Hey peeps, i have read alot of threads and posts about people who need jobs in Dubai. I have carried out a small research on the said subject matter and got a result. There is a list of compiled recruitment agencies which have been verified and confirmed. They publish job listings and conduct interviews daily. They DONT request for payment of any kind. From the review i got;

Process
A little common sense would mean that your jobsearch would involve a trip out to the UAE for a period of time to check out the market. You are not going to get a job (or it is very unlikely) from sitting at your PC signing up to agencies. If they want to interview you, or a potential interviewer wants to interview you, you need to be in the country.

So, you must be physically there to apply for these jobs because they usually conduct interviews. But if you feel you can get that job from your computer online, then goodluck. When you get there, you can dedicate your time applying to jobs listed with these agencies. They publish vacancies online in their website AND newspaper. This information is just to guide you...me i go use am too some day

Skype is the easiest way for me to communicate with you. The people i work for use Skype and when i get an update from them its easier to just pass the info across to you. Am on Skype 24hours and it has free messaging and free calls feature. Everybody have their choice preference tool for communication and mine is Skype which i have installed in my phone. Do you have a problem with that?

What you do basically is audio transcriptions, data entry (copying data from a database and pasting in excel, or any other format as requested by the client), graphics,email support, MS Office (Word, excel, PowerPoint, MS Access), programming, creative writing with SEO, etc.

I am a freelancer with 80% of my clients in US. I also get referrals a lot so am always busy. And that's why i need extra hands. Hope this explains what this is all about.

@OP, if you dont value CMS, then probably you dont know why its used. If a client says "i need a normal 5 page website....just a simple one for my business", thats when CMS comes in. Saves you the stress of coding from scratch if you know how to customize CMS very well. If what is needed is loads of functionalities and stuff, then you code from scratch.

Nice, but dropbox is better. More options, i can invite you to see a file in my drive and it instantly reflects in your own dropbox folder where you just copy the file instead of "downloading" the file. Furthermore, it syncs with your yahoo mail so you can save attachments directly to your dropbox folder. Cuts the process of doing it manually. As per the website preview option from google drive, its cool but i still prefer dropbox. I make use of CX back then before switching to dropbox. I also use google drive too.....am tired of computer crashing and document recovery stress.

I hate it when I visit a site, any site (in this case a very popular Nigerian online newspaper), and I see an email address listed beneath the author's name that isn't related to the newspaper's domain. In other words, instead of say, aaa@sunnews.com, it is aaa@yahoo(or gmail or msn, etc).com. Don't these folks know that it doesn't make them look good, not to mention such sites lose out on branding opportunities?

I really dont know much about getting a patent in Nigeria but nothing is impossible. As for the biz, yes it will require alot of work and probably some finance. Some of the background work is already in progress which includes the API. Creating the trading platform and integrating the API is the bulk of the work. Then testing and extensive debugging comes last. As per finance, 60% of the funding will go into adverts, massive adverts within the first 3months of lunching. We are looking at approximately N1.5 millon.

somebody: Thanks databoy for your input. I think the idea that jumps out at me is no 2 because I started working on it but decided I had no time to dedicate to it. Its one of those ideas I've wondered why noone else has done because of the high rate of unemployment. I have a domain reserved too for this - happy to transfer it and the small work I did to whoever can dedicate time to making it a success.

Brand_new: How Feasible is the first one? I'm seriously in doubt if NSE has made available real time trading platform for public use.
This will require a great deal of planning and investment. Maybe we should take our discussion to the Webmasters section to get more valuable input.

Its very feasible. There is no realtime trading platform but there is a realtime update API which can be used for the said purpose. The trading isnt going to be buying and selling of stocks per say. Am afraid i cant say much to secure my buiness idea. And i definitely cant disclose such in the webmasters sections.....until there is work in progress...then i can even apply for a patent before i disclose anymore details. Trust me, its really huge.

Actually i have 3 ideas.

1. Setting up a portal where Nigerians trade stocks online from the NSE. Highly potential, But cant say much here.

2. Set up a job board to link Nigerian freelancers with hourly job offers around the world. I am well xperienced in this. Also, with a Virtual Administrative (VA) platform where oganizations and small biz can outsource their admin and other tasks to working freelancers or VAs.....cost effective for them through outsoucing....am also very good at this....more details will provided on request. Good idea cos, very coy wanna cut cost.

3. Sell recharge cards online with a new kind of UI........there arent more than 10 websites (reliable) that actually does that in Nigeria. The market is still fresh here.

What makes joomla unique is its login extention which i am yet to see a wordpress plugin with such functionality. Thats why most people use it for bulk sms business. The wordpress plugin that has the "member login" functionality is buddypress i believe. Aside that, wordpress is easier to use cos of its friendly user interface. Astounding websites can be created with wordpress especially if you know how to manipulate codes.

@OP, what you should request for is called concept note. State your budget for the proposal and exact project title.
