SarakiBukola: Saraki is going nowhere. He's likely the next Senate President.
I have never seen where lawmakers are so openly defiant of a President and show unwavering loyalty to the Senate President.
Right now, i can bet plenty of APC lawmakers are really PDP in disguise.
My predictions : Buhari would be re-elected, but Senate and House of Reps would be fully PDP. PMB would really hate his 2nd term Una don start to confess. PMB is sure for 2nd term and the most PDP can hope for is majority in the National assembly(which is their game plan). APC knows this,so gear up for some lessons on strategy. We are watching. |

donigspain: [s][/s] LIEEEEESSSSSS!!!!
I plied this route yesterday (2:15pm - 4:45pm) and today (6:45am - 8:30am) to Ibadan for the #GOTvBoxingNight15 and back to Lagos and I can tell you it's still very bad. There is NO presence of construction workers or their trucks and machinery. I fear work may have been abandoned unless it's because it was weekend (Sunday/Monday morning).
Over 75% of the road is still pothole ridden. Commuters used one lane (Ibadan->Lagos lane) at some point.
Nonetheless, there's a portion of the road (7% - 10%) that was a smoooooooooooth ride. The construction looked strong and durable. I kept asking myself what it would take our govt to have all our highways in that beautiful condition. I wish seriously all our highways will be like that portion.
Notice the time stamps below? This is an ongoing project. In trying to give a 'balanced'view you ended up making no sense. Either you agree the government is doing a good job on that project or you disagree. Mr Impartial analyst

Samogbo1: Good day to all nairaland intellectuals,
Several times I've seen and heard Muslim clerics using "God" in a phrase were "Allah" is meant to be mentioned. ...I have read books, been to different religious seminars, mixed up with theological scholars concerning their views about Allah and God.
Most times the muslim clergies don't consider the aforementioned clause(God) to be different from their belief of Allah as their supreme.
From my views and educational attainments so far, it's very glaring that GOD being acknowledged as "trinity" by its xtain adherents as opposed to Islam, cannot replace "Allah" for any reason.
Listening to a general speech delivery by both renowned Muslim veterans like Alh. Muh'd Saad Abubakar and Alh. Sanusi Lamido Sanusi who normally use the phrase interchangeably, am always confused regards to what I've already known concerning Allah and God, thus breeds the question...
Is Allah and God the same
I will appreciate the contributions of all knowledgeable persons that comes across this thread. Thanks in advance! If we believe the God of the old testament bible is the same as the God of the new testament , then it is safe to say God and Allah are the same just different names. The old testament bible, the Koran and the Torah are very much alike. |

I'm equally worried about the way some of our youths reason, but i don't think offline they are as dumb as they seem here. Politics › Re: Defection of r-APC from APC - Why Saraki and Co Find It Hard to Defect by dat9jaguy(m): 9:09am On Jul 24, 2018 |
PassingShot: Any keen watcher of political developments in recent time must be wondering why Saraki and his co-conspirators have not still defected from APC despite numerous indications to that effect. We have heard and read many ultimatums and threats coming from the camp of these fair-weather politicians about their impending defection to PDP with no or little action. It's on this basis I decided to analyze the situation and come to the conclusion that these politicians may not defect after all.
The first question for a defecting politician or camp is "what do I/we stand to gain if I/we defect? In answering this question, each and every member of the r-APC/n-PDP must have compared their current situation to what is possible in PDP or other party they choose to defect to. For example, in the case of Saraki who is the arrow-head of the group, he must have realized that the best that can happen to him in PDP is what he already has in APC - the Senate Presidency. On the flip side, defecting to PDP/CUPP does not guarantee him that position should APC win majority of the seats in the 9th Senate. So, he will want to only make noise and "shake table" for APC-led FG to go easy on his real sin (conniving with PDP to win the SP and trading the DSP position in the process) and alleged sin of arming deadly gang which was arrested for the killings during the Offa robbery of April. Others including Kwankwaso, Sheu Sanni, Hunkunyi et al are in worse situation than Saraki in the sense that they know winning an APC candidate anointed by PMB in their respective senatorial district is a herculean task. So, they'd reason it's better to stay put and use threat of defection to get an automatic ticket to return in 2019.
In opposition, Saraki will most likely win his senatorial district and possibly win Kwara (60% to APC's 40% in my opinion) for PDP but that's as far as he can go because he has no influence or strong followership outside his state to dent PMB's huge cult-like following in the North. He knows he can't win any contest against APC's Buhari in 2019 and so would not even dare to attempt it for the loss of his senate seat.
To many online warriors shouting Buhari is a tyrant and all the hogwash, those of us who really wanted change are not disappointed in his stance to bring anyone who has committed a crime to book irrespective of their political standing. Should the president say that Saraki should not be questioned for alleged sins because he is in APC or the SP? This was part of what brought Nigeria to where it is and you want us to continue in similar way? This was the way of PDP in the 16 years it ruled and we condemned it day and night but because of blind politicking, some of you want it to continue for some weird reason. Again, if Saraki is not questioned, you will turn around to say "all sins are forgiven once you join APC". What do you want, you confused lot?
Lastly, if Saraki is not a coward using emotions and gullibility of his online supporters to curry sympathy, there can't be a better time to defect with his group from APC to wherever they like. I mean, what is the point in remaining in a party you claim is not treating you fairly for 3.5years and counting? Is APC holding a gun to Saraki's head (and his co-travelers) and preventing them from decamping?
Don't tell me about APC/Oshiomole begging them. We all know that it's natural for a party to want to hold on to their existing members while even trying to win more. So, nothing new in that. At the end of the day, NO ONE can prevent Saraki and co from decamping. I can't wait for him to decamp honestly.
Na you wey he dey use your emotion play I pity. My sentiments exactly. Nice article. |

we need just 5 governors in southern nigeria to stare at the federal govt in the eye and tell them go to hell
we won't give you our resources but we will pay tax and contribute to the ferdral purse if need be.
we will put in place state police
we will practise true federalism
call it Treason or whatever. we just need rivers state crossruver. anambra. lagos. and delta.
other states will fall inline
rubbish Bury that thought. Even before they finish making that speech federal troops would have taken over that government house. Do you know that because of such eventuality, amongst other reasons, police and military formations are in every state. |
