Deltamani: CAF PRESIDENT PATRICE MOTSEPE DOESN'T KNOW WHY BARBRA BANDA HAS BEEN BARRED FROM THE TOURNAMENT.
Patrice Motsepe has expres BBBsed ignorance over the exclusion of Barbra Banda on "medical reasons" or "gender eligibility reasons" from the tournament.
This happened at the official CAF President Press Conference a few moments ago.
A female BBC Africa journalist asked why a woman that had been allowed to compete in FIFA fixtures and was cleared by The International Olympic Committee to play in Tokyo was now suddenly ineligible.
Neither Motsepe or his press officer seemed to know or have information on the matter.
It is weird that Motsepe doesn't know why the Women’s African Cup tournament is without one of its stars.
Baba just increase prizes and face front, feeling like he's done enough for women's football. Smh
Zambia impressed cos i didn't expect they'll frustrate cameroun. Their Tembo defender was awesome until she got injured. Several times, the Overlapping of the Cameroon defense failed to stop or recover. Zambia never capitalized. A team like SA or Morocco for don score 3. That Cam lady in jersey number 6 is very good.
Schemerkhiz: Going to the AWCON we have got the best Defense line, teams like Cameroon, Zambia, Senegal and Burkina Faso should be the one's u're supposed to mentioned first...
The errors they make is why i still put us in the mix. Asides that, none are close to us in defending.
I have to commend the outstanding level of Setpieces skills by the Moroccans. Naaah. They will be in the semis cos of this alone, adding host pedigree again.
Mrabet is a player I'm looking out for this time.
Who noticed the precision of their crosses? I give that to them. The Burkinabes were energetic but no match tactically. I believe the falcons will show a better pedigree this time. Especially in setpieces. We need to be burying freekicks by now, easily.
Deltamani: CAF Announce Use Of Video Assistant Referee (VAR) In Women's Awcon July 02, 2022
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced that Video Assistant Referee (VAR) will be used in all matches of the 2022 African Women Cup of Nations (AWCON) in Morocco that kick-off today (Saturday).
Twelve teams including Nigeria's Super Falcons are already in Morocco for the 12th edition of the competition.
Caf director of Referees, Eddy Mailet who made the announcement said it's a bold step in the right direction.
"This is a bold step in the right direction. As women’s football is growing in Africa, it is important that Africa adopt the latest trends and technology to enhance the game."
"Africa has some of the best match officials in Africa in Morocco and training and development of them is key for us."
Four female match officials, Salima Mukasanga of Rwanda, Carine Atemzabong of Cameroon and Fatiha Jermoumi, and Bouchra Karboubi from Morocco, were part of the list of match officials at the 2021 AFCON in Cameroon and did an amazing job.
He also said that by using VAR they are looking to continue the progress and development of CAF women's football
"By using VAR for all matches at WAFCON we are looking to continue the progression and development of the standard of CAF women’s football,‘’ he concluded .
If na this one, our defenders no go escape o. Normally they do some tackles or fouls that refs don't see. But this var will work against the likes of Cameroon and CIV. Mehn they are very rough with the tackles and silly fouls.
AkinDS: Thinking out loud here... The key to besting the SA team is neutralizing their midfield. That seems to be their strongest suite and where their plays originate from. If Randy is able to do this, by flooding the midfield with 5 players, it would help make the game a lot easier for us. Specifically, playing a 3-5-2 formation will help us accomplish this. He can start off with this formation and then switch up, as the game progresses and as Ellis adjusts her strategy also. My suggested starting lineup will be the following:
**looks like Nnadozie might be on suspension due to yellow card accumulation (vs. Ghana and Ivory Coast, per Coach Randy). We do have the luxury of an extremely deep enough bench to alter the game as we please.
This may work, but we need speed in that middle as well. Wingback system will be very effective against Bayana girls.
Schemerkhiz: If you watch the Banyana Banyana of South Africa game against the Netherland few months ago you would know very well that they only stand a slight chance against the Superfalcons right now...
Their Left Back position is another weakness they have, Coach Desiree Ellis will have to move Ramalepe who can play on either side of the fullback from the right back to left to save their Ass, if not whosoever that would be playing there will definitely have it tough against our forward...If you watch the Banyana Banyana of South Africa game against the Netherland few months ago you would know very well that they only stand a slight chance against the Superfalcons right now...

Who is our best left winger for now? I've observed most of our attack has been centre and right.
The social media activity on individual accounts is tooo low. Way too low. I discovered many of the Wafcon debutants have not posted one pic of them in GWG. Wassuping?
Schemerkhiz: For those that didn't have the chance to watch the Friendly game between the Atlas Lionesses of Morocco and Cote's D' Ivoire. Here's a better highlight that can give you an hint about what they can offer...
Katie Mrabet is their best defender. #21. Both teams are rusty on attack that falcons team B will easily beat them square. I didn't like the rough play though. But MaR are better organized in play than CIV. Both go collect 5goal if Onumonu catch them.
lovewins: See, the problem with the league isn't the actors per se, it's the regulators. The actors (fans and team officials) only display despicable conducts because they know the regulators do not have the cajones to take strong decisions.
It doesn't take rocket science to bring sanity to the League. Just have strict penalties for conducts like this and you'll see it stop almost immediately.
For instance, whenever fans disrupt a game without incidence, let the team play behind closed doors for half season. If with incidence, deduct points and ban the team to another location for half the season, have them play behind close doors all through the season. Officials who beat up referees should be banned from the NPFL for life. You just have to read them the riot act and follow through with them and you'll see changes.
I doubt its just regulator issues. Those players too still act unprofessional. It took dragging for that jet li to come online, create a new twitter account and apologize to all fans. Why. That clip has reached Europe with his name on it. Imagine!!!
NUPL
U for Unprofessional
As for L, League no fit again. Maybe List.
Fear and Regard for Rules needs not just a panel or regulators, but cohesion and associations enforcing all and making pledges to never be.
Those fans also have a mind of their own too. The club may be sane but the fans may be opposite.
Weah in Liberia Drogba in CIV Cisse in Mali Eto and Song in Cameroun Kalusha in Zambia Mane in Senegal Aristide Bance in Burkina Faso
Sportilitica: Just read of a match of the NPFL where 36 extra minutes was awarded for injury and it was withing this period that the home team scored. Whether it is an isolated incident or not, this is really painting the league in a very bad light. This is really sad
The league has always been a picasso artwork of the bad light. That's it's color.
Nobody is secure or safe. They just tushed up jerseys, nothing remarkable to show progress. I can bet that if they pump over $100m into the league, the character and despicable acts will not change. It's a mentality problem.
That game shows that the NPFL and lmc aren't in control at all. They aren't ready to move forward with the right moves. Club owners and players can't even start a campaign against violence and insubordination.
Its the air they breath. Why should a ref still be afraid in this 2022 year? Where are the rules and protocols to make defaulters fear and set their houses in order? Virtually none. Very shameful.
I can bet you that if not for bascovanveli, this league won't look attractive to me. See what shooting stars did weeks back.
See rumors of mfm angry at sunshine for now helping them avoid relegation like they helped sunshine seasons back.
A Shameful Circus House.
And the Paint is the bad paint. No one else wan repaint am. For now!!
lovewins: This is obviously be the last WAFCON for Onome Ebi and the world cup will likely be her last stint with the team.
I however hope this nations cup with be the last time we see Rita Chikwelu in the team. Unlike Onome who still bring the needed leadership at the back, Rita has really declined. I cringe whenever I get to watch her play.
Hoping she leaves when the ovation is loudest before she's pushed out of the team.
The Ahmed Musa of the senior team. I'm still unsure if we got her replacement yet. Glad to see Yewande make the team. Cameroun friendly with France kinda lively. Southies are also stepping up. I hope we show who exactly are the bosses. We don't want another heartbreak from senior team. They better don't dull.
Danielnino00: Bascovanveli, do u have highlights of Kano Pillars vs Dakkada game played this evening? I read from the match report that Dakkada sckred a last minute goal which was cancelled after the referee "consulted" with his linesmen.. It seems like the powers that be don't want Pillars to be relegated... Ever since they were banned from Sani Abacha stadium, their true colour has been displayed for all to see......
Club owners don suspect the surajo guy. That Linesman feared for his life thus the change of decisions, which is all still within the frames of terror and human error, this time, deliberate. Its time to take such powers away from the refs with var. Clean and sweet goal turn offside cos dem give am Brock Lesnar for head. The rules of where to stand during a match too needs be enforced. So disorganized mehn. Very pissed.
The zoning is just caf indirectly embarrassing African football. Weak teams will see luck and have no pedigree to leave the group stages at the big stage, people will even forgetthe qualifiers was such a rough, long ride. If they think this is development, then they are foolish and naive. It's no west African fault that they carry this thing for head.
Now the best teams are competing for two slots while other carpentry teams are gladly going to be given a life line to further embarrass the continent. They should continue.
Ghana, CIV, Burkina, etc will beat other zones black and blue. That's what Caf is afraid of. Smh. Unfair!!
