Uchenna is pacy than Onumonu. But on two occasions, Onumonu was alone with the ball facing Estelle and no one ran towards her to get a free pass. That's bad. Very bad.

They concentrated focus on Ajibade's wing leaving Ordega's wing open. This game might be won by setpiece. The Cameroon ladies are showing their physical side. I see Ajibade, Onumonu and Ayinde panting. Ucheibe is doing well. Okobi should getat from those Setpieces abeg. Chai Alozie!!
The Cam keeper is absolutely flushed and scared. We are too except at the back. Theirs arent. We need to make this count asap

Who knows, we may face a Euro team next year
We've been facing two European teams in almost all of the WC we've gone to. This USA match is good, but the ladies need to know how to fare vs european teams with their game philosophy. Norway and Germany do us shege in 2019.

HAZEL NALI, GIVE HER THE CROWN

Saved a penalty and stepped up to score the decisive penalty for the copper queens of Zambia to seal their first ever WAFCON semifinal and FIFA world cup qualification.

A heroic moment for the brave Zambian lady!
She was very short and yet... Female Courtois no try reach her. Inspiring team. South Africa go hearam(if they qualify sha)

The Senegalese team could easily make for a basketball team. It "appears" the person who scouted those players had height as one of the most important attribute the players should have.

The paradox though is that they were terrible with defending long balls. When Zambia realized this it became their go to strategy.
This noticing leaks and loops in opponents defence and attacking it, we never use am as far as i noticed. We stick to game plan mostly.

Yesternight, when the Moroccans noticed the LB of Botswana was missing, they began to pass through there for the most of the last 25mins.

Botswana kinda remind me of the Mali team of 2018... They played some good football, but they weren't physically strong enough.. I was expecting them to get better.. unfortunately they missed out on this edition..

If CAF should continue with this zoning qualification format, it's likely we see the likes.pd Botswana and Burundi again while teams like Mali may not make it...
I learnt most of the ladies were picked from the military, thus the crew cut most of them had, i think. Their setpiece game was good. Then their star player, Refilwe Thokakele no get better middle behind her. She's a good attacker.

This zoning thing just dey taya person.

The whole SA is praying for Nigeria not to get to the final. Our team is actually building a momentum and if we go to the final, it will be hard to stop us.

Cameroon is not as strong as 2016 or 2018. Neither are we, solely based on the tactical lag with this coach.
I still believe the coach is doing ok, he's learning and I hope he sticks with Ucheibe against Chikwelu. That midfield is key tomorrow.
Based on how it's everywhere that the coach really wants to go to the WC, then i believe they'll edge through. The WC is more the trophy to Nigeria right now to the coach, while most Nigerians want la Decima.

That midfield is truly key.

If Cameroon wants to park the bus, it's not going to be new to the ladies.

Bro...I fear their wing play to be honest. The only consolation is that we have good wingers and good midfielders. The wingers will stretch their FB and the midfielders will open up their Midfield. But this laser thing and home crowd ehn.... Chai
That's just it. Cos its either their opponents tonight just allowed them flow or Morocco are that good. Their captain(Botswana) was doing the job of three defenders tonight. Lb, CB and Rb.

It's shameful that CAF keep allowing these North African teams to keep doing this... It's even more shameful that they are using it against women...

When Senegal did the same against Egypt during the world cup qualifiers, the Egyptian FA were quick to cry to CAF...

This Morocco team is well coached,to be honest... They just don't have enough good players...

Botswana are just using pace and long ball tactics...
Botswana no even come out sef. Just back back game. Its evident lots of work was put into these girls learning the basics. Their movement is sharp but their defence no sabi. Two defenders pick up yellow cards. But well deserved victory. Stadium full!!

Morocco playing a 451 when defending but the 5 aren't doing nothing to choke the midfield. Wingplay is their life, plus passes into spaces. They'll meet the winner of NGA vs CAM. Either team will punish Morocco.

Bro, let's be honest with ourselves. Do you think we are really getting better?
At all. If we don't return to getting better at the basics, talent wont be enough

Understanding each other on the field of play
Setpieces and dummies
Passing accuracy
Shots both in tight and open spaces
Speed and opening up for passes
One-twos
Selfless in the box

These can be overlooked for wafcon level, but at the grandest of stages, embarrassment is waiting.

That last world cup, if you watch the highlights of all the African reps, e go pain you. Cameroon did well in 2019 mehn. Onguene and Ajara. The silly mistakes, the lack of communication, the mistimed passes and the Setpieces.

Almost all the big teams conceded from a setpiece. Teams no one gave a chance scored from there. And then there is Rapinoe, doing like she is invisible but still biggest contributor by far. We scored 2goals, sorry 1. I pray we score 5this time in group stages. Can't be going there to be scoring just 2goals or less. Disaster.

Shortie sends Zambia to the World Cup. Tallie try. Na those Diakhate babes fall her hand. Zambia are very impressive since day 1. This extra time makes one appreciate how the Super Falcons are the best in endurance so far. Zambia have now shown they can too. Banda is the happiest. The Zambia dressing room will be full of Mercy Chinwo songs tonight. cheesy

Bros, Cameroon isn’t Burundi. Did you watch her against South Africa?

Football get class. Anyone can shine when you play against mediocre opponents.

O pari
I won't agree with you that Ashleigh is stronger than Ohale. I pick her cos she offers what Ashleigh may not offer from a defensive position. Ohale doesn't need to go forward to make any attack. Ashleigh loves to go follow but recovery is the ish, especially when nobody covers. So, slightly, Ohale starts. All these doesn't mean she doesn't fall hand o. I was here criticizing her vs SA very well.

LOL. For me, that’s the easiest decision in the world:
- drop Ohale and play Ash in CB.

O pari
With what Ohale played against Burundi, Randy will stick with her. Ashleigh can come on later. If nothing works vs Cameroun, at least Ohale long balls will work.

Schemerkhiz:
One major issue facing Waldrum on Thursday is what to do with Ashleigh Plumptre.

1. Drop either of Onome Ebi or Osinachi Ohale for her

2. Play 3 center back of Ohale, Ebi and Plumptre

3. Play Plumptre as left back and drop impressive Toni Payne or push her forward

4. Pushing Payne forward means Ordega is dropped (which I doubt) or Ajibade goes to the midfield

5. Ajibade to the midfield means one of Okobi, Rita (shouldn't be starting again),

This is a major decision which will influence a lot of changes and will be key against a fast, and physical Cameroon come Thursday.

What do you think guys?

#WAFCON2022
#superfalcons
4&5 is less likely again, compared to the others. Ajibade in midfield is not going to be helpful, especially vs Cameroun. It's not bad if Ashleigh comes on as a sub iMO.
