mastiff, do you think it'll still look like a GSD? NO! so don't think I mistake any big dog for a GSD And about the slant back[roach back], its not a slant back that makes a full breed GSD. Straight back GSDs are also full breeds[not all tho]. In fact, straight back GSDs are more healthy than the slant backs cos slant back GSDs are more prone to hip displaysia. Feel free to google straight back GSDs and roach back[slant back] GSDs if you don't beleive me sir |

GeneralShepherd: Let me show you what a pure breed gsd looks like in Naija and nobody will sell it @45k those dogs are mutt.
Well this female is expecting. I've seen GSDs bigger than this and d puppy cost just #30,000. If ure doubting me, I can give u d contacts here in Ibadan. GSD puppy for #120,000??! Wow |

Ehimenboy: i knew there were geniuses in the house. Thanks to y'all.
....and for those scared 2nd choice candidates, ui will definitely admit you if you meet the cut off. Simply see this: the post jamb result was not released untill the second choice candidates did their exam which implies to me they are considering all the scores at once. And again scince the second choice candidates were not given fall back courses nor change of course opportunity then they might ONLY be considering those that met their course cutoff.#just thinking so o# Wow! Didn't know second choice candidates.did their exam separately |

oluafolabi: I think it's high time I dropped my congratulations too. I'm very happy for you guys . You have worked so hard for it and I'm glad your dreams are gradually becoming a reality.
Now, to the peeps that wish to study medical related courses and couldn't make the cut off, I'm so sorry for that, but sometimes good things don't come easy and you have to strive harder to get them. It doesn't mean you have failed, it only means you have gained experience. You now know how to prepare harder for next year.
These are some options I would advise. 1) Apply to predegree programmes, I would personally advise OAU's predegree. They would expand your knowledge horizon in such a way that it would help you prepare for both Jamb next year and OAU's pume itself.
2) Apply to cambridge A level programmes, I have friends here that it has worked for. Cambridge A levels is tough notwithstanding but it is not impossible. Do not do IJMB, its opportunities are very limited. With cambridge A levels, you would gain more knowledge that would enable you prepare for Jamb, and if the A level clicks, you can apply to any institution in Nigeria directly to 200 lvl. I have some very smart friends that did it, so if you believe in yourself, you can try it out too.
3)If you won't do any of the listed above, and you are really interested in MBBS/BDS, then choose 'Chemistry' only as a fallback course. Because chemistry is the ONLY course in the faculty of science that permits crossing to College of Medicine. And please note, the moment you decide to accept UI's admission, you CANNOT write jamb again and apply to UI cos UI doesn't allow double matriculation.
Finally(Sorry for my long epistle) , I congratulate Dapsondou, Quivah ,Hesjay, Ambfitsaint, Afobam and other MBBS/BDS peeps I don't know. Cheers! Thanks boss |
