LocalStandard1: The FCT, Abuja, has always been unlucky since 2015. All the candidates winning Presidential elections since 2015 have always lost Abuja's votes, but this very one is something else entirely. Never has a presidential candidate been so unpopular in the FCT in Nigeria's history.
This morning the FCT is looking and feeling quite very gloomy and down casted. You can't walk a regular street and not see people sitting with their heads down as if they've lost someone.
I am personally trying to look at the good side of everything and remove my mind from what just happened, but other people's despondency is still try'na get to me. Today is really a sad day for us in ABJ.
Let me go find food chop and maybe buy a packet of sweets lickam, watch plenty foreign comedy movies, hit the gym and chop some more. I don tire!
We will not forget you our able President, Peter Obi!! Because you lost you con turn poet.

Firstorderwizard: Sorry, He's no longer interested in Nigerian politics. I casually sought for his opinion on the case. Abuja was actually designed as a WAZOBIA territory according to him but He is of the opinion that the clause itself is outdated in the constitution and needs to be amended Your argument has been overtaken by his declaration as the president-elect. You can rest now.

Politics › Re: FCT: A Run Off Is Likely by dat9jaguy(m): 10:45pm On Feb 28, 2023 |
Firstorderwizard: I personally consulted my uncle (a retired judge in his 80's) on the interpretation of the constitution. Mind you He is a member of the 1997/98 constitutional conference that drafted the 1999 constitution. He said that the FCT 25% clause was added because the President is like the FCT "governor" who now appoints a Minister to run the territory for him. Therefore, for the President to be the Legitimate head of the FCT, He must have 25% approval of the people in FCT. Let us start by knowing this your uncle, then we can contact him to personally hear from him. We no want 3rd party gist.

A deadbeat dad who abandoned his legally married wife with three kids including twin boys for an Ethiopian hooker whom he impregnated out of wedlock. And it is that same Ethiopian prostitute that is feeding and housing him. No sane person takes this fraudulent man serious. Insult less and vote more.

|
Politics › Re: Peter Obi Wins FCT Presidential Election by dat9jaguy(m): 11:14am On Feb 28, 2023 |
00FFT00: You must secure 25% of the votes cast in 24 states and FCT to become president.
Tinubu FCT Score:
90902 / 478923 * 100 = 18,980.......
= 18.9%
Atiku FCT Score:
74199 / 478923 * 100 = 15,492.......
= 15.4%
Basis:
Section 134 (2) of the Nigerian constitution.
You must secure 25% of the votes cast in the FCT. Tinub and Atike failed to meet this requirement. FCT is not regarded as a state hence the emphasis on FCT. It just means the candidate must get 25% of votes in 24 states +1 state =25 states. That is why in the constitution Nigeria comprises of 36 states plus FCT.

The title of this thread is a very very honest question. Please do NOT reply if APC hasn't done any positive thing for you. I want to know what Nairalanders have benefited from this current government. Don't coman tell me how you suffered, I didn't ask for that! Politics › Re: This Is Why Many People Are Attacking Some Prominent Pastors (Pictures) by dat9jaguy(m): 9:29am On Feb 23, 2023 |
LocalStandard1: First of all let me say a little about the philosophy and social construct of religion and politics....
1. There is not a single civilization, culture or society throughout man's history and existence that politics is practiced without the input or contributions of the group's religious beliefs. Not a single! Even today, right now in our time. Religion and politics are like twins! Everywhere! I believe politics has its roots from religion, that's why up till today you still find religious republics, from Earope to Asia, from the Middle East to Africa, the Americas. Everywhere!! Politics is a form of religion, it is one borne out of service and patriotism to nation as against Service and worship to God.
2. No where in the Bible did God instruct the people or any of his Messangers to not be involved in politics or affairs of the State, and not even criticize. In fact God himself ordains leaders, he himself encourages and gives strength to his people in political affairs in the Bible.
Now to my tittle!
There's a pattern to the particular Pastors being called out now for being "neutral"(they aren't really) and those who were vocal last year before the APC primaries. About all of them glamoured for Christians to get "aggressively" involved in politics last year.
They preached, they shouted, they talked on top of their voices that Christians are too docile and uninvolved in politics, and it was not good for Christendom. They preached in Churches that we should all get our PVCs, we be involved in politics, we shouldn't sit back and watch.
Now? Many of these same vocal Pastors being called out(by their own members) have either gone mute or they entirely change their messages in front of the same people they preach to. Quite surprising don't you think? They now either say "I have never voted!" Or "God did not speak to me about anything! Or "Bala Blu bulaba....!" Or they choose to even act like theres no elections coming. Hypocrisy!!
The Bible said in Matthew 7:15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. The Bible allows us as Christians to call them out by name. The Church is not a building, tis the gathering of Christians, everywhere.
IF YOU WILL NEVER STAND AND *SPEAK FOR ME* WHY SHOULD I GO TO YOUR HAND BUILT MULTI MILLION DOLLAR BUILDING SO YOU *SPEAK TO ME?!*
These elections has exposed all of them for who they really are, and we know them and will not forget their names! No single independent thought, always waiting for someone to make a decision for you. You are an adult with the full capacity to make decisions on your own not waiting for your pastor to tell you who to vote. Obidense too dull. |
