Sports / 5 Reasons Why Mikel Must And Would Win The African Player Of The Year by DARREG(m): 6:26pm On Jan 05, 2014 |
5 REASONS WHY MIKEL MUST AND WOULD WIN THE AFRICAN PLAYER OF THE YEAR 1. THE WINNER OF THE BBC AFRICAN PLAYER OF THE YEAR DOES NOT ALWAYS WIN THE CAF AFRICAN PLAYER OF THE YEAR. You can go and check the records almost all the time that a player wins the BBC coveted award the player always miss out of the CAF award. 2. THE REASON WHY OKOCHA WAS ROBBED FOR ETO'O IN 2004 IS THE SAME REASON WHY MIKEL MUST BE AHEAD OF YAYA TOURE IN 2013 Okocha was robbed in 1998 and 2004 but the one of 2004 really caught my fancy. Am not saying that eto'o is not a good player as a matter of fact eto'o proved himself after he was given the award to lead barcelona to trophies in 2005 and 2006 but the issue here is about year 2004 go and check the records and note these facts about eto'o in 2004 fact 1: Nigeria knocked cameroon out of the 2004 nations cup with okocha scoring the decisive free kick fact 2: Okocha single-handedly saved bolton from relegation that even Man utd were bidding for him fact 3: Eto'o just signed for barcelona and has not really started scoring so much goals for them fact 4: Barcelona did not win any major trophy in 2004(remember porto won UCL) The excuse CAF gave was that Eto'o was in a world class club and okocha was in a struggling relegation threatened team even though Okocha's individual performance clearly surpasses Eto'o for 2004. In 2013 Chelsea won more trophies than Man city and Mikel's contribution cannot be overemphasised 3. LAGOS, NIGERIA WILL BE THE VENUE I dont think any place would be best for a Nigerian player to bagg the award than our own center of exellence as you know Naija people no dey carry last. 4. MIKEL'S CLUB AND COUNTRY WERE MORE SUCCESFUL IN 2013 Mikel was the MVP when Nigeria played Ivory Coast and we won the CAN. Chelsea were also more succesful than Man city in 2013. And Mikel is now scoring beautiful goals 5. THE INCREDIBLE CONSISTENCY OF MIKEL Since Mourinho's 1st era as manager of chelsea about 8 managers has been to chelsea before his return. And it might interest you to know that mikel(among the few foreigners to remain until now) has always been a regular for all this managers the likes of Sidwell, Malouda, Deco, Essien,graveson,...(i cant remember again please help me add them) all left chelsea at different times because the manger felt they were suplus to requirement but mikel remained. The only other people that remained are the english boys. this is just to show the irresplacable input of mikel in the chelsea squad. You can add your own reason to this article and let me know if you agree with my analysis

To the young man comaparing OSU and CU....I might have to remind you that when it comes to University rankings the most respected is 4icu.org and webometrics.com also NUC always release ranking every year....if you care to know in all these rankings CU was ranked as the 7th best in Nigeria....far far above OOU and even one place above Uniben....I am not sayn CU is currently the best in Nigeria(they have their flaws) but even in its 10 years of existence it is already above OSU already...if you were a Unilag,Unilorin or OAU student now I would have kept quiet because I really respect those schools but definately not OSU |
Education / Re: Most Expensive Private Universities In Nigeria Unveiled by DARREG(m): 9:45pm On Dec 22, 2013 |
People who claim Bishop Oyedepo uses Covenant University to amass wealth are seriously ill-informed...for the record Covenant University is one of the cheapest private university due to the fact that the Church ensures the fees are continously low...although the cost of Living could be quite high because of peer pressure |

You just made a valid point!...but adding the word 'rubbish' to it does not really sound right Mindependent: Every girl is beautiful in their own way, opening a thread to say one is more beautiful than another is pure stupidity and objectifying of women. Rubbish! 1 Like 1 Share |

So you think because you hussled more, you are better off...its about what you applied that 'A' into to produce results that matters...or do you think developed countries like US and UK normally hussle like that to achieve the scientific breakthroughs they achieved...instead of u to be complaining about the poor educational system in OOU you are praising them...nawa 4 u o adeola_drg: I remembered how I hussled to score an 'A' in mat101, the toughest exam in the history of OOU 100level. Theory questions with inadequate space and time to finish, no past question (all new) u won't even see any question from bundhay and the other big maths textbooks.. The saddest part(which is not ur business) is that our maths lecturer took us only 2 topics out of 10 and travelled abroad for research or smth but came back during exams and set standard questions (e no pity say e no teach us).. We said all manner of stuff buh looking back now it made us stronger as we went to source for tutors and books on our own.. I was brimming and exuding with serious confidence saying that no 100L in this nation could stand me..Lol . I compare it with my 100L in CU, my brother I understood the difference btw play and work. Simple 40 obj questions with almost 25 repeated questions. Questions set from class examples and assignment. 1 Like |

What is this one sayn??....Who mentioned OAU here?....If you must know there are factors that places Covenant higher than OAU...NOTE: I am not sayn CU is presently greater than OAU in all aspects o xtophy: Who dare compare Covenant with OAU....its just simple..dos privates are overhyped...500 1st class.....lwkmd |

its allowed to appreciate thier struggle...but it does not mean they should be pained that someone went to a private school adeola_drg: Prolly cos I've attended a private university b4. I appreciate the pains of been a first class student in a public university. It was bread-and-butter those days in covenant. |

Some private schools offer medicine naa...Good schools like Bowen, Igbenedion, Babcock have a well established medical school adeola_drg: As far as private universities could not offer me pharmacy and my medical colleagues medicine. They're at the back of the log. For me! |

sopoundz: Nice write up op. Its very funny cuz I met a lot of public grads sum were like "look @ how many 1st class students r produced in priv uni" n I told him 2 bring sum1 credible in my field let's debate... Education / The Deep Hatred Of Public University Students Against Their Private Counterparts by DARREG(m): 5:09pm On Dec 15, 2013 |
WHY ARE PUBLIC UNIVERSITY STUDENTS THREATENED BY THE EMERGENCE OF PRIVATE UNIVERSITIES? I dont know if I'm the only one that have noticed this but whenever a private university student/graduate is around public university students(especially when they notice he's from a private school) There is always a deep feeling of insecurity among them which is quite alarming. I wonder if they are anonyed that the private university students want to take jobs meant for them despite the fact that they did not suffer like they suffered. You dont find private university student feeling insecure among thier public public counterparts instead they are always concerned about proving themselves intellectually which is quite appluadable. More often than none I hear public university peeps saying things like "You that could not score 200 in JAMB that is claiming smart" "You went to an advanced secondary school and not a university" "You cannot get your present result if you attended my school or any public university" "If you were in my school you would not graduate" For me I feel public university students put so much value on certificate and paper results if not they should not be feeling bad whenever private university students release 50-100 first class students in a session. What matters should be what they do after the result and not the certificate I have met some very smart students in public and private schools and I have also met many unserious ones but I feel it does not matter what school you went or what certificate you got but what you did with it. All in all I want to ask why do public schools hate private schools so much? |
