Hi guys, I'm getting very concerned... Apr 10, 2024: Application for a conference lodged Apr 23, 2024: Sent document May 15, 2024: Sent requested document (USA visa rejection letter in 2018) May 22, 2024: Sent requested document (Driving records and police certificate, Australia) There has been no update. Rejected before (2022; Study permit, PhD + Scholarship || reason: Not convinced that I'd leave Canada) POF of over $100k, lands, full supporting documents from my host institution, LOE, etc. Australian processing times for a Tourist visa went from 33 to 55 to 84 to 93 to 112 to 63, and now to 36 days I earlier sent an email to the Sydney Consulate, and they replied within a week but they haven't responded to my follow-up email. Kindly advise |
Tourist visa application: 11 April Biometrics and medicals are not required purpose: Academic conference Country of application: Australia submitted all requested documents scheduled light date: 14th July (to), 20th July (Return) Is there any way to hasten/expedite the application process? |
Hello good people, I need some clarity, please... BSC: Mechanical Engineering (Nigerian University) -- 5 years MSC: Mechanical Engineering (South Korean University) --- 2 years PhD: Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (Ongoing; Australian University) --- First year Currently trying to apply for a skills assessment on Engineers Australia. SK University is accredited under the 3 ACCORDS but Naija Uni isn't (obviously) My question is- should I apply via one of the ACCORDS or via CDR? |
hello guys, I would like to be added to the telegram group. 07065159058 Also, is there anyone going to Griffith Nathan Campus this July? please hit me up ENDNOTE: Between Canada and Australia, which would you prefer? |
please help guys... why is my PPR not coming forth? I applied in Korea... should I be emailing the Korean embassy or the Nigerian embassy?
|
Wow! Why do you think Australia is better? Onweke: |
I really appreciate your response. Thanks Onweke: |

Hello Gurus in the house, I really need your help!!!! Program: PhD Sart date: Fall 2022 Visa Application details: Applied: April 15, 2022 Medical (Upfront) : April 20, 2022 (passed) Biometrics Enrolment: April 20, 2022 Biometrics - May 6, 2022:Completed. Have been waiting for their feedback but I just received news from Australia. My study permit has been granted and I am expected to arrive in Australia before July 11th. Just wrote this email via the IRCC webform and thought I should share it. ______________________________________ Dear IRCC, I applied for a study permit and was hoping I'd know the results of my application sooner to help me plan for travel and enrollment into the PhD program. Alongside my acceptance by a Canadian university and the subsequent Student Visa application, I also had been accepted by an Australian university and have been granted an Australian student permit; however, Canada is my first choice and I would appreciate it if the results of my Canadian Visa application are provided sooner (within this month- June 2022). It wouldn't be a wise decision to keep waiting in uncertainty while the clock ticks toward my enrollment date in Australia (July 11 2022). I would really appreciate it if my application is evaluated sooner. This would help me make necessary travel plans among other necessary decisions. I am really looking forward to a timely response in the hopes that my student visa application is successful. Thanks in anticipation of your reply. ______________________________________ from the email, you can understand what my problem is and why I need an urgent response. What would you advise? Should I just carry my bag dey go to Australia or wait it out? Please feel free to be as brutally honest as you can... I am a Nigerian living in Asia (also currently enrolled in a PhD program that I'd have to dump for better soil and opportunities). All feedback is welcome at this point and I am REALLY craving your responses. Thanks in anticipation. |
My form ( IMM 5257B)no gree generate any bar code(s) ooo. wetin I go do? |
Quick one guys, my IMM 5257B form has refused to generate any bar code(s). Should I be worried? what must I do please? |
Hello Gurus, I am a bit concerned. I intend to leave my ongoing PhD program for another program in Canada. Should I include my transcripts (so far) in the visa application? looking forward to your reply |
Hello Gurus, I just read that it is wise to declare all your bank statements which actually makes sense; however, I am a bit concerned: I have a sufficient bank statement from Japan (over 60k CAD), a full scholarship from a Canadian school, 3 plots of land documents (inherited from my late dad), and barely 100k in a Nigerian Bank. Should I include the 100k bank statement too? |
CentennialGuy:Thank you so much for explaining... to avoid wahala, I have mixed both SOP/LOE into a 4-page document with subheadings: 1. Academic/Professional Background 2. Motivation for PhD Studies at York University 3. Why I chose Canada 4. Study Plans I believe the in-text reference I did better presents my application documents; however, an Appendix would also add value to the package. Thanks so much once again |
Afolavid:Thank alot for this clarity. I'll get back to the drawing board |
CentennialGuy:Thank you for your response. Actually, my SOP talks more about my background, motivation for a PhD, my intended research area, why I chose Canada, and my post-study plans. Is it wise to include in the SOP that I have attached land documents, NYSC, vaccine cert, police clearance, academic records, IELTS, academic reference, ID Cards, family tree... can you please guide me? Do I need to add an LOE? This is my first attempt. |
Abeg house, I am on the verge of submitting my application online. So far, I have attached all the IMM documents and relevant supporting documents; however, I am concerned about attaching the following documents in addition: 1. Letter of explanation of all supporting documents (is it necessary?) 2. Tax certificate 3. Affidavit of return. Can a GURU in the house advise me? I have a full scholarship, a very good self-sufficient bank statement, and 3 land documents (family-owned) so I'm wondering if I need those documents mentioned above. Thanks in advance |
isysleek:lets connect asap |
Hello guys, while reading through the platform, I learned that people submit their family's birth certificates, passports, etc. My problem now is that I am not on good terms with most of my siblings and wouldn't even bother asking them for their identity documents. On the flip side, I saw this on the CIC website (glossary): Accompanying family member: A spouse, common-law partner, dependent child or dependent child of a dependent child (grandchild), who plans to immigrate to Canada with the principal applicant. Accompanying family members are included on the application. Does this mean I can exempt them? What would you advise? PS: I am single, have no kids and don't intend to travel with anyone just yet. I can get the birth certificates/passports of a few of my siblings but not all of them. I also have an old family picture (taken since 2005). |
Afolavid:Thanks a lot for the feedback. Family photos? I think the last family photo we’ve had was in 2008, (I can get those). Plus most of my siblings don’t even have international passports. What would you suggest? |
Hello Gurus and colleagues, I really need advice on what to do: I've completed the forms: IMM 1294e, IMM 5645e, and IMM 5257b. So far, I don't think there are any errors (I hope); however, I'm currently gathering my documents and thought I'd ask for suggestions. Meanwhile, here are my details: Program commencement date: Fall 2022 Country of origin: Nigeria Country of residence: Japan Current job in Japan: PhD student The intent for moving to Canada: PhD Scholarship: Full cover + living allowances. Are funds available? YES (self) Are medicals done? YES (upfront) I intend to attach the following documents to my application online and thought I'd seek advice to avoid making any mistakes: 1. My current student ID card in Japan 2. IELTS TRF 3. PhD proposal 4. Bsc transcript + certificate (Nigeria) 5. MSc transcript + certificate (Japan) 6. NYSC certificate 7. Police clearance certificates (Nigeria and Japan) 8. Bank statements 9. Source of personal funds description (No payslips available) 10. Spending plan (1 page) 11. Past work letters (appointment letters, recommendation/attestation letters, promotion letters, etc.) 12. Academic Reference letters 13. SOP 14. CV 15. Academic awards + recognitions 16. Japan residence permit + ID card 17. Gmail conversations with supervisor(s) + School 18. A cover letter describing each document. 19. Birth certificate + LGA ID 20. National ID + voters card 21. Land documents (3 plots belonging to my late father) 22. Letters of financial support (during MSC and the current PhD program in Japan) 23. TAX clearance certificate in Japan What would you advise? am I missing something? Should I exclude something(s)? PS: I didn't include my secondary school certificates cos it seems irrelevant. Also, if you'd like to offer advice discretely, I'd appreciate it if message me via Whatspp at: [plus two three four, seven zero, six-five, one five, nine zero, five eight] Really looking forward to a timely response... |
Knight1:Thanks for the tip sir...I made a mistake earlier. It's actually 75 not 65 |
I just checked my score, like you said, its 65; however, I am a bit confused...so its either I use B.Eng or Ph.D.? MSC from another country is not relevant? |
Knight1:Wow. Thank you sir for this assistance...I am right on it! I shall drop my findings, challenges, and success (Hopefully) as I make progress |
Good morning everyone! Quick one...I will soon complete my MSc in Korea (in Feb 2021) and intend to apply for PR asap. I have gone through the posts and clicked most of the clickables and the truth is, the websites are confusing (plus the changing covid19 rules seem to affect everything) before I proceed, here are my info: Education: *B. Eng (Mechanical Engineering) * M.Eng (Mechanical Engineering) Occupation: *Machine Shop Assistant (Mechanical Engineer)- 4 years in Nigeria *Graduate Research Assistant (2 years) - in Korea Research Publications: 5 English language proficiency *IELTS Academic (7.5) (will expire in 2022) Marital status: Single Age: 31 (by March 2021) please where exactly should I start? |
Who else here is currently shooting for this opportunity? I have publications and currently running my MSc. Someone? Anyone open for this opportunity? |
SmartKitty:well dear, I wouldn't blame you for your post. First, I am a guy. second,I'm sure you now realise what i meant by "someone's daughter " committing suicide. So if you are a quick judgemental person, you might wanna change your perspective in life. Thanks and God bless |
Ogalanyaidi:I think we are on the same boat. I just dm you... |
Hey guys, I am kinda stuck in a situation. I have been with my partner in Korea for almost a year and we had been planning on initiating the K1 visa application by Feb 20th. With this new policy, what would yáll advise? Get married ASAP or initiate the K1 visa application before the Feb, 21st? really need some kinda help or solution before someone's daughter commits suicide in korea |
hello guys, I am a Nigerian studying in Korea and currently planning for a K1 visa with my fiance. I have read the requirements and so far, they appear feasible...however, my problem is the issue of a police certificate. I can get one from Korea here but considering that I am a Nigerian, I could be needing one from Nigeria. is there a way around this? must I provide the Nigerian certificate? can one get it online? can one get it for someone? flying down to Nigeria would be a huge expense on me. any help/suggestions would be appreciated |
(Hopefully) as I make progress
