i guess you are back to active service. |
i am an avid internet user and so my work is usually done online. i handle freelance jobs untill recently when i got engaged with an american company. Its a structured job such that you can work from any location you deem fit. The issue is that i would love to relocate to the US cos my environment is really a kickback. working at night with poor internet connection coupled with IP issues has really given me a resolve to move. Also, i have missed several job offers just cos am based in Nigeria and that is not good. The question is, how do i go about the visa procurement and work permit issue as i lack knowledge of those. i want to apply for them myself and not the company since its my decision to relocate. I already have my employment certificate and am listed in their official site as a worker with them. Justwise and co, your advice is needed. thanks. |
whats your hourly rate? i can propose to offer you $2 per hour and sometimes you can work minimum of 5 to 6 hours daily. i just got a job with an american company where me and others handle data entry and admin jobs for all their clients. i can sublet the data entry and ms office jobs to you if you wish. if you want to work with me, then send me a mail nwakstar@yahoo.com lets discuss further. Thanks. |

I do freelance website development (with a ghost team), administrative consultations, and freelance graphics. I have at one point in time searched and begged people to give me jobs to do but after a while (and lots of free and cheap jobs) i understood my greatest strength in getting jobs. REFERRALS! Of recent, i have gotten more jobs via referrals than seeking and begging for jobs. I get so busy with referrals that i dare not start advertising. I dont even bid for jobs here on nairaland. I just finished doing an illustrative design for a humanitarian group in UK for t-shirt printing in preparation for their upcoming project in Sudan, also a website for a new transport company, did an administrative consultation job with an NGO for one month and currently building a corporate profile for an oil servicing firm....all through referrals. Bottom line? As an upcoming freelancer (many have always asked me), focus on your immediate environment...initially i began sourcing for clients here around Delta State and after a while, those around me started giving me referrals. And jobs gotten via referrals will go a long way in building your portfolio pending when you get the big one.(am still waiting for the big one )REASON FOR YOUR IMMEDIATE ENVIRONMENT? Weither you like it or not, most clients have trust issues...especially when you are in Abuja and wanting a client to send you 50k to design his/her website. You hardly get such clients who dont have trust issues. Major reason why you fall back home. In your environment, they can see you physically and would have less reason to trust you wont run away with their money. Its when you have gotten a very good profile, then you stat talking about extending your services to other parts of the country and outside the country. Meet friends, family, church members, etc get them to know what you do for a living. If you have extra cash, print flyers and complimentary cards and distribute. Recently, i received a call from someone saying he got my complimentary card from someone else and wants me to do a job for his friend...his friend called me the next day and i went to his office and the rest is history.....Now environment playing a major role there plus i was seen physically. Even though the client was a high ranking SPDC worker, he still had trust issues. You dont start looking for jobs in Sokoto when you can get them in your own backyard. I hope this helps and encourages up coming freelancers. Because when yo see a successful freelancer and CEOs like Dual Core, Yawa-ti-de, Afam4ever, GreenMouse, etc dont think they became successful by magic...it all starts from somewhere. i remember Dual Core saying at one time he started from his room (immediate environment)..now he is the #Ogaatthetop. ![]() |

Brand_new: For me, I'm very interested in e-commerce websites but the chances of that succeeding is still very slim. Even companies with huge budgets are backing out. Check dealfish for instance. On the issue of e-commerce, i think Nigerians are getting it wrong..they are making a big mistake. Companies set up e-commerce websites and throw in huge budgets for ad campaigns WITHOUT caring for ROI. Just like Yawa said, such sites must be allowed to grow by itself and thereby building huge customer base. The lifeline of any e-commerce website is its customer base. If that cant be achieved then they are bound to go bankrupt. I believe e-bay, amazon, etc didn't start today and tomorrow begin spending over 1m dollars in budget for ads. Whats the essence of spending huge budgets (like 500k) for ads and at the end of the day making 10 sales with profit margin of less than 0.0002% of 500k? If you cant do it then dont venture into it cos you want your e-commerce site to be an amazon-wanna-be. ![]() |

How much should I charge 4 dis?Basic rates outside Nigeria is about $10 an hour for a professional, so you should be looking at about $300 a month...divide that by half and that should do for the Nigerian Market |

I just got a text saying SMSPortalRobot has been launched. Its supposed to be a bulk SMS software of its kind like the likes of SPC, SPG, etc but on further investigation i discovered that SPG software being sold as SMSPortalRobot (SPR). The question is: is it legal? or its a rebranding from the SPG guys. Secondly why cant the so-called SPR people create their own software?? ![]() Baffles me. ![]() |
Use the text box widget. It accepts custom made codes also. |

I found this online and thought it will be fun to share the fun.... ![]() 1. Type “Do a Barrel Roll!” Want to add a little bit of “wake up” to your morning? Type “do a barrel roll” into the Google search bar, hit return, and the webpage suddenly does a 360. 2. Type “Google” Backwards Here's kind of a surreal one. Someone at Google must have gone “through the looking glass” when they created this alternate website. Basically, it's all the goodness of Google… if you were looking at it in a mirror! To get there, type: elgoog.im in your browser url window (I'm Google, backwards) and suddenly things get egnarts… 3. Type “Zerg Rush” The term “Zerg Rush” comes from an old online game called Starcraft, where the Zerg race is known for it's ability to overwhelm, or “rush,” their opponents for a quick victory. When you type in the above phrase, what looks like a normal results page appears; however, seconds later, the screen is bombarded by falling Google-colored “o”s. It becomes a mini game, where you must click the “o”s and destroy them before they eliminate the entire page. Although you can't 4. Type “Google Doodles” Google's “Doodles” are clever or interesting tributes to people or events in history that regularly replace the traditional Google Icon on the homepage. It began as a subtle homage to Burning Man in 1998, but quickly became very popular. There is even a special committee now within Google to decide upon the next Doodle, and a separate set of illustrators and developers to create it. Different Google Doodles have appeared on the various Google homepages around the world. Now there's a special search engine to explore the 1000+ Doodles. Type “google doodles” in the Google bar to get there. Popular ones include the guitar doodle for Les Paul's 96th birthday that actually works, as well as the 30th Anniversary of the classic game of Pac Man! 5. Type “pv zk bschk zk kkkkkkk” in Google Translate This one is pretty bizarre and obscure, therefore all the more fun and cool! Google Translate (http://translate.google.com) is an excellent tool to translate from your native tongue to dozens of languages. However, did you know it includes a “beat box?” That's right: set the Translate From button to English (also works in German) and type or paste in pv zk bschk zk kkkkkkk multiple times. If you put your mouse over the audio icon, you can see that it is now in Beat Box Mode, and, when clicked, will spit out a beat you can rap to! 6. Type in “funnygoogle” Are you a narcissist? Do you like to see your name in lights – or at least on the Google homepage? Type in funnygoogle and click the first result. You are taken to a new homepage, where you are then prompted to enter your name. Click save and Voila! The Google logo is now replaced with YOUR name! 7. Type “Completely Wrong” "Who, me??" Did you ever wonder why Mitt Romney lost the 2012 US Presidential Election? By typing in the phrase “completely wrong” into Google Images, you can perhaps get a clue as to why: the majority of returned images are of Mitt Romney himself! Oops!! 8. Type in different “languages” like Pig-Latin f course you can search in many different languages in Google, but did you know you could do it in made-up ones like Pig Latin? That's right, Google has a page for you: https://www.google.com/intl/xx-piglatin Others, such as Klingon and Elmer Fudd can also be accessed in a similar way: (xx-klingon, xx-elmer) Enjoy yoursewf! 9. Type “anagram” or “recursion” For those that like their humor dry, Google has a few jokes worked into its search routine. If you type anagram (a word or words that are made of the same letters of another word) you get the snarky suggestion: do you mean nag a ram? Get it – it's an anagram! On the super-geeky end, if you type in the word “recursion” Google snaps back: do you mean recursion? It's not funny if I have to explain it… Or ask Google: what is the answer to life, the universe, and everything? |
Simple na, just call Slyr0x. ![]() |
lojik: The complaints that have been laid here are not about all Afrisoft support. Its about estoresms which is a subsidiary of Afrisoft. Every subsidiary have their own personnel and resources. Its just unfortunate that most clients complain about Afrisoft rather than being specific about the erring subsidiary company. Other subsidiaries are doing great with their support e.g VoguePay team, Easy IP team, School supplement team, SPC team, ITP team, Software Dev team e.t.c.The subsidiary of Afrisoft is a department of Afrisost. Shekinah!!! If your subsidiary nor they perform well, na the parent company go get the heat. Its more or less talking about various departments in your company. Its still Afrisoft. Bottom line, improve your support system or better still, employ the services of a customer support company to help you run that department, since your staff in that department are really lacking. An example, of an efficient customer service is simplepay4u.com |
Go back to your softaculous installer and re-install wordpress...and this time, leave the directory space after your domain name blank so it installs in your domain name directly. |
