bidex111: If money was everything as you guys claimed.... Why didn't US government didn't sell us military equipment worth over $344.7m during Obama regime. I think it as to be more of regional power-play and politics. Because the money is small. When your mates like Egypt, UAE, Saudi, Chile and India typically make minimum order of US$ 1 billion for new weapons systems, you are coming to disturb them with US$600 million for Tucano. On top corruption. And after the whole country has fought about and given their opinion on the expenditure. Of course they will run. Like nemesis said, rules are hoes!! Besides, IMO Obama had a twisted hatred for Nigeria. So that played it's role too. |

Xbee007: I agree with some parts of your argument.
Right now the terrorists are winning the war in the NE. Over 90% of their attacks on NA bases have been successful. In fact, Nigerian Army has now, inadvertently, become their largest supplier of weapons and ammunition. Most of the trucks that were bought from Innoson have fallen into the hands of the terrorists. Beryl assault rifle, the standard issue of our SF have found their ways into the hands of the outlawed group. Some of our advance sniper rifle have been seen in the terrorists propaganda videos. The terrorists now believe that God is really behind them which is why their campaign has been largely successful. Many closet fanatic Northerners have now moved beyond salivating to the terror group propaganda videos to joining them. Indeed Nigeria is in a huge mess.
The situation is made more dire because many Nigerians don't know what is going on. The press has been successful gagged and any reporter who dare discuss the fact in the NE will be labelled an enemy of the state and a terrorist sympathizer. Worse still the Commander in Chief is clueless about the current state of affairs. He has been regurgitating the same old nonsense for the past four years, "Boko Haram has been technically defeated."
What about the human cost of this war? Within the space of a year NA has lost almost more soldiers than it did during Jonathan era. The situation at the battle front is worsening by the day. Our troops' lives have become worthless. Buratai is now so used to hearing news of dozens of dead soldiers that the death of ten soldiers in a single attack is not calamitous to him. Remember the death of four US soldiers in Niger that happened almost two years ago? New York Times is still writing article about it.That is a country that value human life.
More so, the intermittent airstrike from NAF has been rendered ineffective by the terrorists since they now fully understand the patterns of the airstrike.
If the average Nigerians realize the true extent of this war, they would wake up every day cursing the generation of Buratai and Buhari. Buratai for lying to senile Buhari and Buhari for not looking beyond his personal relationship with the Chief and seeing the reality.
Left to me, I would say we should pay Russia to help us nuke the entire Sambisa and Lake Chad. Let us start afresh.
There is a saying, "if things could go wrong, it will go wrong." It behoves on us to stop this calamity because it will get out of control if we don't. Preach, Pastor, preach! If they have ears/eyes, they will hear/read |

Home of the agressors in yola is a pure AFB,SOF portharcourt is a pure AFB.we do have more than one AFB in a state some in civilian airports.just like in warri here where I live You are correct brother man. My misunderstanding with him is as to whether it is normal for AFBs to co-locate with airports or not. |

jln115: Don't understand what your saying? Why would they need to co-locate with civilian facilities, if they have their own? Example of what I mean. Nigeria has Makurdi, Lagos and Abuja AFBs in the civil airports in those cities. Kainji is a pure AFB, military only. Basically, governments usually find it cheaper to co-locate especially in bigger cities. Hope I am clear now. |

bidexiii: The so called Islamic State West African Province(ISWAP) admits to the neutralization of 9 key Media Personalities by Gallant Troops of the Nigerian Army(NA)
The terrorist group is known for its online media propaganda and quest to maintain a virtual caliphate.
The annihilation of members of its media team further confirms that the NA has decimated the group and they no longer have freedom of action.
The pictures and names of the dead terrorists is below:
Abu Hurayra al-Barnawi. Ali al-Ghalam al-Kajiri. Abu Musab Muhammed Mustafa al-Maiduguri. Abu Abdullah Ali al-Barnawi Abu Musa al-Camerooni. Ahmed al-Muhajir. Abu Ali al-Bamawi. jln115: Not true!
These are South African Air force bases and are strictly for Military use only....
AFB Langebaanweg AFB Waterkloof AFB Bloemspruit AFB Durban AFB Hoedspruit AFB Makhado AFB Overberg AFB Swartkop AFB Port Elizabeth AFB Ysterplaat
....Even Nigeria has Air Force bases that are strictly for military use, Air forces only use civilian Air ports in certain/limited instances. Maybe you misunderstood me, but my point is no country has military AFBs only all the way. A few must always co-locate with civilian facilities |

Travel › Air Peace Loses Communications Manager To Motor Accident by DaV8King(op): 11:07pm On Jun 09, 2019 |
Tragedy struck at Nigeria and West Africa's largest airline, Air Peace on Friday, 07 June 2019 with the untimely demise of it's Communications Manager, Mr Chris Iwarah. The cold hands of death snatched the media professional away along the Lagos- Ibadan Expressway where he had stopped to fix his car. Having parked at Mangoro bus stop, a bus whose driver had lost control rammed into him and his vehicle at high speed, killing him instantly. The former journalist and trained lawyer worked for the Sun Newspapers, before moving over to Air Peace as the airline's pioneer Communications Manager. The airline obviously has not confirmed the incident seeing as Mr Iwarah was their Communications Manager, but the sad news has been confirmed by the Sun. May he Rest in Perfect Peace. MiddleDimension: i am wondering...is it standard around the world that militaries use the airport of civilians, ir they have their own airfields? i think they should have their own air fields Standard practice in most countries. Only few, if any countries have 100% pure airbases. Even the almighty USA has a number of airports that serve dual role as AFBs. |
