We've had success and it's embedded in our history. Both are undeniable. You may not like it, neither do I, but it's there. It's fact. Arsenal has never been an all star studded team. The only times we succeeded were when we were The Arsenal. Leave the past alone, leave Wenger alone. The present is here, Arteta is here.
Forget about new era or millennia bullshits. Do what works for you not what works for others. Since we started going for names we haven't achieved much.
We go for what's functional not what's aunctional. Any player that can function is OK by me, puke his name. I want his game not his fame.
That's why i said we don't seem competitve again. Thats the past. Who cares? Yeah.

Nobody cares

There is retrogression.

Abeg which big name we sign?

Auba, Laca?

Who else?

Alk the big names have made a big difference. We know what its like without them in this current campaign.

That asides, the stupid way great performers are made to go.... Arggghhh. Thats a big sign there aren't ready for adaptation.

They'll become Norwich in no time, unless they pull back that anger, passion to conpete.

Man city fixture is days away. More than half dont even think we'll win!!!

We need great signings. At least to close up that stupid leaky back.

These are days i don't like remembering.

What's the difference? The arrival of attacking firepower and stability in the centre.

Its been tampered wity again as Ransey is out... Plus this defence. We wantu return to europe and na mustafi, Sokratis we wan use reach there? Isokay.

But these are the kind of signings Arsenal has always been associated with. These signings are part of our history and success.
Definitely History, but not Success.

Its shameful that Sir Wenger introduced a nee style of football at the tip of the new millennium, and to change and adapt to New styles is a big p.

Enough of these "next of kin" signings.

If we continue like this, Wolves will take our place. They are more sensible and success driven. And consistent in getting it. Our owners are a big p.

Partey and Coutinho if signed, will restore the pride of North London. Then thry can get defenders that dont allow goals to get in every 4 or 5 matches. Its not rocket science. Its simple.

Betting world knows Arsenal is now a "goal-goal" team. That's predictability. It should stop.

See our GD alone. Shameful.

NPIFL secure N200m sponsorship deal for league
June 2, 2020 Editorial IV Sports 0

No fewer than 10 Nigerian private clubs have concluded plans to start a separate private league christened, Nigeria Private Investors Football League (NPIFL).

The NPIFL, which will consist of only private owned football clubs on Tuesday announced N200 million sponsorship.

The league organising body on Monday also set up five-man committee whose primary duty is to register the league and get approval from authority ahead of the kick off scheduled for this year.

“The temporary five-man committee headed by Proprietor, Remo Stars, Kunle Soname has been set up to make sure that they get the league registered and get approval from the authority,” sources said.

“When this is achieved, other private clubs who are willing to join can then register to participate in the NPIFL where every match will be live streamed and shown live on TV.

Proprietor of Kaduna-based Nigeria National League side, Kada City Football Club, Ekene Adams, while reacting to why a separate league from the leagues organised by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), the ‘youngest club owner’ said that the initiative was borne out of the how NFF is running Nigeria Football which add no financial value to private club owners adding that private clubs are the ones recognised by FIFA.

“We are not happy with the way the private club owners are been treated like an outcast. We sat down to seek the way forward for Nigerian football because there is nothing to write home about in the league. We then decided to invest in our own private league which will commence soon. Ekene Adams added.

“As we speak football clubs like; Dynamite Force of Benin, MFM FC Lagos, Oyah Sports Surja, Remo Stars Ogun State, Kada City of Kaduna, Go-Round FC and host of others have already registered for the independent league.

“The registered clubs will compete for the N200m prize money drawn from South-South, South-West, South-East, North-Central, North-West, and North-East.

“The TV stations and sponsors are already on ground waiting for the approval from the authority before setting the ball rolling.

“We don’t have any problem with anyone; in fact, we work hand-in-hand with the NFF. The private clubs owners are the real investors,” he concluded.

The champions in the first season will smile home with N100 million prize while the runners-up and 3rd position pocket N60 and N40 million respectively.

The champions, runners-up will not engage in any CAF inter-club competitions.

I support this.

No matter the so called number of times they insult the innocent word called "re-branding", the NPFL keeps looking like nothing new. Its not profit driven.

I hope Ifeanyi and Kunle ensure the Home Win Syndrome isnt given First Class ticket to this new league. I hate that thing like..... Home advantage ko.

Iheanacho placed on special drill ahead of Premier league return

Iheanacho placed on special drill ahead of Premier league return

Super Eagles forward, Kelechi Iheanacho has reportedly been placed on a special drill by his club Leicester City in order to help him get back to fitness before the restart of the Premier league.

Iheanacho returned from the coronavirus break looking overweight a few days ago and the club has now reportedly ordered to get back to shape before the restart of the Premier league.

The former Manchester City is expected to undergo a special drill and could also train away from the rest of the squad in order to regain his sharpness.

“His routine is different. He clearly needs some extra sessions to get back to shape. The good thing is that he is putting in work to return to the best shape possible. All things being equal he should be fit and ready for the premier league restart.” The source from the club said.

Iheanacho has scored eight goals for the Foxes this season before the league was suspended as the result of the coronavirus pandemic.

Meanwhile, the English Premier is expected to return June 17 and all are expected to hold behind the closed doors.

"Papilo [Kanu] you know is so crafty. When I watched the game later, I saw the way he positioned his body before he played the pass, he confused the defenders, they were thinking he was going to play left," Utaka said on Instagram Live.

"I knew what he was going to do, so immediately I wasn't even waiting, I started going. Against Angola away he did the same thing, that was years after.

"Whenever I see him positioning himself I'll go because I know he will drop the pass. When I got that ball I said the only thing I can do is not to waste time because the goalkeeper will close down the more I waste time.

"I was looking right but I knew I was going to play left, he got a slight touch on the ball.

"I needed to drag him to the right so that I can confuse him because the goalkeeper is huge as well. I said if I take one more touch, he will close down on me so I said let me release the ball first time. "

Utaka on Kanu Nwankwo.

There is far more to offensive play from a striker than goals. Watch the clip below and look at the split decisions, the dropping deep to build play, covering multiple offensive positions and how Kanu brought the other offensive players into the game. Finally, watch his gifted techniques on the ball.

good technique. But id prefer Yekini. I need an all out 9. Kanu can't be that. He's a good team player, not a finisher.

I'll settle with Yekini.

Mikel Mikel Mikel. That was hard o. Well the pairing of both he and Oliseh is gonna be huge and impenetrable to me. The defence looks okay with or without the two combined. The def will need one of them. Just that Mikel will be more disciplined to cover up the weakness of JJ if he lose the ball. But again... Oliseh and rocket shots....

My take is that there is more appreciation of the modern game and the required technical and tactical capabilities of forwards today. Something I did not see in high capacity in Yekini.

Kanu's ability to drop deep and pull some def skills puts him ahead there. Kanu also worked with Van Gaal and Wenger, so tactically, he has to be ahead. Kanu was also a good passer of the ball and good create chances for players in offensive positions. So Yekini off.

Okocha moves to the centre but plays a bit more offensively, working with cerebral Amunike and Finidi.

Yobo played more central, even though he played at the sides some games. I will take a natural due to the the requirement of offensive contributions. Also dealing with tricky wingers.

Finally Uche goes, giving way to two defenders with high technical and tactical plays. Keshi and Taribo. Taribo as a young player dreamed and worked towards being better than Keshi. So their pairing would work well. Also, Taribo worked with Coach Monday Sinclair of Sharks FC.

Babayaro takes the left. Heck, worked with Ruud Gullit and his longevity at Chelsea.

Finito.
Wow. Kanu as preferred 9? I was thinking you'd drop Amunike instead. Well Babayaro does fit well. That attacking midfield na war o. With two beasts behind them again.
