Wasn't my initial post comprehensive enuff? I've been down the google lane and I keep coming across conflicting versions of their story. None however explicitly explain what they discovered that made them more powerful than even the roman catholic church they purportedly served!

Hence my question once more. . . who knows what these knights discovered that empowered them so much?

I'm simply infatuated with the subject matter (pls don't ask me why, just have this burning desire to know the truth). Can anyone here shed more light on what the Knight Templars discovered that made them so powerful?

I've read books, watched documentaries, viewed internet links (perhaps I've been looking in the wrong place!) all to no avail, such info appears vague and inconclusive to say the least.

Any religious historian in the house?
