No be only market leader.

If we want the price of cement to come down, we need to open the cement market.

Dangote controls that market, and so controls who comes in.

The day that market opens up, and the market is evenly distributed (even if only as an oligopoly), the price of cement will come down.

One disadvantage of a monopoly is high price.

With more true competition, price will decrease.
dangote doesnt control cement market....

i dont know where you have that from....

because i produce more bananas than you, doesnt mean i control bananas....

I don't even know how to explain this thing to some people here.
All I know is that. He will fix all is goods and services in his OWN PRICE without giving a SOD about his country.
I pity Nigerian when he's done with his refinery.
The government and Dangote(Majorly) will this fix price.
Remember, all his goods are expensive (sugar, cement, etc).
So don't even expect the fuel ⛽ price to come down per liter.
It will shock you whenever Dangote increases his ⛽ fuel price and we don't just have choice than to buy it at that rate.
you wan tell me when their is abundant petrol, dangote will fix his own price in nigeria....??

does that even make sense to you....??

if he does that and sell more than what we could get from abroad,na still him will loose....

Crap, everything to people like you is racism.

Was it not US government that invested money through its ExIm bank in Dangotes refinery to support it.

How come they do not want blacks to produce yet they allow blacks to use their finance and technology?

i dont await much from somebody that bows down to a white jessssus christ....

You have missed the whole essence of the report.

This is not about one man controlling the country, but the strategy of that one man controlling the country.

Dangote's business strategy together with his connection with every government since 2003 has helped him become a billionaire at the expense of the economy.

The United States favors every business equally. At least, they try to do.

But in Nigeria, Dangote enjoys clear favoritism, from getting dollars at extremely very cheap rate to getting access to ship outside even while the borders stayed officially closed.

When you ban tomato importation so that one man can launch his product, you are not helping the economy grow. You are just helping one man.

Presently, Dangote controls over 60% of the cement market not because he is a good businessman, but because of the connection with successive governments beginning with Obasanjo in 2003 when Obasanjo had a fallout with Atiku.
dont even start like that....innoson enjoy the same too....

When Dangote started selling cement for between 800 to 1000 naira some years back only few people saw what he was planning. Eagle cement and other cement companies made loses upon loses for that singular move.

Now see where we are, cement is now over 4 thousand naira in some areas in Nigeria.

Dangote is a blood sapping capitalist.
capitalist....

but you shouldnt listen to people that enslaved and colonized you....
limit dangote yourselves....

When i sing about Dangote industries being an evil that shouldn’t be allowed to strive, some fellows would say i’m just bent on attacking their benefactor or kinsman. Is that all there is in Nigeria. Protecting your selfish interest to the detriment of the masses.

Do you know how many times Facebook has been slapped with Anti-trust laws. Mark is on his toes, he looks either way 7 times before he crosses the road. You can’t be engaging in predatory business practices that would kill off your competitors fairly, it is bad for the economy.

You are talking pure nonsense, how many people is Dangote industries employing in the whole of Nigeria, the figure is far less than 35,000 with its mass scale of operations, plus they pay the most deplorable salaries which is a factor in promoting poverty.

If Dangote allowed his competitors to strive with using underhand political tactics to destroy them do you know how many more jobs there would be X10 (Yes i said it; times 10).

Get all facts and knowledge and stop defending what should be frowned at huh

Ofcourse we all saw it coming. It's completely mind boggling how any sane person still supports this Buhari's regime.

If you still support Buhari, you'll most likely never die well.
did you even read how many middle men this product pass through before it reaches you....??

Further analysis of the component charges in the pricing template showed that average littering expenses were put at about N4.81 per litre; Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) charge N2.49 per litre; NIMASA charge N0.23 per litre; Jetty Thru put of N1.61 per litre and Storage charge of N2.58 per litre and average finance cost of N2.17 per litre, translating to an expected landing cost per litre of N189.61.

When other component charges are factored into the price computation, including the wholesale margin of N4.03 per litre; administration charge of N1.23 per litre; transporters’ allowance (NTA) of N3.89 per litre; Bridging Fund cost of N7.51 per litre and Marine transport average (MTA) of N0.15 per litre, the expected ex-depot price for wholesale products marketers would be N206.42 per litre
