And what mekes u think that d use of foreign product is d reason y our naira does not have value. So u want to tell me that America does not import things. Everything they use is made in America?
Literally, you don't have to take this out of context. No one can live on domestic products or imports alone that's why I said "How far are we going to go to not use foreign products". It's a beginning of a discussion.

hmm. if we continue living on foreign product . its only a matter of time, 1$ will soon be 10000#
You make a good point my man. I struggle with that concept. How far are we going to go to not use foreign products? The platform we use right now to converse is foreign!
It must start from the grass root, everyone trying to buy the newest thing from abroad and ignoring local products. InnoSon Cars vs Toyota/Honda/Benz. Majority would ignore Innoson. I wonder.

CareerRe: Is It Right To Say Thank You To Your Boss When Collecting Your Salary? by datGuyJoo: 6:50am On Feb 21, 2016
akanbiaa:
Saying thank you is a three way thing and depends on the employer
1. One employer will see it as a sign that you are underperforming and sees your salary as a gift not earned by hardwork but attendance marking.
2. Another will see it as being appreciative of the Employers effort and value it.
3. Yet another will see it as eye service.
Most logical thing I've read here. Nicely done
CareerRe: Is It Normal To Dream About Your Boss? by datGuyJoo: 6:18am On Feb 21, 2016
Normal to dream of my boss? Perfectly normal to dream of telling my boss off every chance I get. Even day dreams of putting glue on my boss's keyboard enter's my mind every day...hmmn

Haha, You use a capital B to spell boss. Are you scared of them? Your boss is not God so relax alittle.

KingsleyCEO:
If it's across the counter payment like paying you cash it's OK to say thank you, but if the reverse is the case then it's not too necessary.

But for me I close every transaction with a thank you whether I've earned it or not, that's me and not you. and I don't call it humility, just a natural configuration.
I agree. As an everyday normal thing to do and way to treat people, say please, thank you and you are welcome. Just on the premise that one is collecting a salary and the giver(employer) expects a thank you?! lol nope.

AS AN EMPLOYER OF LABOUR, ANY OF MY STAFFERS WHO FAILS TO SAY "THANK YOU" TO ME AT POINT OF CASH SALARY PAYMENT RISKS SACK. I EQUALLY THANK MY STAFF TOO. AS A MATTER OF FACT, MY WORKERS ARE PROPERLY TRAINED TO "THANK" THEIR CLIENTS AFTER TRANSACTION WHETHER SUCCESSFUL OR NOT. THOSE WHO CALL OR TEXT ME TO ACKNOWLEDGE RECEIPT OF BANK ALERTS ARE MY FAVOURITES AND I HOLD THEM IN HIGH ESTEEM. CASH AND OTHER MOTIVATIONS ARE USUALLY GIVEN TO SUCH EMPLOYEES FOR BEEN SO DISCIPLINED. IT IS NO BIG DEAL TO SAY THANK YOU TO YOUR BOSS FOR GIVEN YOU THE OPPORTUNITY TO RENDER YOUR SERVICES. REMEMBER IT IS AN ACT THAT IS RECIPROCATIVE!
And therein lies the problem. You will let a great employee go. Whom has worked all month long. Comes into work on time. Works overtime when asked to. Is courteous and respectful to you and everyone, because the employee did not say thank you for the money he/she earned.

Lord I'm glad I do not have some people as bosses lol.

Yes, because he has the power to HIRE and FIRE you.
And after all it is nice to say thank you to people who
put food on your table every day.
You worked for the money?! didnt you? or did you beg for it?

It's a culture thing. It's good manners to thank people. In the business world no one cares. You deliver, you get paid. No harm done. We get caught up in mixing culture with business. works sometime, not everywhere.
CareerRe: Is It Right To Say Thank You To Your Boss When Collecting Your Salary? by datGuyJoo: 5:18am On Feb 21, 2016
Do you still say thank you to your boss if they owe you 4 - 5 months worth of wages?! Or after your job is cut?!

That's real ego tripping for the boss to now think you will thank him as if he is doing you a favor by paying you what you have worked for and earned being given to you several months late.

Not thanking anyone for my money. Not going to be able to do it. I get paid for the services I have rendered. Not give appreciation for my place of work to pay me. It's not personal. It's business.

During tough times like the recession we are all facing now, does your work ask you before they cut your job and thank you after? Please start thinking with a different mindset. Not proud. Just self respect.

PhonesFacebook To Support Multiple Accounts by datGuyJoo(op): 7:50am On Feb 13, 2016
https://images.medicaldaily.com/sites/medicaldaily.com/files/styles/full_breakpoints_theme_medicaldaily_tablet_1x/public/2015/10/09/facebook.jpg

Facebook owned Instagram recently launched support for multiple accounts on the same device, which was widely appreciated by many. Now Facebook Messenger follows the footsteps as it will soon allow multiple accounts. Now users with multiple accounts will not need to log in and out over and again. New accounts can be added easily from Messenger app’s settings.

Facebook has always worked hard to bring new services for its Messenger app. Last year, it introduced new features that included Uber service, personal assistant, and ability to send money through Messenger.

Facebook now allows its Messenger users to send SMS, just like old times. It plans to release another feature soon for Messenger users to enable multiple accounts on a single device. For now, the social giant has tested the feature on Android only. iOS users may have to wait longer to avail the latest features.

PhonesRe: 1 In 7 People In The World Now Use Whatsapp by datGuyJoo(op): 9:32pm On Feb 03, 2016
WhatsApps original business plan was to charge for the service. Between $0.99 - $3.00 depending on what part of the world you are and what partnerships they had with mobile carriers.
Now they probably made a lot then because they had over 500 million users x $1.oo(minimum amount charged) x multiply by 3 years( 2013 when they introduced the charge) = a lot of KFC for life.

Since WhatsApp stopped charging, chances are they are targeting big corporations who have the money to pay for the huge user list ( 1 billion users+) and your phone numbers will be given to them to use to target their marketing towards you.
Example: Your bank asks you to check off a form that’s asks if you use WhatsApp and then they can send out mass marketing messages directed to you.

Remember. Nothing…. Is… free.. Ever.

Speaking on Google's Q4 2015 earnings call, CEO Sundar Pichai announced that at the end of 2015, Gmail had over one billion monthly active users. That's an absolutely massive number, but considering that we're talking about the scale of Google, it's actually the seventh product from the company to surpass that milestone.

The one billion monthly active user number is also shared by Google Search, Android, Google Maps, Chrome, YouTube and Google Play. Considering the synergies between these products it's not too surprising that Gmail finally made its way up to the top, especially since Google announced that the user figure was over 900 million as of Google I/O 2015.

Pichai also notes that the growth in active Gmail users is fueled particularly by mobile users, though we could've guessed that considering the absolutely massive number of Android phones in the wild.

My belief is Africa and India probably account for about 500 million of those users.
Open source and free works when done properly.

just wished some telecommunications company in Nigeria can just be like WhatsApp as in free,,,,but reverse is d case in pur country,, we still have to pay to use WhatsApp at least it ought to be like 25naira for a month,,,,, after all its now free.
Yeah, that sucks. WhatsApp is dropping their yearly fee and will be free for everyone soon, so hopefully it reflects on the telecom companies also. But chances are these companies won't drop their fees.

WhatsApp hit a major milestone yesterday with the company reporting a user base of over one billion. Just over a year ago, WhatsApp celebrated it's half-billion milestone so it seems the app has defied being the centre of an encryption debate, to see its user numbers soar regardless.

Not only has the company hit a target that means 1/7th of the world's entire population is using it, but it also recently announced it was going completely free, ditching its micro-subscription annual charge in the process.

In a recent blog post, WhatsApp revealed that it intends to keep focus on the core value of the business.

"WhatsApp began as a simple idea: ensuring that anyone could stay in touch with family and friends anywhere on the planet, without costs or gimmicks standing in the way."

I'm a fan of WhatsApp just for:
1. the convenience of not having to rack up data charges when travelling, using it over WiFi
2. not locked in to a particular service.
3. BBM works the same WhatsApp but honestly, it's made for blackberry and the experience on non BB devices is not the same.
