plauses:That i assure you was not said by a VO.... Never, that pepper and salt added |
plauses:No i definitely don't agree with that... in the US the dress code for MBA Is very corporate In may my family who went wore a very sharp suit was given and only asked why the sxhool |
aadeyi:Na wa ooo... why person go prank this kind thing JOBLESS MUCH ....... and also clogging up the thread ![]() |
MrAmberson:just go through the transcripts on the various parts here and develop some response (u be fine if u sell urself well ) and dress smartly. Give them some nice suit |
MrAmberson:In your case, You dont need all that for Yale , to get admission is not beans so the VO knows you have crossed all those T and I........If your test score is mentioned just say exactly what you typed now . what you need to do is sell yourself well . Talk briefly about you work experience, your transition to do an MBA and how you want to strengthen that MBA with this masters. . .......See below a powerful statement i saw on their website . Common that all you need . Take that statement and make it into one powerful sentence and make it your own so you dont sound like a textboook . That all the selling point you need Master of Advanced Management Join a group of emerging leaders from all corners of the globe for intensive study, exchange, and professional development.. The MAM is a one-year degree program at Yale School of Management for exceptional MBA graduates from Global Network for Advanced Management schools who aspire to become global leaders for business and society. when you start the school, make sure you attend the next National Black MBA conference and go get yourself a good internship. MUST attend oo |
MrAmberson:Yale is a very good school , however it is good if you have work experience and a solid plan regarding your future plan and path and you need to demonstrate that in the interview . 2005 rejection would not be a problem but You need to be able to sell yourself well, sell your journey and what the future holds for you if given . You definitely would be asked what have you been doing since and you need something substantial . Why that school is an easy answer if you prepare well because the name of the school sells itself |
Princessiyaye1:Having no Test scores can work against you . To be a strong applicant you need GRE for masters ..... Also think about more substantial reasons why you picked that school and what the school can do for you . That previous answer is not very good . Stay away from one line response . Talk in breathe what the school can do for you and apply it to back to for the good of Nigeria |
NairaSea23:I am not really sure because i havent filled both in years. However i did sponsor a family member last month and i am very sure he asked me for my full address details for the ds160 form. Address yes but i am not sure if my telephone was included. I wasnt asked for that blc he had it anyway and just asked for my full house address I think the house or those who have applied can answer what sponsor details is put on the ds 160 |
NairaSea23:Sponsor details are on the form although dickoflife strikes me like a story teller ![]() |
zimplicity: LagosNIV:The VO on NL has answered to a similar situation |
dickoflife:If them dey gay unko. ..... wetin this statement mean. homophobia ?? |
lazywriter:I dont know why a lot of people do this....instead of them to say them no know , instead they give you wrong direction. ... me i try not to ask these days because even when i ask and u tell me i no dey believe. I been given wrong direction so many times. @lazywriter Enjoy your stay and all the best |
simayanki4real:Saying you choose a school because their acceptance rate is high.. That doesnt sound like a good reason to have said. In most cases the lower the acceptance rate d better the school is . Not the other way round . Let him go apply to a better school... MBA IS very competitive in the job market in the us so F1 is just one step. U always have to think about plan or life after F1.... if u go to a rubbish school for MBA u sure will not get a job offer letter . MBA is all about the school you attended and its network .let him try Howard University. He must not be in Texas. Blc even an answer like he always wanted to school in texas . Not good response either |
Olabimpesparkle:This is common so i am sure the VO is not seeing this for the first time. If u are very worried have d graduate coordinator send you something in writing (an explanation ) and u print it off and take it to the interview. ... however some schools have 36 months even though the program is 24months. I am very sure its not a problem on ur end . U are not the one who put the 36 on the i20 so why is it ur job to explain it. Ur own is to explain why u picked that school and your long term goals after it. On your ds 160 put date to correspond with your i20 . ....it wont even matter much because master visa is 2 years anyway so the visa stamp wont be 3 years or 36 months anyways . If your course work not completed before the F1 2 years visa end date, you can still continue attending school and continue course work. You don’t need visa renewal or visa stamping as long as you maintain Full time student status at the university. If you still worried then call the embassy . |
Rheenah:I pondered how that is possible then i went to Wikipedia and saw they have an enrollment of like 300 student size. .... congrats although never heard of the school . Just take a bank statement with you to show you can covers maintenance fee(if accommodation is not covered ) and have the i20 corrected . Make sure the i20 specify that is tuition is covered |
gentledoj:Some kind questions sha ......... Are you sure you are ready to go abroad and face the world out there ![]() If you cant figure out the very basic then wahala dey ooo |
Walspring:You are so right , just anything is possible... During my time , there was a potential student in my school who was denied entry at the POE . the officer said his first degree was fake , not sure how the officer decided that . Maybe the POE is familiar with the school system in that county I happened to be in international office that day and heard the student assistance talking about it. The student was from India and kept calling every second to see what could be done. Not sure how it was resolved but i know for a fact that person was denied entry even with f1visa stamp |
CProf:Showoff ke... this has nothing to do with showoff This is about been smart and making decisions that are best for you without shouting ontop of the roof . Dont put your life and details out there. It adds no value . You still have many huddles in life to cross , you never even cross f1visa. The public wont be there to hold your hands in all huddles. Put on your hustle hat and swim to the end. People with poorer background fight to d end . Asking for help is not bad but this post is just too much with all ur info out there I still owe you $100 travel money but be wiser as you grow up and learn . First lesson limit what you put out there |
CProf:I am not sure how wise it is to do a whole post about this when its really obvious on the better choice . And then in followup comments you putting details about yourself . If you have put this in the student visa section PART 9 just as a question then that one thing , but to make a whole post about your situation ![]() If you are intelligent enough to get these offer you should be smart enough to make decisions that would benefit YOU without seeking validation from the Public........ Not a very smart decision at all . If there was no internet would you not have the sense to make good decisions .... Be smart and careful what you put out there . Common sense is more than been book smart |
tayhur009:Congrats and all the best |
LagosNIV:So there you go to the original person who posted. @Sorbitalll Here is with an example of reason for denial .... this is from a Lagos NIV VO (a good insider info ) so there you have it. I have always said you need to be accurate and consistent because you never know when what you thought was little non issue or white lie pops up to become a problem. Your friend can go for another interview but whatever is the problem is not going away easily and might be hard to correct. All the best to him |
CProf:Na wa ooo. Naija getting worse and your are there asking questions instead of getting the hell out Anyway when you get your visa send me a direct mail with proof and then i send you $100 travel money . All the best |
youngmoney416:The visa will still have the old school but it doesnt make a difference. Your current status really is reflected on your SEVIS and the number is listed on your i20 and that d document that is key. So keep it well Regarding what happens if you leave America for holiday. You can re enter back with no problem using the old visa stamp that has the old school's name on it as long as the visa stamp is not expired (typically 2 years for masters ) , you are still in status and the student has a new I-20 with him or her and other supporting documentation. |
Sorbitalll:WOW , even with a FULL GA and a successful approval . I guess that why some people are hesitant to post their transcript . You never know which NIV VO is lurking around . Although I dont know the reason for denial so till then the reason for denial is speculation . Or was the GA offer not stated on the i20 document ? but a missing information is different from rejecting based on to ties . if it was me, if after a week or two i get no response via email , I would book another interview and go find out what the issue is or re present myself for another interview . |
dickoflife:Most people are here to learn from each other and it is vital that only accurate information is given at all time......... This person fit go to interview or won enter america and quote 3months rule only to be denied entry so who your ADVICE CON EPP !!!!!! . My brother if you must give out advice, however little , abeg it should be accurate ......... |
zollar4life:A quick trip to google will provide some basic answer ![]() A prospective F or M student with a country of citizenship or country of birth Nigeria must pay by ONLY ONE OF THESE THREE METHODS. 1, money order, 2. Western Union Quick Pay or 3. certified check drawn from a U.S. bank. For Nigeria THERE IS NO OPTION FOR CREDIT CARD PAYMENT |
irshadmuaz:Yes you can transfer after getting the visa to another school . The process usually is that you notify the current school's international office of your intention to transfer. The current school adviser will then have to transfer your SEVIS record to the New School with a transfer out date given. Until that transfer is done then new school cannot issue you a new I-20 (F-1 status). You would be expected to fill out a new i-20 request form in the new school and once transfer is done and you get the new i20 then off you go . The key to transfer is that your current school should release your SEVIS to the new school…If they don’t for whatever reason then hummmm you have a problem . If they do then it is not complicated process |
irshadmuaz:Police report: no but its expected that you should not be a criminal or ex con ![]() Medical report :NO However most schools would expect your immunization history and if any is missing then you are expected to take them either before you arrive or within your first month of arrival |
dellapi2:Congrats on your visa . I know someone who just started in that school incase you need link up for accommodation. |
dickoflife:I never commented about 6 months validity at POE or Interview . ..... What i corrected was your statement "If you are asked just explain that you cannot renew your passport now till 3 months before it expires" .... That incorrect information You can get a new Nigerian passport from 6 months to expiration |
dickoflife:You can renew 6 months before it expires.... at least that what i did last year |

. Not good response either
