A Chinese university teacher shocked crowds of people when she put on a white wedding dressed and proposed to one of her students. The counsellor, who fell in love with the student who is 10 years younger, asked for her boyfriend's hand in marriage outside the boys’ dormitory of the Hunan University of Arts and Science.

The scene drew large crowds as thestudent, surnamed Sun, was asked to become the husband of the university staff member. The teacher, surnamed Hu, is said to have been in a relationship with the unnamed student, in his fourth year at university, for a number of months, after the two met in a class.

She is said to be divorced and 10 years older than her new fiance, who graduates in a few weeks’ time. Students at the university wished the pair well and posted pictures on social media platforms.

Christianity Etc › How To Make Dua That Improves Your Life (mostly On Fridays) by dauddy97(op): 7:57am On Nov 11, 2016
How to Make Dua That Improves Your Life

Do you want to improve your life?
Do you want to be a happier person?
Do you want the satisfaction of knowing the future is going to be better than the past?

Of course you do. We all want better lives. And the great thing is, we Muslims have a “secret” weapon to get this improved life. You know what I’m going to say.

It’s dua. Yes, our duas (supplication) can impact our lives immediately. Why? Because it’s direct communication with our Lord, Allah the Mighty and Majestic. So if you’re not happy with the way things are going in your life, I encourage you to turn to dua.

However, simply begging Allah to “give me this” and “give me that” may seem futile if not done correctly. Therefore, I’d like to list a few tidbits and ideas that will improve the way you make dua, and bring you closer to Allah.

Your Intention Must Be Good

While this may seem obvious, it may be worth noting that for our duas to be accepted, we should have good intentions. In other words, we shouldn’t make dua against someone else simply because they wronged us or have upset us.

We especially should be careful about making dua against our family members. Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) has said in an authentic hadith that Allah answers our prayers so long as we do not seek to break family ties.

Sometimes our family angers us and make us want to do and say evil things. When these things happen, it is important that we have patience and not ask Allah to curse them or bring some punishment upon them. Perhaps if we are merciful and forgiving to our family, Allah may be merciful and forgiving to us.

We should also refrain from asking Allah for forbidden things. We should not make dua for alcohol, or pork, or illegal sexual intercourse. Once again, all of this may seem obvious, but I believe it’s important enough to mention anyway.

Follow the Prophet’s Advice

Assuming that you’re asking for something good and halal (allowed in Islam), the next thing to keep in mind is to make dua the way the Prophet (peace be upon him) taught us how to make dua.

Please read this beautiful Hadith (tradition) from Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him):

The supplication of every one of His slaves will be granted so long as he does not get impatient and says “I supplicated my Lord again and again but I do not think my prayers will be answered.” (Bukhari and Muslim)

With this in mind, here is a short list of things you should make sure are in place when making dua:

==> Praise Allah – Whatever it is you want in life, you must still be thankful and grateful for what Allah has already given you. Allah rewards gratitude and punishes ingratitude. So before you before you begin asking Allah for a bunch of things, make sure you begin by thanking and praising Him.

==> Send Peace and Blessing upon the Messenger of Allah – After praising Allah, the next you should do is ask Allah to bless Prophet Muhammad. The Prophet was the best of creation. So ask Allah to bless him and earn a little rewards before asking for things for yourself.

==> Supplicate with emotion – Your duas shouldn’t be dry, formulaic, robotic acts of worship. Instead, ask Allah for what you want with determination, desire, and devotion. Pray to Allah with the earnestness He deserves. It’s even better if you can cry while making dua. And if you cannot cry, then make yourself cry.

==> Have patience – One thing that makes our duas get rejected by Allah is losing patience. A person may ask Allah for something, and they don’t get it in the timeframe they want. So they get impatient and say things like: “I made dua for this, and Allah did not give it to me.” This impatience makes us lose all the blessing of our dua.

==> Be specific – Don’t say things like “Oh Allah, you know what I want, please give it to me.” Allah IS all hearing and all knowing, but we should articulate the specific things we want Him to give us. Ask for it directly and don’t say things like “If You will” when speaking to Allah

some of final tip

There are many little things we can do to make our duas more impactful. Here are some brief pointers to keep in mind:

=> Pray for your parents when you make dua.
=> Pray for another Muslim in their absence without them knowing.
=> Make wudu before making dua.
=> Make dua when it’s raining.
=> Make dua in the last moments of daylight on Fridays.
Use authentic duas from the Quran and sunnah in Arabic (though it’s perfectly okay to make dua in your native tongue also).
=> Call upon Allah using the word “Rabbee (My Lord).”
=> Call upon Allah by His names (Ar-Rahman, Al-Ghafur, etc.)
=> Ask Allah based upon some good deed you’ve done in the past.

Inshallah, these ideas will help your duas become more meaningful and in turn, Allah will bless you with an improved life. May Allah accept all of your good supplications. Ameen!

Christianity Etc › Things To Do Every Friday For Jumu'ah by dauddy97(op): 7:22am On Nov 11, 2016
1. Cut Nails

2. Have a Ghusal & Wearing Perfume if available

3. Salaat al-Jumu’ah (Friday prayer)

4. Making lots of du’aa’. (between the time the Imam sits down until the time the prayer is over and after `Asr until sunset)

Dont MISS The Golden Opportunity !!

"There is a special hour on Friday, during which all prayers are accepted and answered by Allah, all Glory and Praise be to Him. This is part of the blessings that Allah has blessed this day with, over all the other days of the week."

It was narrated from Abu Hurraira that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) mentioned Friday and said: “On this day there is a time when no Muslim stands and prays, asking Allah for something, but Allah will grant him it” – and he gestured with his hands to indicate how short that time is. [Bukhari 893 Muslim, 852]

Ibn Al-Qayyim (rahimahullah) said as to the exact hour of Friday during which this occurs is after the Asr prayer until the Magrib prayer because of the following hadith: "Friday has twelve hours (or part to it). There is one hour during which if a Muslim asks Allah anything, Allah will give it to him, so find it during the last hour after Asr." {Abu Dawud & An-Nasai}

5. Reading Soorat al-Kahf

It was narrated from Abu Sa’eed al-Khduri that the Prophet (sallAllahu ályhi wasallam) said: “Whoever reads Soorat al-Kahf on Friday, he will be illuminated with light between the two Fridays.”
(Narrated by al-Haakim; classed as saheeh by al-Albaani)

6. Sending a lot of blessings upon the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him).

According to a hadith by the Prophet (SAW) that was narrated that Fadaalah ibn ‘Ubayd (RA), the Prophet (SAW) said: “ Whilst the Messenger of Allah (SAW) was sitting, a man came in and prayed and said, “O Allah, forgive me and have mercy on me.” The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said, “You have been too hasty, O worshipper. When you have prayed and are sitting, praise Allah as He deserves to be praised, and send blessings upon me , then call upon Him.” [Narrated by Al-Tirmidhi, 3476]

According to another version [3477] of the hadith, the Prophet (SAW) said: “ When one of you prays, let him start with praise of Allah, then let him send blessings upon the Prophet (SAW), then let him ask whatever he likes after that.” Then another man prayed after that, and he praised Allah and sent blessings upon the Prophet (SAW). The Prophet (SAW) said: “O worshipper, ask and you will be answered.” [Classed as Saheeh by Al-Albaani in Saheeh Al-Tirmidhi, 2765, 2767]

The Prophet (SAW) said: “ Every dua is kept back until you send blessings upon the Prophet (SAW).” [Narrated by Al-Tabaraani in Al-Awsat, 1/220; classed as Saheeh by Al-Albaani in Saheeh Al-Jaami’, 4399]

In Sunan al-Tirmidhi (2381) it is narrated that Ubayy (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I said: O Messenger of Allah, I send a great deal of blessings upon you. How much of my du’aa’ should I make for you? He said: “Whatever you wish.” I said: One-quarter? He said: “Whatever you wish, but if you do more it will be better for you.” I said: One half? He said: “Whatever you wish, but if you do more it will be better for you.” I said: Two-thirds? He said: “Whatever you wish, but if you do more it will be better for you.” I said: I will make all my du’aa’ for you. He said: “Then your worries will be taken care of and your sins will be forgiven.” [Classed as hasan by al-Albaani in Saheeh Sunan al-Tirmidhi.]

According to another hadith from ‘Umar ibn Al-Khattaab (RA), the Prophet (SAW) said: “ Dua is suspended between heaven and earth and none of it is taken up until you send blessings upon your Prophet (SAW).” [Ibn Katheer said: Its isnaad is jayyid. It was classed as hasan by Al-Albaani in Saheeh Al-Tirmidhi, 486]

Note: Saying / Greeting / Congratulation to each other ‘Jummu’ah Mubarak is also a blessings.

First storey building in Nigeria. This building should have been giving the utmost care and attention by Nigeria.Every school kid should have at one time or the other gone to this place as a pilgrimage. But things like that do not happen in Nigeria.Great shame.

Badagryserves as home to historical landmarks in Nigeria as well as being a major hub of transatlantic slave trade in West Africa. The early missionaries in Nigeria landed in Badagry and pioneered Christianity, western education and mechanized agriculture in the country. Their contribution to civilization in Nigeria is still evident in some of parts of Badagry such as the first-storey building. Invited by the first missionary in Nigeria, Birch Freeman,Rev. Henry Townsendlaid the foundation of the first-ever storey building in Nigeria in 1842 but the building was finally completed in 1845 byRev. C.A Gollmer.Overlooking the Marina waterfront, this historical building houses some of the items used by the early missionaries such as the Bible and others.

Despite the claims that storey buildings were already built in the Northern side of the country before the arrival of the missionaries, the first documented storey building in Nigeria is in Badagry and it holds many historical relics such as the building materials used in constructing the house itself.Found in the labourer’s room are the corrugated iron sheets and the nails used in the roofing of the building. The doors and hinges are still the same and appear to have stood the test of time more than what is obtainable in the market today.
