Palale in hausa means Rock that is very hard to break. Ask the hausa well diggers what it is and they will confirm to you what I said. Youre right, I am not strictly a hausa but babarbare (kanuri) but since we were born in Lokoja we grew up speaking hausa.

uote author=MetaPhysical post=78058011]

You are a bloody fake!

The Hausas in Lokoja were chased out of their enclaves in North during Jihad. They escaped and settled South, some were exiled by new Fulani rulers. They were given comfort and abode by the Oworos.

There is an Olu of Iworo and is the ruler over indigenes. Maigari only rules the settler quarters.

Dutse is Hausa for rock. I suspect you are not Yoruba, not Hausa, not Nupe, not even a resident of Lokoja but you are a third interest trying to subdue truth with fake and false info.
why do kanuri people not like speaking their language, even in bornu and yobe where you constitute an overwhelming majority?

Nowenuse:
These stats are very unreliable and useless.

Imagine Alago people being more than Bura people. Alago that do not even have a single LGA in Nasarawa state that they make up the overwhelming majority of the population being compared to Buras that dominate 3 LGAs entirely without another tribe and are significant minorities in like 3 other LGAs.

In the 1st census of Northern Nigeria around 1910, Beroms had the largest population besides Kanuris, Benue & Kogi tribes and Gbagyis.

Gbagyis outnumbered Nupes, Idomas & Igalas in the 1910 census but see where they are on that list. These things are highly inconsistent abeg.

You know this list is useless with the Edo numbers. That numbers for Edo, is it for the whole Edo state or for only Benin people?

If it is for the whole Edo state, how on Earth can Tivs, Ijaws & even Ibibios outnumber all Edo state indigenes combined?

If it is for only BINI people, then why are Esan & Afemai people not on the list? It's not possible for Esan people to be too small to make the list while the likes of Isoko & Chamba make the list.

As for Igalas. Okpoto & Ogugu people were sometimes not counted into Igala population. Especially Ogugu. They used to be counted as a separate ethnic group.
Also, Igala speakers in the SE & SS are not counted into Igala population.
Where are bura people from?

It seems you are right, annang shouldn't outnumber urhobo people. What is a truly truly realistic number for berom in her estimation, recently met with someone online from plateau who claimed to be berom, The giant of the state

Maybe you should do something ethnic minorities or northern tribes one of these days

I'll have to ask my dad about the other communities when i get to speak to him.
My people are more proud of their Ijaw roots than their urhobo origin. For a certainty, it has helped them politically and otherwise. Infact, most people now give their children Ijaw names. In my house, i and my dad are the only ones with Urhobo names because we are part of the old generation. All my younger brothers bear ijaw names and this applies to most families.
Urhobo is considered as just a lingual franca in the community because even the traditional ruler bears Amanaowie which is Ijaw.
You cant blame us any less for this decisions as Ofoni is a true ijaw community by virtue of the fact that they are sons of TARAKIRI. Other villages who are sons of Tarakiri also know this and accepts Ofoni as their own.
Presently the incumbent deputy governor of Bayelsa state is a son of Tarakiri from Ofoni.

Aside Ofoni, what other Urhobo/Isoko towns do we have in your LGA? what do you think about the perception of your people towards the Urhobo nation, are they proud of their Urhobo root?
There are 6 isoko villages in bayelsa and 1 urhobo village. At least we outnumber you people in somewhere grin grin

An interesting observation for you.

https://c1.staticflickr.com/3/2905/33730601526_ec4e902275_b.jpg

The Edos were estimated to be 955,000 at the time or 1.7% of the country. By 2006 census, the Edo population had reached 3.218 million. A 3.37 fold Increase. Their 2016 population was estimated to be 4,235,595 or a 4.435 fold increase.

If I consider the Edos and Eastern Yorubas as people of similar culture and outwork towards life generally and extrapolate the figures to the Yorubas (Note that the Western Yoruba groups might have higher birth rates, given the more pronounced presence of Islam etc)

The Yoruba who were 11.320 Million then would have been at LEAST (using the ondo/edo ballpark figure) 38.148 Million in 2006. and 50.20 Million in 2016.

Not surprising to me at all.
I never knew urhobos were more than igalas. And ogonis more than isoko people. I have never met an ogoni fellow before.
@Nowenuse that means berom are actually not that large @ all

Assuming the stats are credible

can't you see the midwest there clearly? DO I need to teach you history, or don't you know that was the region created exclusively for the minorities of the old west (Western Ijaws, Itsekiris, Urhobos, Binis, Afemais, Western Ibo, Isokos) ?

Nigeria sef na funny state, they removed 4% from the western population to create an antire region? 4%! and left the other regions intact lol... Anyways.

So I am the one arguing with emotions abi? clap for yourself.
Plus your maths is terrible, they didn't remove 4% of south west but 17.3% of it (4/(19+4) * 100) which happened to be 4% of the entire country not sw

So the 4% was not significant enough to on their own. Or they did not differ to significantly from yorubas on the west to be on their own. I was enjoying your argument but you don't have to belittle minority ethnic groups to score a point

Igbos are the smallest major ethnic group in Nigeria.
In the 1960s the Eastern region had the number 3,4 and 7 largest ethnic groups in Nigeria, )Igbos, Efik-Ibibios, Ijaws) and other large ethnicities like Ogonis. Plus al the other tribes of the northern cross river. YET it was only slightly more populated than the Western region that was almost exclusively Yoruba at the time. And the Yorubas of the then northern region divisions of Kwara and Kabba were not even part of the maths.
You do the maths.

out of that 23%, by the time you remove the heavily populated Ibibios, Efiks, Annangs, Ijaws, Ogonis, Bokis, Yallas...... Just imagine what you will have left.
They were delta igbos in the mid west

FamilyRe: COVID-19 Lockdown: Side Chicks & Side Guys, How Have You Been Coping? by darfay: 2:34pm On Apr 01, 2020
RiyaGoddess:
KNOCK KNOCK ! It's me again ooo!

How is the compulsory holiday going? That dog photo below is a perfect picture of me on day 2 lock down. It's just day 2 and I am already feeling tired of staying at home. Does Shile have a choice? NO!

Okay so for some days now, I have been thinking of this whole lock down thing and its effects. I thought of how all schools, companies, offices, businesses, churches, mosques, almost everything shut down worldwide hmmm oye olorun (God knows best). The lock down made everybody to go back home to stay at home so they can stay safe.

Personally, I know some few persons who traveled out of Lagos on Monday before the 11 pm curfew declared by the president. Most of them are artisans who came to Lagos to hustle, leaving their wives and children behind in their home town. For instance, our generator repairer Lati went back to Ogbomoso on Monday to join his wife and children at home.

Also the welder across the junction Baba Emma left Lagos for Oyo on Monday too. When I asked for his reasons, he said nobody will patronize him during the lock down and even the vulcanizer close to him also traveled back home.

I also heard that the motor park was very busy on Monday which shows that some people if not all traveled back home on Monday. Even students are not left out, as all secondary and tertiary schools closed. Students returned home to be with their parents or guardians and husbands or fathers went back home to be with their wives and children during this season.

Sometime last week, I received a whatsapp broadcast saying that all parents should be informed that all schools are on holiday and if their daughter is not at home, that means a boy has quarantined her for them lols! The same way I reversed it and said, any married man that is not at home at this period, that means a side chick has quarantined him for his wife lol! The amebo spirit in me became an emergency detector and started watching out for my neighbors daughters and husbands who haven't returned home but they eventually returned one after the other lol!

I have heard some testimonies of how this lock down have been a blessing to some marriages and families. I heard some men who never had time for their wives and children now have all the time for them. This stay at home period have strengthened marital and family bonds, even relationships. It increased the love in the home, day by day, couples and families are getting to know and understand each other more, men are beginning to help their children out with their holiday assignments, men are beginning to help their wives with house chores, family play and fun time is increased, they pray and study the word of God together and of course not forgetting the endless sex lol! Some bachelors now see the importance of marriage as they have unexpectedly become so bored due to the COVID-19 lock down.

On the other end, there are some persons who are not finding this lock down funny. They see it as some sort of curse per - say especially those who are second families, side chicks and side guys.

I saw a domestic violence video last night which shows that there might be increase in domestic violence as a result of this lock down. I remember reading a post on the increased rate of divorce in China as a result of the COVID-19 lock down. I don't know, I don't know but I think these are couples who do not live together per - say but the COVID-19 lock down forced them to be together 247, what do I know? It's just me thinking loud (smile).

My purpose for this write up is not to mock or look down on these set of people but rather to know how these side chicks or side guys have been coping since the COVID-19 lock down began. We all know it's a compulsory holiday and everybody must be at home as almost all institutions have shut down so there's no excuse not to be at home especially for those who are married.

Are there side chicks, side guys or any one playing second fiddle in the house? Are you already feeling the lock down pains because your partner will be away from you for sometime? Are you already missing your side partner? Side chicks, are you calling his phone lines and he isn't answering your calls? Side guys, are you calling her number and she isn't answering your calls? Married men and women, did you edit your side partners name on your phone because you are back home with your number 1 family? Side chicks, was there any provisions made before he left or did he just disappear without notice? Did this lock down open your eyes to the reality that you have been a side chick or side guy all along unknown to you? Side chicks, did you forcefully quarantine the other woman's man? Side guys, did you forcefully quarantine the other man's woman? Are they begging you and promising heaven and earth for a release to go home? Will things ever remain the same in the relationship after the COVID-19 Pandemic is over?

DISCLAIMER !!!
Please note that this is not a table breaking post undecided and if tables gets broken along the line, our doctors and nurses in the house are on standby to fix all broken tables lols! No insult intended, let's just have fun with it and no one should take it personal please. Also note that I am not in any way promoting sexual immoralities, fornication or adultery! He built and almost in completion stage of one of the biggest sec in nigeria, he is almost 80 percent finishing stage of the road ibusa road from asaba to ughelli that is a federal government road, he has completed over 5000 roads in delta state, he link up all the urban and rural communities, he rebuilt the international Airport in asaba and construction is still going on, the past governor couldn't build lagos asaba old road for 8 years, he built and completed it and owa eke road, he built and completed it in 2 years. A dual carriage road... Should I keep naming? Have anyone heard of flooding again in asaba? No he built a storm drainage that ran all through asaba and he is still expanding it more. For the first time asaba looks like a capital. More? MBW asaba was reconstructed, more? He is fixing all schools in delta state. Now just fixing them but a total reconstruction. Past government they owe salary for months, but I can beat my chest he isn't oweing and that of the local government have been payed.
No one is hearing of militant fighting in delta state why? Warri development commission that have been set up and over 30 billion naira have been allocated and contracts have been given to China and setraco for the construction of roads. Do you want more? Okowa isn't a radio governor he keeps developing delta state without making noise.
A PDP governor bringing in federal presence. We have a navy university in ibusa now, high Court, now FRSC institution, one of the biggest teachers training institutions in nigeria being built and 90 percent completed, Nigeria army now have an head quarters in asaba and a barrack is being built in emuhu. All these are built by the state and handed over to the federal government. You want more?
Is that all? Propagandist

Okpara is the eldest son of a family. This can be the nuclear family, or the kindred, both 'eldest sons' have the same title.
