Of course every celestial body floats...Even the earth flows in its orbit or do you see a pillar holding it...this is not a contradiction but a scientific miracle that couldn't have been know without rockets....Every celestial body floats...u should read articles on the GALAXIES

Before I do that I want to ask my friend mac blue a question....He knows there should be moral as I have read in his previous threads but religion shouldn't be a way to enforce morality on people...I loved that quote...but when if science claims that all creation happened by chance and nobody fashioned it,it discredits science but not religion...Last year...a whole bunch of animals were discovered(fishes and birds) and the americans started giving them names....At this point I thought WALLAHI,there's a creator,there are thousands of animal science has not even seen,yet they are around us. LYING AND MOVEMENT.
8.  Lying and Movement

There was a cruel oppressive tribal leader named Abu Jahl who lived during the time of Prophet Muhammad, may the mercy and blessings of God be upon him.  God revealed a verse of the Quran to warn him:

“No Indeed! If he does not stop, We will seize him by the forehead, his lying, sinful forehead.” (Quran 96:15-16)

God does not call this person a liar, but calls his forehead (the front part of the brain) ‘lying’ and ‘sinful’, and warns him to stop.

This verse is significant for two reasons.  The first is that the front part of our brain is responsible for voluntary movement[10].This is known as the frontal lobe.  A book titled ‘Essentials of Anatomy and Physiology’ which includes the results of research on the functions of this area states: The motivation and the foresight to plan and initiate movements occur in the anterior portion of the frontal lobes, the prefrontal area[11].  The part of the brain that is responsible for movement is said to be seized if the man does not stop.

Secondly, numerous studies have shown that this same region (frontal lobe) is responsible for the lying function of the brain[12].  One such study at the University of Pennsylvania in which volunteers were asked questions during a computerized interrogation, it was found that when the volunteers were lying there was significantly increased activity in the prefrontal and premotor cortices (frontal lobe region)

IRON. Iron is not natural to the earth.  It did not form on the earth but came down to earth from outer space.  This may sound strange but it’s true.  Scientists have found that billions of years ago the earth was stuck by meteorites.  These meteorites were carrying Iron from distant stars which had exploded[4].

The Quran says the following on the origin of Iron:

“We sent down Iron with its great inherent strength and its many benefits for humankind.” (Quran 57:25)

God uses the words ‘sent down’ for Iron.  It is clear from the verse that Iron is not an earthly material, but was sent down for the benefit of humanity.  The fact that Iron came down to earth from outer space is something which could not be known by the primitive science of the 7th century

PAIN RECEPTORS. For a long time it was thought that the sense of feeling and pain was dependent on the brain.  However it has been discovered that there are pain receptors present in the skin[14].  Without these pain receptors, a person would not be able to feel pain.

Consider the following verse on pain:

“We shall send those who reject Our revelations to the (Hell) Fire.  When their skins have been burned away, We shall replace them with new ones so that they may continue to feel the pain: God is Almighty, All-Wise.” (Quran 4:56)

God tells the people who reject his message that when they are in Hell and their skins are burnt off (so they can’t feel any pain), he will give them new skins so that they continue to feel the pain.

The Quran makes it clear that pain is dependent upon on the skin.  The discovery of pain receptors in the skin is a fairly recent discovery for Biology. A man(atheist) came with the claim,"I don't believe in religions because the concept of hell does not reveal to him,he said after a burn.I wouldn't feel any more pain.....this verse was shown to him and Inshaallah He accepted Islam.

SUN'S ORBIT. In 1512 the astronomer Nicholas Copernicus put forward his theory that the Sun is motionless at the centre of the solar system, and that the planets revolve around it.  The belief that the Sun is stationary was widespread amongst astronomers until the 20th century.  It is now a well-established scientific fact that the Sun is not stationary, but is moving in an orbit around the centre of our Milky Way galaxy[7].

The Quran mentions the orbit of the Sun:

“It is He who created night and day, the Sun and the Moon, each floating in its orbit.” (Quran 21:33)

The Quran would have been wrong according to astronomers just a couple of decades ago.  But we now know that the Quranic account of the Sun’s motion is consistent with modern Astronomy.

THE EXPANSION OF THE UNIVERSE AND THE BIG BANG. At a time when the science of Astronomy was still primitive, the expansion of the universe was described in Quran:

“And it is We who have built the Universe with [Our creative] power and keep expanding it.” (Quran 51:47)

The fact that the universe is expanding was discovered in the last century.  The physicist Stephen Hawking in his book ‘A Brief History of Time’ writes, “The discovery that the universe is expanding was one of the great intellectual revolutions of the 20th century.”.

The Quran mentioned the expansion of the universe even before the invention of the telescope!

MOUNTAINS The Quran draws our attention to a very important characteristic of mountains:

“Did We not make the earth a resting place? And the mountains as stakes?” (Quran 78:6-7)

The Quran indicates that mountains have deep roots by using the word stakes to describe them.  In fact mountains do have deep roots, and the word stakes is an accurate description for them.  A book titled ‘Earth’ by Geophysicist Frank Press explains that mountains are like stakes, and are buried deep under the surface of the earth. Mount Everest (pictured below), the height of which is approximately 9 km above ground, has a root deeper than 125 km.

The fact that mountains have deep ‘stake’ like roots was not known, until after the development of the theory of plate tectonics in the beginning of the 20th century.

SKY'S PROTECTION The sky plays a crucial role in protecting the earth.  The sky protects the earth from the lethal rays of the sun.  If the sky did not exist then the sun’s radiation would have killed off all life on earth.  It also acts like a blanket wrapped around the earth, to protect it from the freezing cold of space.  The temperature just above the sky is approximately -270oC.  If this temperature was to reach earth then the planet would freeze over instantly.  The sky also protects life on earth by warming the surface through heat retention (greenhouse effect), and reducing temperature extremes between day and night[5].  These are some of the many protective functions of the sky.

The Quran asks us to consider the sky in the following verse:

“We made the sky a protective ceiling.  And yet they are turning away from Our signs!” (Quran 21:32)

The Quran points to the sky’s protection as a sign of God.  The protective properties of the sky were discovered by scientific research conducted in the 20th century.

ORIGIN OF LIFE. Water is essential for all living things.  We all know that water is vital to life but the Quran makes a very unusual claim:

We made every living thing from water? Will they not believe? (Quran 21:30)

In this verse water is pointed out as the origin of all life.  All living things are made of cells.  We now know that cells are mostly made up of water.  For example, 80% of the cytoplasm (basic cell material) of a standard animal cell is described as water in biology textbooks.

The fact that living things consist mostly of water was discovered only after the invention of the microscope.  In the deserts of Arabia, the last thing someone would have guessed is that all life came from water.

THE QUR'AN ON OCEANS AND SEAS . Modern Science has discovered that in the places where two different seas meet, there is a barrier between them.  This barrier divides the two seas so that each sea has its own temperature, salinity, and density.[1]  For example, Mediterranean sea water is warm, saline, and less dense, compared to Atlantic ocean water.  When Mediterranean sea water enters the Atlantic over the Gibraltar sill, it moves several hundred kilometers into the Atlantic at a depth of about 1000 meters with its own warm, saline, and less dense characteristics. Although there are large waves, strong currents, and tides in these seas, they do not mix or transgress this barrier. The qur'an had stated this over 1400years ago “He has set free the two seas meeting together.  There is a barrier between them.  They do not transgress.” (Quran 55:19-20) And When Allah spoke about the sea(Fresh and Salt Water) But when the Quran speaks about the divider between fresh and salt water, it mentions the existence of “a forbidding partition” with the barrier.  God has said in the Quran:

“He is the one who has set free the two kinds of water, one sweet and palatable, and the other salty and bitter.  And He has made between them a barrier and a forbidding partition.” (Quran 25:53). And science just added not long ago,the HALOCLINE to most school curicullum which had been revealed 1400+yrs ago......Allahu Akbar

QUR'AN ON THE DEEP SEA & INTERNAL WAVES. “Or (the unbelievers’ state) is like the darkness in a deep sea.  It is covered by waves, above which are waves, above which are clouds.  Darknesses, one above another.  If a man stretches out his hand, he cannot see it....” (Quran 24:40). GThis verse mentions the darkness found in deep seas and oceans, where if a man stretches out his hand, he cannot see it.  The darkness in deep seas and oceans is found around a depth of 200 meters and below.  At this depth, there is almost no light (see figure 1).  Below a depth of 1000 meters there is no light at all.[1]  Human beings are not able to dive more than forty meters without the aid of submarines or special equipment.  Human beings cannot survive unaided in the deep dark part of the oceans, such as at a depth of 200 metersod has said in the Quran: and it is seen that Waves are formed on every layer in the deep dark sea....Google about the Sea to confirm this.....I started with this

Please just start..1 thing u should know though is that u read the qur'an,u read the tafsir with it....unlike most world relligion...u can't just pick a verse in the qur'an and start reading...there's tafsir for it...So if ur speaking against the tafsir...then I wouldn't even reply....so I need ur claims now

I fear for u d punishment of hell fire,that u leave all the messangers god had sent and believe in only jesus...u'll know this author is confused now once I ask him that was jesus sent by God...he'd say yes(he already did in his speech) then if I ask 'is jesus God? Sunglow: yes!cos it was only Jesus Christ that God sent into the world to atone for the sins of the world.and until you accept that work of salvation which God wrought for us in Christ,for the rejection of such glorious gift will land a man in hell.cos he refused to accept what could have saved him.

The same way u can make a thousand story out of a statement is the say way people made stories out of jesus's word...some say he's a messanger,somesay he's a prophet,son,the three combined,God,and all.....but where can we find truth in something that has so much controversy....its going back to the original speaker if their words still exist and we should all be attentive and find truth in them.God bless

Christians....Why are u so lost!!!...u read abook that tells u,nobody can see god,that god doesn't sleep,that god is not to be tempted by the devil,that god is this and that....and u look @ all the quoted speech of Jesus and he was reffering to himself as a messanger(sent) but u pple....why? I swear if there was this much controversy on who's God and who isn't in Islam...I wouldn't even think twice but I see all of you as good pple with very confused minds,If I start stating stuff,I have stated some earlier but mr peter came with another verse,then I ask him,what abou the verse I quoted from ur scripture,Is that 1 wrong...he couldn't reply.I'd love to meet pple who seek truth,not pple who know in their minds that there's a fault in what they say,yet they proclaim.God Bless!!!

Please Muslim brother.What we are doing here is good but don't let us do it in a wrong way...Al Qur'an say 'and argue with them with beautiful lectures' not abuses and curse...Infact u've not listed anything.I'll show u where the bible accused almost all the prophets in the scripture of one thing or the other,more contradiction,blasphem on God and 1 can keep on going till dawn but that doesn't change the Command of Allah.One might say something and become a slave to his words 1.Allah says in the Glorious Qur'an that you should not discriminate between the revelations he had sent before the qur'an...although we know quite well that the gospel(injeel) is not what pple read 2day but nevertheless,don't let us discriminate 2. These kind of thread should have stated its purpose so that Xtians won't think ill of muslims 3.There are somethings that are not contradictions,what if u say they are and some1 brings a passage in the Qur'an and u find it like that,what would u say...e.g..if God says he's something in a place and he's Another in another place(like the warlike and peaceful) its a cceptable,God is merciful and he punishes severely those that do not heed his call. I'm happy though but I hope our christian brothers will take this with a open mind and believe in the God of all prophets(Allah),Xtians get scared with the name Allah but it means Al-ilah(the-God) but its better to call it in arabic(because in arabic,it cannot be subjected to plurality).U see all these things u c in the bible does not amaze me,the bible contains the word of God,people,eyewitnesses,people who stories were related to,and there's bound to be contradiction 2.Jesus never spoke english,greek,italian...he spoke aramaic...but there's not a copy of an aramaic bible so there's bound to be...the moment every christian starts reading the bible in aramaic/hebrew, u'll be amazed at the number of times muhammad was mentioned by name in the scripture but the englishmen have made u slaves of their language.that's why it is said in Zephaniah 5:3 that 'We shall appoint for men a pure language,that they may call upon the name of the Lord' but u do not ponder....No matter how much we say,Its for man to say but for god to guide...I wish u d best
