In d past year, we all have witnessed how ridiculous amount charged by non professionals and newbies have had negative impact on us the professionals and the Website Design & Development Profession.

Personally on several occassions, I have been seen as a person who charge exorbitantly or "just to expensive" with clients siting exampls of other website designer who charge just 10-25k for a website (but we all know what they get at d end-frustration). This actually made me loose some jobs or in some cases, I've had to just consider and do jobs at give away price. But on a particular occassion, I literally walked away due to the clients manner of approach.

If we intend to have good stories to tell at the end of 2013, then, we all must agree to charge a basic/standard fee of not less than 50k for a 5 page website. Cos if we charge less, how much will your service charge be? I charge 20k for yearly hosting and domain name.

I believe we want to live above average life. Lemme hold it here for now.

Suggestion? Like i said in some post last two years, We need to set up a registered association, and compel all web developers to register with said association. This association or union is gonna serve as a regulatory body for web developers providing a fixed "minimum" charge for jobs. The general public is going to be aware of it. SO if you give your job to non-registered developer, na u sabi.

Its gonna promote professionalism and give web developers their long due respect in the society. Atleast street barbers do have a union how much more web developers.

^^ lol..i believe its a 1 or 2 page site. Mostly sites with just home page and payment link at the bottom after the sales "story" Or basically no payment links but just to pass along an information.

2) Contact form: I entered "dd" in all fields and got an error for "name" and "comments". What kind of rule did I violate there? It would be nice to explain to the user
3) Ensure that all forms are consistent: Why use one (better-looking) form on "request quote" and another for "contact"?
4) Still on forms: Why use a 3rd party form on, I assume, a corporate website? Doesn't look professional plus now, that company has access to all emails sent to them

Will work on the isues pointed out. Regarding the 3rd party form, i got tired and the job (what i did) is actually synonymous with the pay. You pay a professional fee to get a professional job.

When you say least expected, it all depends on how you intend to build the website especially with a complete hotel booking and reservation system. If your client is willing to pay you well then you can get hotel reservation/booking software or application (either you build it yourself or you buy) ranging from 850 to 1,900 dollars depending on the quality and functionality you want.

But if their budget falls within 100k or 150k then you might consider a cheaper alternative (that can also meet your goals) like icebooking component of joomla. I think its somewhere around 50 dollars. Plus voguepay hotel booking payment plugin which works with icebooking and will make your job easier.

So you can charge as much you can (depending on client's capacity) or as low as 100k and still deliver and make some profit.
