Ur best bet is to install WAMP (windows,apache,mysql.php/perl/python).it doesnt need any config.with it,ur pc becomes a full webserver but if u want to host ur own server, (i mean it,not in Nigeria sha) and when u're now perfect,then install php,apache server,mysql separately for more configurations.google for wampserver its approx 15MB.then u can write your php scripts and test then on ur system offline.post problems if u fall into any.its damn easy tho.

Surveycash,hope u know the highest theoretical speed of usb 2.0 for data transfer is 480mbps(or 60mBps) (1Byte= 8bits hence the big B and small b).k?Usb modem cant use
upto that max speed because of standardisations.

Pls o, Ppl lets google for what a gateway is,starcomms is still in charge of ur network layer, hence its imposse to get a higher speed than ur networks' except na special arrange AND a different hardware nd not ur usb modem.

Google shud be our best frnd.,For a usb modem,the speed is 115kbps or 420kbps or 921kbps or for highend modems its,3.6mbps or 7.2mbps or 14.4mbps.That's not implyin that i'm not optimistic 4 better speeds,the world is growin everyday but thats why usb 2.0 will soon give way to usb 3.0.so,lets STOP hopin for better speeds on our usb modem.Best is 921kbps on a STANDARD fone usb modem. Or upto 14Mbps for dedicated usb modems or highend fones.even my nokia 3.5g hsdpa fone of 3.6Mbps will connect to my pc at a max speed of 921kBs, therefore my max browsin speed ever on d fone if used as a modem will be 3.6mbps/8=450kBps.

btw the fastest normal pc connection to a network is the gigabit lan of 1gbps as of aug 2009(or correct me, since we re dynamic).even if ur isp provides 80gbps,which pc will utilize all of that speed?

Gettit straight ppl, ur pc can only get upto 1gbps unless u want to install sun sparc servers in ur room.

creating a forum isnt difficult.U might just need to be grounded in PHP5,know a lil bout MYSQL for your databases, and then get forum scripts using google.
IPB,VBULLETIN,PHPBB and SMF to me are the best forum scripts.Our great Nairaland was built with SMF.
Building it isnt a problem, whats d problem is what the forum should contain.

Alright Igho, i'll go inside campus 2 morrow 2 check for U.btw, their 1st semester officially starts 2morrow and new students that havent started clearance, are in 4 a terrific rush.Actually, i stay in Abraka nd school in Benin thats why i know bout d school.

ISLT-institute of science laboratory techn, Is a programme dat delsu runs that is is like a regular degree programme, but its not.Its 5yrs for its Bsc equivalent (eg chemistry-bsc is 4yrs but 'chemistry-technology' is 5yrs)note the technology suffix.Most of their programmes arent fully accredited, and they dont go for nysc-Note.They are also treated differently from other bsc regular students.Probably its because the method of admission is a written exam different from PostUME, so its like its for people that didnt pass PUME or didnt write PUME.Its also unfair that their fees are very high even when they are unaccredited.If u like the school and didnt get adm, Islt is an option, it was made for that purpose?no.But they re highly looked down on unnecessarily.Delsu and their unaccreditation probs is kilin.I left their medical college 2 Uniben cos of possible hiccups resulting from accreditation.

Guys,instead of trying to ground glo (a full naija product)like mtn(its allowed) advocate cheap browsing guys.
I see every body trying to browse free, if you do, try to do a crash networking couse and learn to analyse packets.It sounds somehow, but guys with REAL ccnp knowledge should be able to do some analysis and check/open ports
and not waiting for some one to give u info on free browsing.

u can activate ip routing on ur windows xp by registry editing by following the ff steps
Open up the Registry editor by clicking Start - Run and type regedit
Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters . Here you'll have to change the value of 'IPEnableRouter' from 0 to 1. (If there is no such element, select Edit|New|doubleword value or DWORD value. Enter the name 'IPEnableRouter' (without quotes, take care for capital letters) and a single 1 in the value field.) Reboot your machine to apply the settings.Post ur results.

yes doublen is right,some viruses delete ur system files and thats why u may need to reinstall ur os

by the way, yahoo blocked their free accounts from using outlook express,though u can work this around
by using a small client called ypops.u'll install it nd let it run in the background.google for it.

why switch to vista,cos 3-4 yrs from now we'll all eventually switch to vista exept for low end pcs .Though i admit vista is crap.

please i got 66 and put in for med & sugr and was "granted admission".Is this really the final result.cos last yr i got medicine and after checking adm status with the 250naira scratch card was given biology which i had 2 reject cos i had my choice course in delsu.Will d scratch card not be sold this year too.I hope not.please i need a reply.
