OHOnairaland:
You sound so convincing and logical that you will confuse others. I think we should not use our logical mind to condemn what God has not expressly condemned. Do not add to the laws.
Did you read where I said that God took his altar very serious? Is that not clear enough to you. God was very express with His altar that why the fellows aka High Priests that always entered there has to be consecrated for some period of time before he enters there. Why would the most senior pastor need to be separated and confessing his own secret sins and asking for forgiveness if he was that holy?

After that, he now enters the place and starts interceding for millions of souls calling them tribe by tribe. each morning, he has to shake his leg so that the rope watcher would confirm he was still alive. Please why is that necessary if God doesn't take his altar serious?

The Priests had to use this method cos they know that only God knows the heart of man.

That's way back in Old Testament times, but why would God want to show priests that he needs to be feared that much? These are all in the scriptures.

Man may decide to do anyhow anyway, But Yahweh just wanted that fact to remain in minds of these people. Now someone will just wake up one day and decide to change his rules?

The New Testament have given us more access by the tearing of the veil.... But that's no excuse for abuse atall.

If you categorize what I'm saying as condemnation, then so be it.

God's word is not meant to sooth or please our egos and emotions.

It's why Stephen was stoned.... and Jeremiah treated so barbarically.

My own stance is let the scriptures be your standard. Not what you feel it should be.

Devil will not use us all and play Golf o in Jesus name. Amen

I detest being judgemental, but why is it just hard for so called Christians to refer to the scriptures to justify a fact or a reason why something should, should not be condoned or allowed?

All comments so far have been personal opinions on the topic at hand@those defending Comedy in God's house.

I've rarely seen a "the bible says" Line from these peeps Tryna justify why comedy should be allowed on God's altar.

talk2percy:
All these too serious Christians that claim to be holier than others. If u go to this man's church now u will be shocked to ur bone marrow that a lot of unbiblical and unchristian stuffs happen right in his church.
Oga Mr Christian born-again perfectionist, if u no like am, then kukuma die and go to heaven where everything is done accordingly and leave the world the heck alone for us.
See if you are a Christian that lives by the word of God, there is absolutely no just reason under the sun to call fellow Christians that live by that same word "holy holy " or "holier than thou"

See at the long run, there is always going to be evil in the church, that's why we are told to keep watching till the end. In Revelations, those seven churches were churches that today, the best church in standard can't trump or near their standards, yet Christ had issues with these 7churches. So no one is saying a perfect church exists. All that should be hinged on is that the devil is craftier than any pastor. And if that pastor has anointing to throw someone like superheroes, if he doesn't watch, evil will creep in.

The bible should be a standard for our lives. It should. Let's stop adding here and there by what we think is right or wrong. That's how devil creeps in via this laxity. The way you spoke to him isn't the best way... because I believe you should have heaven as destination too. so why tell him to leave the world that we were promised will end with fire someday for you, Asif you have plans to remain in it?

Final stance is that God's altar should be respected only. It is a consecrated altar. Consecrated is keyword here.

Why is that just hard for a believer to understand? Why?

Talking by what we all can see in the bible we claim is our standard, is that now a wrong, bad think if someone quotes the scriptures to justify why or why not something solid be done?

Way back in Old Testament times, one of the practices of prophets of Baal was just unprovoked jesting inside the very temple of Baal. Some died from it. Should we that are claiming separated from the world now be doing exactly what the world does in the name of lemme enjoy this freedom?
Christianity Etc › Re: What Is Your View About Comedy In The Church? by daveP(m): 1:17pm On Apr 01, 2018
It's very very wrong to bring an idea of mockery and jesting to God's very altar.

We humans tend to abuse things to an extreme level and when we are corrected, we scream extremism at the person correcting. It's very sad that you call a comedian to come and let us all jest about how one sister or brother that was leading praise and worship went about it in one way or the other. Like is that what would now calm my nerves? According to the words of Christ, is that the way to wound down on my weariness? What's the benefit of doing so at the altar? If it has medicinal advantages, please the Eko hotel and suites is there, go and enjoy it there.

We live in a dispensation of Grace so we have a feeling of freedom which we know humans are prone to abuse.

This is the same God that takes his altar so serious and made men to fear climbing way back.

The high priest had to have a rope tied to his waist incase he died in the holies Of holies despite his colleagues knowing he has fulfilled all the levels of consecration before entering there per annum. Just to show that this God took things seriously. Has he changed? He said he hasn't. He just restored our access and freedom, but that's not a reason to abuse the freedom. Cos He is going to end allllll of this with Judgement starting from the church itself.

It's very wrong. very simple and straight. But someone on here would come and start using head to tell me why the church needs to lighten up, bla bla bla....

It's just jesting to me. And we should be making potential disciples how they should respect and fear God, instead of showing them that anything goes right on God's own consecrated altar.

He takes altars seriously, why don't we too?

Someone would come and say in the presence of God there is fullness of joy.... please let them read the verses before and after that verse.. The joy spoken of is by the Holy Spirit and not a comedian which is very temporary, bears no fruit, or add souls to the body of Christ. so these are all mundane.

Rohr Comments On Performance of Super Eagles Fans Favorite Joel Obi & Iheanacho

https://www.allnigeriasoccer.com/football_pics/28169Obi.jpg

Gernot Rohr has commented on the performance of Leicester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho for the Super Eagles during the last international break of the 2017-2018 season.

Against Poland, Rohr deployed a 4-4-1-1 formation with Iheanacho playing behind top striker Odion Ighalo, and the German thinks the Foxes number eight and another left-footed player Joel Obi did well.

''I know my players, Kelechi is running so much and fighting for his starting place, it is very important that we have this competition, he is a left footer and we don’t have so many left footers,'' Rohr said to
Omasports.

''We also tried Joel Obi for the first time since I have been the coach of the Super Eagles.

"He is a left footer, we need some left footers in the team[/b]and he did well, Iheanacho also, he is fighting and pressing hard, he is able to score.''

Iheanacho was not in Nigeria's match day squad against Serbia on March 27 due to injury and will undergo a late fitness test before Leicester City's Premier League clash at Brighton.

On the other hand, Torino midfielder Joel Obi put his injury worries behind him and was named in the starting line-up in the two international friendlies.

But how can a player with these qualities be playing for a championship club?
What's strong with all these premiership and LA liga coaches, even if they're mad, are they blind also?
It's the English bias to some degree. When he pulled that record with fulham last season or so, epl teams didn't chase him like he did no big feat with the team. so he decided to stay put. Besides I don't mind where you ply your trade inasmuch as you are fatal and brutal and effective for the national team. And Aluko is a big exception cos he is seeing much regular play than Aina.

I'm lost cos the playing time crew here just don't seem to pull their radar on this guy. But I will. One just develops goosebumps of negativity when they hear Aluko. let them Contunu.

Dessers and Aluko cannot even be in the same box.

Aluko has been in the set up before, so, he can be compared to Joel and we have seen how ineffectual Joel was, Dessers however, has never been in the set up, so, he at least, has a clean slate
Why can't Aluko and Dessers be classed together? They both haven't played any competitive game for GWG.

Aluko played 6times and got two goals. And he didn't play all minutes in those games. Why is he always overlooked? If you wanna tell me he ain't good enough, you'll need to try very very hard. It's like Rohrs is overlooking Championship players and that's not good.

Obi have played 11straight games for GWG and wasn't a goal threat atall in all of those straight games. In Total he has 14caps and still no goals. Not using goals to judge him, but you're making me do so.

So why not Aluko? why?

Thank God Tbaba dropped Belgium's stats that put Dessers as the player with the highest conversion rate. I don't know what else you want to see.

Joel played 3 games after coming back from injury and that informed his call up. So much for that
He is putting Dessert and Joel in the same shoes And that's not proper. Joel.

If you want to pull up Dessert then apply same to Aluko as well. See no reason why both can't get a chance if we truly want what's best for this blunt attack we are having.

Iwobi's fourth goal against Argentina was from a cross whipped in by Musa.
I agree with him. It's a habit that the Super Eagles were know for, but these current set don't even have it as a habit. We need to find that habit back, cos Brazil are using their wingback to do it consistently in their last 10 games that I've watched.

The stress of breaking down a determined defence is much. No team at the world cup would do such work. They'll prefer to catch the defence unawares with crosses. That's what matters. Ighalo with a header... well no one crosses and he doesn't hala for one.

Let's face the facts we are taking to the World cup a striker who has scored once in the EPL. That does not inspire overwhelming confidence. We have a front man who at times seems not to be on top of his game.

Compare Mitrovic a supposedly lowly championship striker to our guys. See the panic the guy cause us. In actual fact we were lucky he could have scored 4 considering the goal that was wrongly disallowed it was over the line.

Players go to the world cup on the back of current form not hoping to catch form in the world cup.

If things get complicated who do you bring off the bench to lead the line. We need strength in depth.

We should have used the friendly games to have tested at least 6/7 strikers or at least had them camp.

But no we are recycling and rebounding.

How can Musa who was struggling in Leicester U23 now all of a sudden become prolific.

That's why I called for Obagoal Ideye, etc experience proven tested and consistent over the past 10 years. If it was so easy to get big bucks in China and score. I'm sure considering the disgusting money they pay all the Nigerian origin players in Turkey , Isreal, Norway, Austria, etc would all be there now if they could.
Which brings to the fore that irrespective of where you ply your trade, if you play consistently, then you're good enough for the team. cos I can't but agreeo this fact.

See this team needs good players that deliver. Truly we all may have favourites here and there. But if we need to get goals at the mundial, we need a striker.

Okay let's imagine a scenario where the players we look down on come and perform, won't we be the same peeps that would start praising them, and digging up their history as though it was just yesterday? That's why I don't mind Obagoal coming back. Cos even Ighalo isn't crafty in front of goal as he is....

Anyone on here who without Mikel, or with Mikel playing, Put their money in Ighalo to lead our attack come Russia, that's an anti -GWG.

Don't even bring up Musa. He is a flashbang.

Your points are noted. But whatever the case may be..... I wished we tried out some strikers as much as our attention is on the Goalkeeping issue.

Ideye chances of flourishing with this team would be high. But who else on here would agree. I'm tired of seeing Ighalo that rarely bites. I sit and watch my TV and my heart races only when Iwobi or Moses goes near the box 18 but not with Ighalo.
