Secondly, my school do not give out invitations. Like the VO succinctly describe that I do not even need n invitation letter. That was exactly what I wanted to confirm.

I hear you oooo .... na u first graduate that u must be spoon fed . Even if u write an invitation letter it cannot be a negative . Majorities of the document people take for visa are never looked at but they take them anyway . In most cases they dont even ask for any document self

- Get a letter from your department verifying you are graduating
- Make copies of your I-20 form, I-94 form and visa page from your passport.
- if you are on assistantship, get a letter from the department stating that you are supported by the department.
- Write an invitation letter
- You or your parents bank statement
- Optional – proof of address

If I understood his question, now that he has a full tuition scholarship. He shouldn't have problem regarding finances as the value of the scholarship would be indicated on his i20.

Scholarships doesn't guarantee Visa and neither does paying your tuition fees . There have been cases of rejection in both cases

Who refused you 4 times. The embassy or the school. When were you refused . What the intervals and how long ago .
How old are since its Sat undergrad or more importantly when did u leave high school till now
Is the school ranked ok and what degree

Best to go through frequently asked questions here do a transcript and share with some people (offline ) and hopefully u get some good feedback

Most of the top Universities in the US are Private Universities
MIT, Harvard, Stanford, Yale , Princeton, Howard, Columbia , CalTech University, U Penn , Emory to mention a few

They are recognized world wide and Lets pick one on the list Harvard - will VO approve visa for admitted students into the Graduate Program of such private university. ..... Ofcourse YES

You not only need to take both test , you must importantly have to study extremely hard and GET a high score. That is the only way to make up for a low GPA.

Did you take any test and if yes how were they ...... Most schools say 3.0 but if you have a great GRE , then there can be light at the tunnel .

There a post in the past about passport validity on this thread . What you need is from the time you plan to enter the US or go for Visa interview you need at least 6months on your passport , mainly at the POE in the US

Once you enter the US after your 20 (18 + 2) months or from 6months to actual expiration just look for the nearest Nigerian Embassy and renew your Nigerian Passport . There is one in washington DC, NewYork and Atlanta

While the school ranking is vital for your plan post F1 visa days , for the purposes of student visa , it really down to how you sell yourself and how you present yourself to the VO as been a "Credible" student in less than 2 minute inteview.

Someone had an interview this week with one of the schools , so you can check with that person. If you like extremely cold weather then you are picking the right schools

For more accurate information, best to go and check the ranking on google for the exact degree you are applying for

Cos someone told me today that not landing directly @d state u r going to might probe much question by Immigration officers.

It can cause red flags if your final destination is not your school , NOT if you are not landing directly

If you are a legitimate student going to resume school , it would be expected that your itinerary should show ur final destination to be your school city .... If you are flying into another state first (no problem) and then connecting by local flight or bus then have your ticket or evidence with you .


If you are visiting someone before you resume school then you should have a valid reason and explanation ......And also be ready to be asked to show evidence of a ticket after your short visit (blc school suppose resume max 30 days to ur arrival) .

Think about it someone is entering america to school in Seattle but has only ticket to Newyork . That cant be right as those two cities are miles apart and doesn't make sense . Doesnt that mean the person has no intention of resuming school in Seattle ? .......hence the red bells start ringing and investigation starts

You know 2 years does not mean you can visit and stay for 2 years or relocate with that visa. The maximum stay at a time is 6 months .... also since you already be given the b1/b2 she can replicate the process you used and u should be able to assist her since u gone through the process before

Hummm sorry to read this. Both test scores are quite low especially the toefl. Cant really give you much feedback, it would have been better if at least one test score was higher but then again another VO would not have asked for your test scores ......it is possible notes have been written on your file that low test scores so might be best to re take gre

Its always best to have enough money if not the venture of having money issues abroad is no joke oooo (u will enter depression fast with little support system, even the worry when u then become out of status ) .

What school did you get admission into ??.

Each school differ, some have many opportunities for on-campus job and some you dont see at all. Also some programs have opportunities for GA after one year or some NEVER , the school dont give on kobo in financial aid to international student ........ DO some more research into what opportunities for international student the school has

Also when choosing a school think about life after f1 visa ........ If it is MBA , better go to a well ranked program or else you wont see a good job (no company will file H1b for just any MBA ). I know some will say but we all plan to come home but its good to gain some work experience
